DHC Tubing Mascara... it’s outstanding. You remove it with warm water, but it stays on through a hurricane. It happens to also look gorgeous!

ememem84 · 01/06/2020 05:57

Soap n glory dry shampoo - was ok but no batiste. Smelled good though. SuperDrug own brand next.

Simple cleanser/toning gel. I ditched this as was so bored of it. Dsis gave it to me as she didn’t like it. Nothing wrong with it just boring.

Experiment627 · 01/06/2020 10:49

Wow! @LivingDeadGirlUK actually finished!!! Well done!!!

I have three empties:

  • Clarins Beauty Flash Balm 15ml: used as a mask... ok but not amazeballs
  • Body Shop almond milk & honey hand cream 30ml: adore the smell and also the results
  • L'Occitance almond hand cream 10ml: this is lovely too

I have picked up loads more stuff from my stash - anything I do not like is going straight to SIL

Hello all, I hope you don't mind me joining- I've lurked this thread on and off for a while, love reading what people rated and disliked.

Have set myself a goal of using up one toiletry or makeup a day- have so many minis and products with very little left in them so it's going ok so far.

This week I've poured away a bottle of John Frieda sea salt spray- made my hair feel like Worzel Gummage. Used up a Super Facialist rose face scrub which i really like and is a repeat buy, and several hotel mini shower gels.

CherryMargo · 01/06/2020 15:33

Empty no. 26 🚮 Medik8 Physical Sunscreen Anti-Pollution Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (90 ml; £30) expired in December 2019 😓

Neutral scent. Sits nicely under makeup. Make sure you cut the tube when you cannot squeeze it out any longer, you’ll discover a ton of product inside. Contains carnosine (an anti-ageing peptide) and thiotaine (an anti-ageing amino acid). Also contains coumarin, and although its % in this product is very small (below 0.9%), please use it with caution if you’re sensitive to common allergens in skincare or suffer from a liver condition, and do not apply this sunscreen on infants and toddlers! 🛑

A total number of products left in the face sunscreen category: 1 sample and 2 full-size products.

Lush Cookie dough body scrub. Smells like cookie dough, looks like you've had a bad case of the squits though in the bottom of your shower. I prefer a gritty scrub, i feel like you needed lots of product to get a decent scrub. I do feel lovely and soft though. When i can get into a lush store ill try another one out, one that doesnt resemble crap!

justilou1 · 02/06/2020 09:59

Managed to drop and split bottle of Vaseline Intensive Care Body Lotion in the shower. (Slippery when wet!) Quite pleased as it barely did anything other than make my towels slimy. Happy to hurl it in the bin.
Seemingly millions of overly fragranced mini Bath & Body hand sanitizers - over priced and stinky. (But all I could get at the time. All were bad, but some were actually worse than others!) I will admit that I passed most of them on to the kids. (The latte one was the worst 🤢 So disappointing)

Experiment627 · 02/06/2020 11:38

Welcome @Ticklemeelmo !!!!

I have two empties today:

  • Superdrug Naturally Radiant hot cloth cleanser: I prefer this to the Liz Earle one, I will defo repurchase - but have lots of other cleansers to use first
  • L'Occitane Verveine eau de toilette 10ml: not my fave and I think it had gone off so I chucked last bit

I’ve finished an ‘une’ foundation sample - really old and had split but did the job enough for a zoom call!
Also finished a Baylis and Harding foot cream. I don’t find their products to be very good quality and this was no exception. It was part of a gift hamper. Smelled nice but a bit thin and not very effective. I think it was JoJoba and something ?almond. But it smelled like coconut to me.
I also finished an old bottle of sun cream, not sure that counts!

Costacoffeeplease · 02/06/2020 16:55

I’ve finished an Elemis marine night cream and a large tub of skin sense body cream. Liked them both and have another Elemis night cream ready to go

Caggie09 · 02/06/2020 18:17

Aldi's moisturising face wash. I think for a basic cheap product, its okay. Sometimes after use it made my skin feel tight, which isnt what you want. I do have another one to use up, but thats getting but to the back of the pile.

Love beauty & planet shea velvet lotion. Light enough for summer, and the scent was nice. Was a bargain at £1 so cant go wrong really.

Currently picking out thigs i want from Cult beauty and the goody bag is coming out and ill be spending againGrin

ClientQ · 02/06/2020 20:50

justilou1 · 02/06/2020 21:17

Good work @ClientQ

justilou1 · 03/06/2020 13:58

One more! The Ordinary 1%Retinol in Squalane. Eeeeeeh..... it was okay. Didn’t cause any problems. Didn’t perform any miracles. I was using it on my chest area, which has potential to be quite sensitive, so I guess no irritation is okay.... can’t say it did much of anything though. I think I can do better. Asian skincare here I come.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 03/06/2020 21:16

Impressive @ClientQ

I have finished a Carmex lip balm - solid repeat buy, already have a new one - and a Bobbi Brown undereye corrector that I’ve been at for ages! I like it but recently discovered the Becca reflective version and prefer that so have upgraded!

Sportycustard · 04/06/2020 08:54

Two empties here. Firstly a GHD volume hair foam. This was a loyalty gift from my hairdresser. It was ok but I believe it retails at about £10 and other products do at least the same for half the price so I won't be buying any time soon. The second was a beloved greeny gold liquid eyeliner from Sephora which was purchased on our last holiday to Italy (so loaded with memories too). I bought 4 last time as I love it so much. This was my last one and I can't find anything quite like this. Gutted!

Caggie09 · 05/06/2020 10:04

Drunk Elephant A-Pass Retinol cream. It was fine, sometimes if i was heavy handed my skin did peel. It's the first full one ive used up so i cant compare to anything else. Wouldnt say a massive difference in my skin overall though. I opened this one around December time, its 10ml and i paid about £20 for the retinol and the Vit C which i thinks quite good value!

Ordered my cult beauty goody bag, one of the things im looking foward to trying is the new Inkey List hair products. Its a salicylic acid treatment for your scalp which exfoliates so intrested im giving it ago. Hopefully will arrive tomorrow!

Caggie09 · 05/06/2020 19:54

Mark Hill Moroccan Oil. Lasted about a year for the bottle. Used it on dry and wet hair, found it really maxe a difference in mh hair even the hair dressee saod mh hair was in good condition (when they were a thingGrin), moving onto a grow gorgeous serum. Would repurchase

justilou1 · 06/06/2020 08:29

NARS Orgasm tinted lip oil... bloody useless. Pretty colour, but smeary and not especially hydrating. I have had better cheap lip stuff from the chemist. So glad I’m finally done! I have an Hourglass lipgloss in an almost duplicate colour... it stays on for donkey’s years!

Sportycustard · 06/06/2020 11:49

Finished a Jack Wills body spray that I rescued from being thrown out by my 18yo. Was a bit meh - but I guess 50yo women are not their target market 😂. I chucked out about 20 lip glosses this morning as I've realised that I don't like the stickiness of them. Also chucked a couple of lipsticks after I realised that No7 have had two packaging changes since I purchased them! Still have a massive make up stash though

Sportycustard · 06/06/2020 11:51

Thanks for the tip on the lip oil @justilou1. I've wavered over buying that before but I will give it a miss now!

justilou1 · 06/06/2020 11:56

@Sportycustard - I like the Afterglow lipbalms. There are lots of colours to choose from now.

Costacoffeeplease · 06/06/2020 13:22

Finished a Gatineau floracil eye make up remover, two more in the stash, and an Estée Lauder night cleansing foam

Sportycustard · 07/06/2020 11:30

Another empty this morning. L'oreal fine flowers cleansing cream. This was a panic purchase when I forgot to pack my cleanser on an overnight trip. Was ok, wouldn't repurchase. O e cleanser down, 4 to go!

justilou1 · 07/06/2020 13:04

Hada Labo 3D Lift Perfect Gel (from Japan). Bloody lovely stuff! I will purchase the entire kit and caboodle when I am done with my stash! Either that or the whitening range to work on sun damage! Love the texture, love the price, love that it’s not mega-fragranced. They know their stuff!
