Thanks @OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack, she's doing really well actually. She's just had all metalwork they fitted taken out and she's broadly pain free. There will be a lot of follow up due to the nature of the injury, but she's been a real star throughout, bless her.

I saw you have a new canine companion! How is he getting on?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 20/09/2020 00:10

Dd sounds like shes been a real trooper, it sounded like a really nasty injury she had and she must have been in a lot of pain bless her. Hopefulyl she wont have any lasting ill effects from it and will be pain free int he longer term. It must have been scary for you and her Dad, I know i would have been beside myself it was DS and hes a lot older than your DD.

New dog is just brilliant, he was just what i needed in the middle of the shielding period and its like hes always been here, hes fit inw ith us all so so well.We werent originally looking for a dog quite so young as him (he celebrated hsi first brithday with us) but i think actually, having him be so young has helped him with settling in. he came to usat just the right time and i wouldnt be without him.

In other news, DS got his GCSEs (can you believe hes 16 years old?!) and he did amazingly and hes off to college in the next month to study a BTEC in engineering, after that he will look at either university or an apprentiship, he hasnt decided which yet but his college course is two years long so he has time to think ti through and make a decision about it

libertyonhertravels · 20/09/2020 02:55

Well done to your DS one. Especially achieving so well in the year we have had.

itsmybirthday good to hear DD is recovering. Must have been awful for you. I think it's the worst thing seeing your child in pain. Well done on new job. As for the bag - how fabulous and I can totally see you rocking it.

Here in NZ we're on the move. Selling our house and relocating in December so I am job hunting.

DryWhiteagainW · 20/09/2020 07:48

itsmybirthday sounds tough. Poor DD, I know from experience that it’s awful when your child is hurt. Onwards and upwards with your job, that’s exciting! And another game show, can’t wait, you’re a bit of a pro at these.

DryWhiteagainW · 20/09/2020 07:52

The Row do some great bags, at a price Shock
here

MarshaBradyo · 20/09/2020 07:55

The Row is very expensive. I think it’s the Olsen twins so I’m ok as I don’t buy celebs designs. So luckily am off the hook Wink

MarshaBradyo · 20/09/2020 07:55

Need to read but it’s SO nice to see everyone back Smile

LoveFromDeauville · 20/09/2020 08:25

It is wonderful to see you all!

itsmybirthday19 lot of change for you and so glad your DD on the mend

one congrats to your DS, brilliant achievement

libertyonhertravels sounds a little stressful, will you be staying in NZ?

CarolineBingley · 20/09/2020 08:42

Goodness @Itsmybirthday19 that sounds awful, really sorry to hear but I am so glad dd is on the mend. Huge hugs to you xx

@DryWhiteagainW i agree with Marsha that The Row is über expensive. I don't care that it's by the Olsens just that it's massively overpriced. They have lovely stuff but usually 50% more cash than I would be prepared to part with!

Hello @LoveFromDeauville thank you for poking us all back out to chat.Smile I meant to answer your question on your other thread. I have a MaxMara coat that I absolutely adore. It's the classic black cashmere belted look. It was worth every penny of the £2k even though I only wear it a few weeks a year. My only question on the green coat is will you still love it in 3 years time, like I love mine? If not, will you care?

LoveFromDeauville · 20/09/2020 08:45

carolinebingley definitely not going for the green coat. Something more classic. If I’m going to spend that much I want to ensure I love it. That’s one thing lockdown has reminded me of: I don’t need fast fashion. Just lovely pieces that make me feel happy.

CarolineBingley · 20/09/2020 09:13

@LoveFromDeauville mine is the classic wrap around coat. I have it in black, my friend has it in the caramel colour and I have to say the grey just made me swoon. It's a double layer of cashmere so it's sooo warm, so I only really wear it in December/January when it is at its coldest. However because it's fastened only by the belt I can find it a bit of a pain. I think I paid about £2,300 at the time, but it's been worth every penny as it looks so chic and feels amazing. I can't believe it's £3,100 now though Shock

LoveFromDeauville · 20/09/2020 09:21

@CarolineBingley beautiful Smile

MissKittyKitty · 20/09/2020 09:57

Oh how I've missed you all. I only checked the other day and we were still on 492 posts and I thought surely this can't be goodbye Sad slight name change from me but hard to figure out who I was Grin

Itsmyb so sorry to hear about your dd I must have missed that in FB, glad to hear she is recovering. I saw you bag - swoon it is a thing of beauty.

Loving all your fabulous links Viva's boots Caroline's blouses and stunning earrings, Shop's and Lib's cool purchases, Stokey's dress, Mara's trainers

Caroline you've got me thinking about tops as I'm back working online from next week and was thinking how I could make myself stand out. I think I'll go bright tops and need to re-think earrings options.

Lib are you staying in the same country?

Justa would love to see your boots

One great new about ds

Deauville I think I know who you are

Marsha how are you?

Southern come and join us

Hope I haven't missed anyone out

I have packed on the lockdown down pounds which rendered most of wardrobe not wearable. Since the gyms opened I've been Body Pumping like crazy but those extra pounds are not shifting as quickly as I'd like. So i bought these:

Baukjen Neath pants they're really comfortable and are also respectable enought to wear outside. In fact I'm thinking of buying another pair.

I also bought a load of Toast tee shirts in various colours

Toast half sleeve tees I really like the half sleeves makes them a bit more interesting.

Was sad to receive an email today from JCrew saying they're closing all their UK stores. It makes sense I suppose but still sad to see them go.

libertyonhertravels · 20/09/2020 10:29

kitty and lovefromdeauville yes I am staying in NZ and yes, moving is a complete PITA. I dont recommend emigrating in late 40's. Totally different experience from relocating in 20s/30s.

Loving all the updates and links. I've missed you all.

kittyhello · 20/09/2020 11:18

Thanks hope the move goes well. xx

maradesbois · 20/09/2020 22:40

Ok so have read back think I’ve got who some of you are but by no means all! Caroline love that you thought of me for your zoom style - definitely a departure from your previous work looks, you’ll be at the office in trainers next!

Shop LOVE all your lockdown savings purchases. You could just have posted those links incognito and would have known it was you!

Lib good look with your relocation, will dm you to exchange news. Still miss you in London.

I’m loving these last days of summer, really don’t want it to end. Today I got what was probably the final wear of the year out of a floaty black linen Marant midi that is about 5yrs old but still going strong.

justasecond · 20/09/2020 22:43

Back with my boots link. Not sure why I can't login on the app
by far boots

itsmybirthday sorry to hear about your dd's injury, how awful for you all. Hope she makes a full recovery very soon. Beautiful bag!
one well done to your ds, this year has been especially unfair to kids who didn't get to sit exams. Hope it will not be the same for my dd next year.

stokey sorry to hear you have been unwell, hope you get better soon Flowers love the Rixo dress and the boots are gorgeous. I have my eye on a more budget option from zara zara boots

shop look forward to seeing you with grey hair. I bet it looks really cool. Great haul too.

Viva love the whistles boots.

lib good luck with the move and job hunting, great purchases.

Waves to mara, marsha, dry, kitty and caroline

Apologies if I missed anyone!

justasecond · 20/09/2020 22:47

Also bought these Miista shoes a few months ago miista.com/loirane-parchment-woven-leather-heels/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7rfvq9r46wIVR83tCh0qfwb5EAQYBCABEgKhuvD_BwE

Not my best buy as they are not very comfortable but they look nice.

Everyonelovessparkles · 21/09/2020 11:17

Great to see the thread back! I’ve missed you ladies and our fashion chat. Lovely to see all the updates and glad you are all ok.

Even though I didn’t have many zoom work calls, I still found getting dressed in ‘proper’ clothes made me feel so much better over lockdown and the summer. I haven’t really bought anything - just been wearing up what I have. I’ve enjoyed wearing dresses more than skirts / tops as found the waist bands uncomfortable for sitting all day.

I think it will be interesting to see the AW collections and which shops survive in the new fashion landscape (surely the more formal / workwear focused brands like LK bennet will suffer even more whereas the more relaxed casual ones like hush might win out??) I’ve noticed that even Boden has extended their loungewear offering for AW.

I want some new boots for AW - kind of the hiking boot style but not as clompy as that, I suppose more of a biker boot. Am starting to have a look around, if anyone sees anything let me know!

Everyonelovessparkles · 21/09/2020 11:23

One thing I did buy was these shoes
Sjp black court, you may recall I was looking for some patent pointy toe courts. I’d been stalking these on the John Lewis website for months as didn’t want to pay full price, so when they were reduced to £180 i quickly snapped them up! They’re really comfortable and just what I wanted. Not sure when I will wear them, but I see them as an investment Grin.

shopafrolic · 21/09/2020 18:45

Mara love what you said about my links - makes me feels as though I got it right.
So nice to see everyone
Justa my grey hair is on FB if you want to see xx

Stokey · 21/09/2020 21:11

Ooh those Zara boots look good Justa & love the snakeskin. Hope your building work will be over soon, have said hundreds of times how lucky we were to have got ours finished before lockdown.

Interesting about leisure wear everyone, I've been wearing Hush leopard skin joggers far too much. Just saw J-Crew are closing all their UK shops. Remember quite a few on here popping in to the Regents St one before meet-ups.

Love your grey hair Shop, suits you.

Am quite tempted by these boots too but may be too chunky.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/09/2020 22:15

Helloooo...!

CarolineBingley · 21/09/2020 22:28

Omg!!!! Blair and Everyone!!!! Helloooo! How are you?

Kitty hmm, I love those Baujken pants!

Mara, if I wear trainers to the office you need to come and fetch me...fast!! Btw did I already say your picture from the weekend was super glam??

Some of the boots linked are so chunkyShockGrin pretty but definitely not for me.

Also a whole load of brands already that I have never heard of. Fab.

DryWhiteagainW · 21/09/2020 22:40

justa I love the brown mock croc ankle boots.
Everyone pointy black courts...you know I love them. Fabulous.
Blair Grin how are you?

Even I have been wearing joggers...satin ones from MV mind Grin

I have loved wearing midi dresses with trainers, I wonder how long it will take for this to be acceptable at work? So comfy.
