New Year, new thread!!!! Continuing the great work already started!!!

This thread is for those that LOVE beauty products... so much so they hoard them, and covet them and behold the beauty that they contain 🥰🥰🥰🥰

@Sportycustard I second the Nars after glow lip balms - I have one in dolce vita which is lovely. I’m slightly obsessed with the expanded Org*sm range but am always a bit disappointed when I do invest in one of the bits - the nail varnish, lip gloss and liquid blusher have all been a let down so far!

In other news I’ve just finished an Aromatherapy Associates Bath oil in Deep Relax. It was amazing and induced an almost coma-like state of zen so I highly recommend for anyone struggling at the moment. It’s expensive and I won’t repurchase as I have a different one to use up now but will definitely hope to own again in future!

lockdownalli · 07/06/2020 15:33

Please may I join?

I am a dreadful beauty hoarder. I did a stock take this morning, although I later realised I hadn't emptied any of my handbags/work bags so there will be more to look through later.

I threw away loads of stuff - but it's annoying how a lot of beauty stuff doesn't have a use by date. I probably threw away 7 kohl pencils Grin

Anyway, I now have a considerable stash to work my way through. It's a bit embarrassing really. How did I end up with 13 hand creams, 5 mascaras, 3 foot creams, 7 primers, 7 lip glosses I never wear lip gloss 15 shower gels, 5 bottles of bloody Double Wear???!!!!

On the plus side, I have done a good job of working through my perfume hoard and have only six on the go (plus whatever is lurking in bags of course) and that was definitely much worse before lockdown.

So I post here when I finish a product and give it a little review, yes?

Costacoffeeplease · 07/06/2020 17:29

lockdownalli welcome, and yes, that’s it really. Keep a track of what you use up and let the rest of us hoarders know what’s worth stocking up on Grin

WellTidy · 07/06/2020 19:23

I’ve dipped in and out of this thread for years, but last posted maybe three months ago. It has kept me accountable during lockdown and I’ve made huge progress on my stash. So proud!! Taken a step back today as the M&S summer beauty box arrived and it is amazing. Only one product in it that I don’t love. And as I hadn’t bought anything since before Christmas, I felt that I deserved it.

I am getting through lots of hand cream, cleaners, body moisturiser and eye cream (of all things!) during lockdown. I think being at home is just encouraging me to keep applying all the time. None of them make me want to divert from my holy grails, but nice to have a change. And make some space for the beauty box too.

I’m not getting through any make up as I am only wearing it twice a week (for video calls with work).

justilou1 · 07/06/2020 23:50

@DukeOfEarlGrey - Orgasm multiple stick is a life-changer. So is South Beach in the summer time for that glowy, natural bronzy, just this side of almost sunburnt but not quite blushy bronze... (hard to describe, but it’s unique.)
Just saying....

Caggie09 · 09/06/2020 11:01

The Body Shop carrot cream. I feel like this product is something that doesnt really need to be a thing?! I like the fact that wonky carrots are put to good use, but im not sure the carrot part benefited my skin in anyway. The smell wasnt too bad either. I think if anyone wanted to try, give it ago. Its not awful, but you could find a better product. I used it as a day cream, i wouldnt use as a night cream.

WellTidy · 09/06/2020 11:10

Today’s empties:

Elemis superfood night cream 20ml - I got this in my Elemis advent calendar. It smelled of veggies (like a green juice) and it didn’t do anything for my combination skin. My nose is really oily after a month of using this on my face and neck (trying to use it up quickly). Wouldn’t buy again.

Elemis single use eye mask - again, one from my advent calendar. Probably wouldn’t have bought this otherwise. Nice enough, and I enjoyed using it, but not sure I’m seeing any improvement in my eye area.

Estée Lauder advanced night repair eye cream - I like this a lot. I have lots of eye creams in the stash, but this is one that I will probably but when I’ve used up what I have. I have another Estée Lauder eye cream to try next - Revitalist (same range as my daily moisturiser).

Just used the very last is Rituals Sakura shower gel/foam 50ml. This was a freebie when I bought other items, but I’ve used this many times. A little goes a long way and the cherry blossom scent is so nice. And very cheap - I think the 250ml full size is something like £8.50. Now to use up a 70ml loccitanne verbena shower gel (part of the 2020 m and s summer beauty box).

justilou1 · 09/06/2020 14:01

I went to sharpen my Flower Beauty “Bronzed Out” mechanical eyeliner, and it wouldn’t wind up. I was very confused by this, until I tried again and it popped out into the sink. It wasn’t broken, it was finished! I loved that liner, too! (Lasted about five times as long as the Tom Ford one that dried out after about a month and cost about eight times as much.) Suspect I had this one for about a year and wore it most days. Their sparkly eyeliners are much nicer to work with than the matte ones. (They also work well when scribbled on the lid and smudged with a brush)

Experiment627 · 09/06/2020 16:39

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 we are doing so well!!!!

@Caggie09 please let me know how you fair with The Inkey List scalp thing - that is on my wish list. I am loving the Umbreto G hair scrub BTW.

@lockdownalli welcome!!!

Nice to see you again @WellTidy

Wowzers @justilou1 props for using up an entire eyeliner!!!

I have two empties:

  • Aveeno soothing relief baby emollient cream 29ml: I decanted from full size to this so had for baby bag but then discovered Kwicklet is intolerant to this too!!! Anyhoo all gone now but would buy again for me.
  • Laura Ashley Cooks Kitchen sea salt hand cream 30ml: loved the smell, sank in well

@WellTidy I love Ritual of Sakura. I am halfway through one of their body creams and it's lovely.

However, todays finished product was a really nasty body cream. Along Came Betty Body Lotion with a synthetic peach fragrance. Thin, useless, and I have another tube of it to use up. I might even throw it away it's that bad!!

It was a present to DD and she is far too high end to use such a thing so I rescued it but wish I hadn't Grin

Caggie09 · 09/06/2020 20:04

@Experiment627 Will be trying Friday Eve, so will let you know what i think soon!

SpaceNK GWP tomorrow, its got a few things in it that has been in and out my basket to even qualify for it, so hopefully will get my hands on one. I will be going on a no buy after because i will have spent over £300 on beauty products. I really need go sort myself out, but i cant be stopped!🥴😂

DukeOfEarlGrey · 09/06/2020 23:29

This thread has become very enabling of late! I strongly suspect I will be sticking up on Nars multiple sticks soon... the requisite amount to bag myself a Space NK GWP, obviously Wink

justilou1 · 10/06/2020 02:29

You won’t regret it, @DukeOfEarlGrey...

Experiment627 · 10/06/2020 07:03

Recently I have started watching You Tube for beauty product reviews again - Tati is not posting at the mo so I went to Jen Luvs Reviews - a really good video on hand creams and I am now watching the one on lip balms. At least this way - and based on what you guys share too - when I do buy I buy wisely.

lockdownalli The Rituals Sakura body cream is my HG of body creams. I absolutely love it. I have 17 other body moisturisers (most of them full size - I kid you not) to get through before I can re-purchase though. Currently using an Aveeno body yoghurt and it just isn't cutting it. I have enough body moisturiser to last me for about 4 years.

I've used up my stash of four Occitane hotel mini shower gels in jasmine and bergamot, which is very easily done when you use them as bath foam. Feels great to tick off more empties anyway!

Costacoffeeplease · 10/06/2020 11:35

Thank you for the enabling, just been on the spacenk site and had a little spend 😄

Costacoffeeplease · 10/06/2020 11:36

I have used up a mally eyeshadow stick and an Elemis marine night cream. Onto a different Elemis night cream

WellTidy · 10/06/2020 12:13

Costa Did you have the Elemis advent calendar last year by any chance? Your mentions of Elemis suggested to me that you might. I did - working my way through lots of it right now.

Costacoffeeplease · 10/06/2020 14:34

I didn’t, no, I had a few but tend to get the mixed ones rather than one company. I have had quite a few Elemis TSVs from QVC though 😊

Experiment627 · 10/06/2020 16:53

Well that will teach me... kept aside a tube of Lansinoh nipple cream to use on lips as had heard amazeballs things... but I waited too long - cannot get any out of tube... it has set solid!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/06/2020 19:00

I've finished a Batiste dry shampoo, got a superdrug one to try next. Also pack of Biore nose strips I got in an advent calander, not sure if its worth buying but is very satisfying!

Caggie09 · 10/06/2020 19:00

We all seem to be on a roll with this!

One for the bin is Batiste oil mist. Ive really tried with this product, i hate waste so wanted to try and use it up, it just makes my hair look greasy and heavy. Im not sure the correct way to use it, but i hate it.

Sunday Riley CEO VIT C Serum. This suprised me, it like a white lotion that smells orangey but doesnt have the texture of a typical serum. It says to apply 2-3 pumps, i felt like that was alot of product. Not sure id buy it again, dont feel it added much to my skin. I prefer DE vit c over this one.

Grace & Stella rose spray. Was in the FabFitFun box i got last year. I dont tend to use mists like this, i used it on top of my makeup , adds a dewy look, hydrates a little. I have a mini rose one from BodyShop to use up next.

WellTidy · 10/06/2020 19:18

Experiment My HG of lip treatments like that is Aquaphor. Only a few quid, you can get it on amazon. It repairs my lips overnight, in the same way as lansinoh would.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 11/06/2020 00:08

Ugh. I succumbed to the m & s beauty box after reading the rave reviews. Ah well. More to play withi guess.

Costacoffeeplease · 11/06/2020 08:59

Me too, with the spacenk order I’m not doing too well this week! Also ordered Eve Lom cleanser and Sarah Chapman overnight facial from QVC Blush
