Not such an amazing dress. Or is it? Should I get the skirt?

Thanks to @posterRemusLupinsBiggestGroupie amazing dress thread, and a birthday meal out where my standby Hush Tara dress made me feel dull rather than special, I have decided I need a new "going out" outfit. So the odd trip for a meal/cocktails/the pub with friends which require more than jeans and a jumper (my normal wear) but nothing totally smart.

Stuff has arrived and I have been trying on - but I go style-blind when looking in the mirror- especially if outside of my comfort zone jeans and a jumper

So please will you cast your much better eyes over the attached. Ignoring the fluffy hair and duff photo abilities..

Thanks Chop, reckon I'll order them and try. They look so comfy....

I do not like my calves but my thighs are slim enough so if I go for a larger size skinny so as not to be too tight on my calves the thighs and arse and waist are too big - I can get around the waist by going high waisted but the thighs look baggy sometimes. I'll check out next thanks! Loving the cinema outfit.

Nice outfit. And Calf muscles are good!

I love mine Grin makes me feel athletic. It’s hard work to grow muscle mass at our age, so show them off with pride Wink (I have big biceps too, apparently, “for a woman”.... what’s with this idea women should not look strong?!)

Leather skirt, shirt tucked in and tights looks really nice.

I like the leather skirt look and your last outfit. Perhaps move away from black a bit sometimes - there are some nice nice biscuit coloured leather skirts which would look great on you. You would also look really nice in fitted mini dresses with an a-line/straight skirt rather than a skater.

This would really suit you:

How about hobbs velvet marianne jeans? I'm not a fashion lover but I'm a jeans lover, perhaps velvet is a good upgrade on denim (agree leather jeans are tragic)

Shirt tucked in looks better or half tucked in (called a French tuck)
