New Year, new thread!!!! Continuing the great work already started!!!

This thread is for those that LOVE beauty products... so much so they hoard them, and covet them and behold the beauty that they contain 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I’ve only been back on this thread for a few days and already I’m sorely tempted by the space nk GWP. Considering buying my HG chantecaille gel foundation (about £70) and a few diptyque candles (the fig one is to die for) to get up to £175. Scarily easy to spend £175!

Costacoffeeplease · 11/06/2020 12:18

I did it in about 4 or 5 items 😄

Costacoffeeplease · 11/06/2020 12:19

Have finished a full size Clarins Take the Day Off though

Caggie09 · 11/06/2020 16:25

Goodies have arrived, im soo excited to get stuck inGrin @Costacoffeeplease, what products did you buy?

Costacoffeeplease · 11/06/2020 18:06

Ooh exciting. I won’t get mine for a while as I’m in Portugal but I ordered an Hourglass Ambient in Dim, plus brush, drunk elephant body lotion, Charlotte tilbury lip pencil and serum Smile

Does it all look good?

Caggie09 · 11/06/2020 20:04

Im happy with it! They've added 3 extra bits in aswell which is nice!Smile

Experiment627 · 11/06/2020 20:34

Funny you should meantion Aquaphor @WellTidy Jen Luvs Reviews likes that one too - I did not pay attention though, as thought it was a US brand.

Am very tempted by Space NK thing but I have never spent £175 in one go on cosmetics... plus I am facing prospect of job loss so I really shouldn't... will have to live vicariously through you!

WellTidy · 11/06/2020 20:42

That looks amazing Caggie. Really exciting to receive, I’m sure. I am tempted, really tempted, but I’m not going to. I will have to content myself with the m and s summer beauty box!

I’ve used two each of occitane shampoo and conditioner (30ml) in bergamot and jasmine - hotel freebies. DH bright them home from a business trip - he knows better than to use the branded toiletries for himself! God forbid! The shampoo was nice but the conditioner was very runny and didn’t penetrate my hair at all, and I used loads.

CherryMargo · 11/06/2020 21:25

Makeup empty no. 2 (not getting far with my makeup hoard this year 😔) Yllosure Premier Teint Delicat in Beige 5203 (52 ml; £14.85).

I bought this primer on a trip abroad back in 2009, so it was extremely, disgustingly expired by the time I finally used it up 🤢 The packaging was a cube-shaped frosted glass bottle, which was really inconvenient, as the product was getting stuck in the corners of the bottle, and it was impossible to reach it with a spatula. It had a ton of mica in it, however, the illuminating effect disappeared completely under every foundation I tried it with. It created a smooth base for foundation, but when I applied it on top of sunscreen it made my foundation slide off and crack.

A total number of products left in the face primer category: 2 samples, 2 minis and 4 full-size products, i.e. enough to last me until 2050 🥴

P. S. Although the Space NK offer is tempting, I am sticking to my replacement only no-buy, and slowly saving money towards Black Friday.

I finished an eyeliner as well (finally) Stila gel eyeliner in Lionfish. I think from 2018 M&S advent. So as Bobbi Brown are having a flash sale, bought a new one in Black Ivy which looks lovely.

For the M&S minimum spend, I got the Formula night cream as it's brilliant and then the sensitive Formula day cream as it was only £6 and meany I also got the free Glow products. So masses more products to go through

lockdownalli · 12/06/2020 09:41

Another one resisting the Space NK offer but that looks amazing Grin

I am focusing in all my miniatures and hotel size products. So I got rid of two Anatomicals reviving Body Wash this week. It was OK. Botanic smell which belies the bright pink packaging. Not as great a lather as my favourite Body Shop Spa of the World Shower Gel.

Also got through a hotel size body lotion - Code Concept. It was quite thin, didn't appear to have much fragrance. However it may have been in my hoard for a good few years!

Stopped myself from ordering more M&S stuff to get a second Summer Beauty Box Halo

DukeOfEarlGrey · 12/06/2020 20:01

Right. This week has been a good ‘un!

  • White Company hand cream in White Lavender. Lovely, calming scent. Nice to use at bedtime. Will probably repurchase at some point.
  • Random hand masks - single sachet of plastic gloves with lotion in that you wear for a bit. Can’t remember where I got them from and hope not to acquire again because a) bad for the environment and b) underwhelming anyway.
  • Elemis cleansing balm. Love it, will repurchase but this time would like to try the rose version.
  • mini Nars concealer. Good staple concealer, especially good on under eye circles as it gives good coverage without getting in the creases.

I’m weirdly proud of all this. Worried I might be getting over-invested in this thread...!

Sportycustard · 13/06/2020 00:15

Empty VO5 volume blow dry spray this morning. This is something I frequently return to but I have struggled to find it recently. I fear it may have been discontinued 🙁

I have 12 other hair products to work my way through!

Caggie09 · 13/06/2020 20:20

Body Shop Himalayan charcoal glow mask. I really liked this, felt like it was actually doing something. My skin was soft and felt like it had a good cleanse and exfoliate. Id probably try another from BS seen as i have got on well with this. Pot lasted me ages too.

@Experiment627 the Inkey list scalp thing, im not impressed with it so far. Smells weird and its really runny. The only difference ive noticed is, its made my scalp sensitive to the heat from the hair dryer, my scalp was on fire! Id probably save your money on that one!

WellTidy · 13/06/2020 21:52

Finished the Aveeno body yoghurt 200ml. I’ve been using it on and off for a couple of years and am really pleased to be able to finally bin it. Didn’t sink in well and not as moisturising as the normal aveeno, but it did smell much less oaty (a good thing). Wouldn’t buy again, and am moving on the one of the other 16 body moisturisers in the stash - this time only a 50ml, so I should be through it quicker - occitane almond milk veil (or something like that).

justilou1 · 14/06/2020 08:26

I am getting so close to the bottom of quire a few products... I am wondering if I must have been on a giant spending spree many moons ago. (Although they seem unrelated.) I am picturing myself collecting the empties in a box like a very late to the party influencer on YouTube. (*Promise I won’t, but I am excited, and also wondering if I am subconsciously eking things out to all finish at the same time with a final tadaaaaaaaah!)

Experiment627 · 14/06/2020 13:29

Good to know @Caggie09 ConfusedConfusedConfused

I am gearing up for a Body Shop haul - almond face mask nearly empty and that is HG for me now

Neogen Microferment Essence & Hada Labo Premium Alpha Arbutin Essence...
The Neogen is a cheaper “dupe” for the SKII essence, and I find my skin is much more hydrated as a result of using this product. The Hada Labo product I use to treat minor pigmentation and capillary issues from sun damage. I mix a 50:50 solution in a spray bottle and spray it into my palms (with a scoop of the ordinary l-Ascorbic vitamin c powder in the morning) then pat onto my face before applying serums & moisturizer, etc

I usd up a Philip Kingsley Elasticiser last night. I left it on overnight and my hair does feel better today.

The ends or still awful obviously but I haven't been to hairdresser since 15 Feb and my hair is thick, coarse and curly.

I have quite a few similar products so am going to use them in turn to see which ones works best!

Experiment627 · 15/06/2020 06:16

Wow @justilou1 that sounds complicado- has it helped with the skin pigmentation?

OP posts:
justilou1 · 15/06/2020 08:09

Yes, a bit! I believe it has! Although I believe I have give you the wrong name. It is known as Premium Whitening Solution. It contains Tranaxemic Acid as well as Alpha Arbutin, which is interesting, as it is an anti-inflammatory. I can say that my skin is definitely showing less signs of broken capillaries, which makes sense. I am thinking of purchasing this entire range.

WellTidy · 15/06/2020 10:20

I must remember to use my Philip Kingsley elasticizer (came free with an m and s beauty box ages ago, I think). I haven't used a hair treatment through all of lockdown as I never remember to. But my hair really needs it - fine, coloured and frizzy.

No empties from me - I go through phases of having a run of them and then none for a while.

Experiment627 · 15/06/2020 13:45

I have three empties today!!!

  • Formula Absolute Ultimate sleep cream 50ml: This is HG for me, have another in the stash but first want to use up some other night creams
  • Vita Coco coconut oil 50ml: I used this with the Emma Hardie seeds but am not planning on repurchasing at the moment as getting into fruit acids rather than physical exfoliants
  • L'Occitane almond hand cream 10ml: this is really nice - smells gorgepus, sinks in well and does the job!
OP posts:
ememem84 · 15/06/2020 21:29

Nyx gel eyeliner. Have ditched this as annoyingly it seems to have dried up. So that’s gone.

The rest of my “empties” are boring:

  • toothpaste
  • mouthwash
(I count both of these as the spares generally live with my stash of cosmetics under the bed)
  • bar soap
Costacoffeeplease · 16/06/2020 11:53

A few empties today, Tarte shape tape foundation, benefit they’re real mascara, Emma hardie pink mud detox mask and davines all in one milk, from a beauty box or calendar, which I used up on my hair
