New Year, new thread!!!! Continuing the great work already started!!!

This thread is for those that LOVE beauty products... so much so they hoard them, and covet them and behold the beauty that they contain 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Yesterday I finished up a Caudelie beauty elixir that’s been sitting around for ages - it’s the one Lisa Eldridge made popular and smells lovely but I think really only any good for something to refresh your face on very hots days, otherwise to me it actually seems to make my face feel drier a few minutes later. Very satisfying to finally finish it!

I’ve also used up a travel size Drunk Elephant glycolic night serum that was a GWP. I really liked it but won’t purchase the full size as I prefer Dermalogica’s gentle cream exfoliant and don’t think I should be using both? I get a bit confused by acids though!

I also recently used up a Sarah Chapman overnight facial oil. It smelled absolutely delicious which is what prompted me to buy but I’m not sure it really did anything for my skin, though I enjoyed smearing too much of it on on a few days during lockdown when my face has been too dry due to all the time spent indoors with heating on. Sort of like having an oily face mask on.

Experiment627 · 17/05/2020 10:04

@DukeOfEarlGrey I adore the Caudalie elixir but agree not quite sure what it does. However the grape water is extremely hydrating and loads cheaper.

I just finished up a Lush Milk Bath - got three goes out of it and it is... well lush. But TBH you get the same effect using dried milk in a bath and that is way cheaper.

Bottle of handwash from the downstairs loo (Sainsbury own brand -white) replaced by a BodyShop Juicy Pear ( bought at Christmas so just sitting there ,waiting) . I like the BodyShop Juniper handwash , smells peppery .

DS anti dandruff shampoo (Superdrug)

Ooh the glamour Grin

Caggie09 · 17/05/2020 15:30

Coach Drean perfume sample 1.2ml. This was really nice, im not good with scent descriptions but it was a strong scent and it lasted the whole day. Doesnt make me want to go out and buy it though..

Lucia Magnani eye cream. I think applying eye cream has became my fave part of my skincare routine! Ive used this since Nov/Dec. Came in F&M Advent. Id use this morn & night and my under eyes felt really firm, might not be what everyone enjoys, but it didnt feel heavy or leave millia under my eyes, which some have in the past! Its expensive, so i wouldnt buy it, i wouldnt say no to it again.

I seen upthread someone mentioned short dated products. Im abit dissapointed with Glow Recipe/Cult Beauty. Ordered the retinol eye cream in March to move onto after one mentioned. It expires on the 24/06/2020! Even if i opened it in March who uses a full eye cream in 4 months! I know you can use products well after expired, no problem and it wont cut out on said date, but really!

Three little empties today! Powering through at the moment! (Two were samples though!)
Eye crème is nice and light, no visible brightening effect, unfortunately. Not a fan of banana scent (or bananas at all *shudders) so won’t repurchase. Did like the texture, as nice and light, but didn’t see any difference for the price. Can do better.
Caudalie is lovely but ridiculously priced here in Aus. Can get better products for the price, tbh. I have another of these samples. This only lasted a couple of days because it’s very windy and dry atm. I prefer my usuals.
Weleda Handcream was my favourite! When I am done with the bajillion half-used hand creams floating around my house, I will buy this! I loved the fresh, citrusy fragrance, I loved how I only needed a tiny bit and my sore cuticles loved this! (This sample lasted for AAAAAGES!) I used it on elbows and heels as well! Gorgeous stuff. I think a tube of this would last forever!

*sorry photo upside down! 🙃🙃🙃

ememem84 · 18/05/2020 20:43

L’Occitaine dry hand hand cream used up. Loved this. The dc gave me this for Mother’s Day this year. It’s in a cute tube.

Almost done with a white company gig and cassis (I think) hand cream in the downstairs bathroom.

CornishTiger · 18/05/2020 23:29

shower gel from a Christmas gift several years. Nothing spectacular so won’t be seeking it out to buy.

Orlane cleanser . Really good and didn’t irritate at a time I was having allergic reactions to everything ( probably stress).

Have one stashed to use. Will buy again. Look out for it in tkmaxx. First though have a no7 cleanser and a ton of half finished oils, balms, facial wash etc to use first.

I have an empty:

  • M&S nature's ingredients pink grapefruit and watermelon: very subtle smell - I prefer the hit of the Body Shop pink grapefruit

I also have applied the "juices" of a Simple sheet mask (anti pollution or some similar crap)... very tacky... not sure what it did but there are enough juices to use again.

My feet are in a woeful way... any recommendations for dry skin there? In the meantime I may use a footner mask again and some body butter...

Oh gosh I’m so behind again. Can’t even begin to catch up. I don’t seem to be getting through much at all these days. Toothpastes and deodorants but I’m not sure they count really.
I’ve used an M&S natural ingredients coconut body butter, just a mini one. It was ok, nothing special. I’ve opened a soap and glory one which will last forever. I didn’t realise when I bought it that it’s the diamond one with sparkles in. Using it up during lockdown!

ememem84 · 19/05/2020 18:02

@Experiment627 I used a face scrub on my feet a while ago, then slathered a load of moisturiser on and slept in socks. Seemed to help.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 19/05/2020 22:36

Well my makeup isn't getting a lot of love at the moment, did put some eyeshadow and lippy for a zoom meeting today though.

I've hit pan on all shades in a bojoures eyeshadow trio I've had donkeys years, so I've chucked that to more onto something else, I have so so much eyeshadow!

justilou1 · 20/05/2020 00:10

My feet are woeful too. Am going to start the urea cream and socks thing. Actually Queen Nadine Baggott mentioned Flexitol foot balm. (The intense one) in her best lockdown beauty buys video from last week. It’s not available here in Aus, but cheap there.

CornishTiger · 20/05/2020 00:37

Ccs footcream and cotton socks. Brilliant stuff

Experiment627 · 20/05/2020 09:10

Thanks for all feet recommendations!
I put some body butter on last night - in a mo I plan to use up a hand scrub on them and then will start a new regime as I did a mega Boots haul yesterday and got a hand and foot set from No 7 - it had rave reviews so 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Right now I am trying out what I hope is a Biore nose strip dupe - will report back!

CantChoose · 20/05/2020 09:47

Oh gosh my feet are awful too. I’m not sure why really as I haven’t been walking.
I’m tempted to try a footner thing but I’m a bit scared!

ClientQ · 20/05/2020 09:51

Microplane foot file. Honestly it's insane but go v careful so you don't take too much off! My feet looked ok and I swear about 500g dead skin came off

Babysharkdoodoodood · 20/05/2020 16:18

Finished an Ordinary Marine Hyaluronic and Dr Botanicals Hemp moisturiser. Have an Avant Hyaluronic to replace and testing a moisturiser for Alba Science.

Caggie09 · 20/05/2020 19:17

Smashbox photo finish primer & Garnier Aftersun sheet mask. Nice and refreshing on this face after todays weather, also my face is peely after Glycolic mask

Caggie09 · 20/05/2020 19:21

& Just this second DE c-firma. I do like this, i use it for evening use and id possibly repurchase. I read alot of people saying it smells like hot dogs. The further i was getting down i could start to smell it!

justilou1 · 20/05/2020 23:54

Did you like the Marine Hyaluronic @Babysharkdoodoodood?

Babysharkdoodoodood · 21/05/2020 01:03

@justilou1 It was lovely. Much thinner than a normal serum iykwim? Sank in well and plumped up my skin. Just don't want another yet as I have a full size Avant to use up. Lasted a whole year and used every morning and evening.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 21/05/2020 19:40

Delighted with this week’s empties so far:

Living Proof Restore shampoo - loved and will repurchase when I’ve used up some others

Oskia perfect cleanser nice and would recommend to those who like a lighter balm cleanser, but I won’t repurchase as I like the really heavy, oily kind like Eve Lom or Emma Hardie

Garnier micellar Rose water - lovely and soothing, and would definitely repurchase if I didn’t already have a stash of ‘plain’ micellars to use up

Also finally finished a chantecaille eyeshadow palette - feeling very virtuous for using up every bit!

justilou1 · 22/05/2020 03:13

Wow! Finishing an eyeshadow palette is a massive event @DukeOfEarlGrey! 🏆🥇🏆 I honestly don’t think I have ever done this! Suspect I have become bored and given them away, dropped and broken them, left them in hotel rooms when working away or loved them until they were too gross to use anymore 🤢🤫🤭
