Hit pan on shade no 5 on my urban decay naked pallette. Been working on this for ages now.

Caggie09 · 10/07/2020 20:14

Loreal Dream lengths conditioner. Massive 700ml bottle, so this has taken a while to work through. Does what it says on the tin. I counted my shampoo's and conditioners up, i have about 24 to use upBlush

Revlon colour stay foundation. HG.

Experiment627 · 11/07/2020 08:00

Thanks for the top tip @justilou1 I will keep my eyes peeled for it!

@ememem84 well done on hitting pan!

I have two empties:

  • The Ordinary Squalane cleanser: really not impressed... it actually felt drying!
  • Bulgari the vert conditioner 75ml: one of the last hotel amenities my mum had in stash - God knows how old it is! I adore the scent - fortunately The Body Shop have the Fuji range which is a dupe - and have the shower gel in my stash

Anyone have any tips for a really good hair treatment which will help my straw like ends of hair?

Budget up to £20.

IHeartSusanDey · 11/07/2020 22:11

Just finished Bum Bum Cream...loved it! My bum feels so smoother and yes, tighter! Even though I didn't change anything about my exercise. So I have ordered it in a bigger size....plus the smell is yum! Divine!

IHeartSusanDey · 11/07/2020 22:14

@ememem84 I use a Christophe Robin cream and it's amazing. Pricey though. I have also heard great things about Davines Mask.

For a lesser price but just as good, Moroccan Oil Cream...not the oil!, the treatment cream!!

ememem84 · 11/07/2020 22:17

@IHeartSusanDey thanks!! Will have a look at the suggestions.

Have found an old redken hair mask and have slathered it on and have tied hair loosley up and am wearing a sleep mask hat thing. (Like a shower hat but not waterproof).

justilou1 · 12/07/2020 00:05

Ooh! @IHeartSusanDey... I have a travel pack of Bum Bum cream and other goodies to start on! Was thinking I might shave and fake tan the legs as looking a bit wintery and dry here in Aus. Might as well do my Bum Bum too. (Confession:- Have never fake tanned before either. As I am naturally custard-coloured at the moment, this could be pretty funny! Going to use a gradual tanner so I don’t look like a tie-dyed Big Bird.)

LivingDeadGirlUK · 12/07/2020 21:31

finished a tiny Sanctury body polish from the amazom calander. It was fine but nothing special.

CherryMargo · 12/07/2020 21:53

Empty no. 30 🚮 Pixi by Petra Glow Tonic (250 ml; £14.40). Managed to use it up 28 days before it expired.

It is – as all/most of you know – a glycolic acid toner which helps reduce inflammation, and makes skin smoother and thicker. It can also cause redness and dryness, and increases photosensitivity. It is the best acid toner I have tried so far (I wish it didn’t contain synthetic fragrance and colourant though! 😟). I still have 3 more in my stash (couldn’t resist a good deal 😏), but I’m trying one of the Paula's Choice exfoliants next. If it works better for me, then I won’t purchase Glow Tonic anymore.

A total number of products left in the face toner category: 1 travel-size and 6 full-size products.

Used up Sanex 24. Currently got a Mitchum on the go but moo goo is my HG especially if I get sensitivity.

Love this line life mascara. It’s my second one and now gone dry after about 6/7 months of daily use. Lost it for a bit so opened a similar temple spa one. Prefer the limelife. At £20 it’s not cheap but it lasts and even though not waterproof doesn’t budge with a few tears. Wore it on my wedding day. Definitely my HG so will repurchase as soon as others finished.

Empties:

30ml Body Shop argan hand cream - the best of the BS hand creams, I think, but I prefer Crabtree & Evelyn minis which are usually 6 for £15 in TK Maxx so better value

4 very mini indeed Acqua di Parma unisex perfumes which DH got on some business class flights. No idea what scents they were but didn't want to waste. Nice enough for a change but only used them up because I had them.

Costacoffeeplease · 13/07/2020 10:25

Empties today
Space nk minis -
Sunday Riley vit c rich hydrating cream - really liked this, nice citrusy scent and light formula, would re purchase
This works, morning expert hyaluronic serum - nice but too small to see any difference
This works my wrinkles cbd booster - evening serum, I think it had an effect on fine lines
Mádara regenerating night cream - would re purchase
L’occitane lemon verbena shower gel - perfectly fine but I’m not a huge loccitane fan
Full size Gatineau floracil this is the new formula which stings a bit so I’m back to the old formula now
Monuspa rose and lemon body cream - from M&S Beauty box - really liked this, more lemon than rose scent and light formula

IHeartSusanDey · 13/07/2020 12:32

Em and Lou I really liked the Bum Bum Cream. The texture as well feels so silky. I remember years and years ago Barbara Daly (think that was the name) did a Firming Cream for Tesco was it? And it was a miracle worker...then it was discontinued.😭😭

Finished off Beauty Pie Uber Youth serum. It was nice but not sure I will continue with my subscription now the three months are coming to an end. I am almost at the end of the Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin anti-ageing Cream and I haven't enjoyed using it. It leaves little clumps on my skin and feels heavy.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 13/07/2020 14:48

Can someone tell me what i'm supposed to do with the REN glow tonic from the M&S summer bag? I use a clenser, serium, moisturiser and eye cream and am not sure where this fits in or what it does really!

Costacoffeeplease · 13/07/2020 14:56

I would use it after cleansing

Experiment627 · 13/07/2020 15:01

I have two empties:

  • Clarins Beauty Flash Balm 15ml: used as a mask cos I ain't wearing no makeup at the mo. This was a present - no plan to buy
  • Kingfisher fennel toothpaste with fluoride: this is a staple for me - love the taste!

After cleansing and before serum. Put serum on while skin is still damp from toner.
WellTidy · 13/07/2020 15:09

If you're using the REN AHA glow tonic, I think you're also supposed to use SPF (SPF would come after moisturiser). I may be wrong though! I only use it at night (after cleansing, before serum).

LivingDeadGirlUK · 13/07/2020 15:38

My moisturiser has SPF in it, although I'm looking forward to using the NUXE on sunny days rather than a standard sunscreen. I know they say SPF in moisturiser isn't enough but I'm mixed race and tan easily, my moisturiser stops my face tanning and its been a revelation since I started using it, no more tan lines from the glasses!

Caggie09 · 13/07/2020 16:23

Couple of empties today

CoverFX spf30 booster drops. Bit of faff in the morning when getting ready as its not a cream, more like an oil. Didnt make my face look greasy though when not wearing makeup. Also the amount i was putting on probably wasnt the right amount for actual protection.. Moved onto Emma Hardie prime & protect.

Kate Somerville Exfoliate daily cleanser. I loved this, im sad it's gone. A refreshing citrusy scent, wasnt drying on my face and my skin looked quite fresh after using it. Its quite pricey, but i think ill repurchase👀

IHeartSusanDey · 13/07/2020 18:33

Caggie I got the Kate exfoliator in an advent calendar...Space NK I think. I haven't used it as yet but I do like the brand a lot. Her wrinkle warrior is fantastic.

I just finished a mini of Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask. It is really lovely...a nice, subtle scent of rose but not overpowering or cloying. Just right. I think it does make skin more glowy and was considering purchasing a full size but EEK! The price puts an end to that little dream.Grin

ememem84 · 14/07/2020 21:33

@Experiment627 I’m never sure if I’m a fan of beauty flash balm. I use it if it’s in a goody bag and like what it does. But the smell!!!! Eugh.

Using a nip+fab eye sheet mask at present. Nice.

Also bought some L’Oréal long hair dream (I think) leave in treatment stuff so have popped some of that on my ends. Apparently it can be used on dry hair too so there’s my overnight thing

justilou1 · 15/07/2020 04:46

Beauty Flash was really the first real “primer” anyone really used in the 90’s. It’s basically moisturiser with micronised rice powder in it. (I worked for Clarins back in the day). Was actually revolutionary for it’s time. You’re right about the smell, though... I loved their products then, but now that I know how irritating essential oils are, I wouldn’t use them! (Also now that I’m old, I prefer to hit my face with science, not “natura”!)

IHeartSusanDey · 15/07/2020 09:32

I was never really a fan either of Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. It didn't really seem to do much...but I only bought it once when I was younger so didn't really need much for my face then.

Just finished M&S Proven Neck and Décolletage Cream. It was a minuscule sample so have no idea if it really is 'proven' to work. I find I am focusing so much on my neck now, more than my face even. I bought a massage roller thing to use after a video I saw on how it can help with neck wattle.

Also finished Shiseido Vital Perfection Uplifting Cream. It was lovely but not worth full price I think. It alway strikes me as expensive brand for what it is.
