This thread is for those that LOVE beauty products... so much so they hoard them, and covet them and behold the beauty that they contain 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Two empties here! Soap and glory body mist. Won't repurchase as I was only using it up from DD's stash of rejects in order to save my nicer scent. Ok for lockdown.

The other empty is a no 7 under eye concealer. Really need to find something else as this was ineffective. Problem is I am ridiculously pale. I struggle with foundation too. Any suggestions?

I thought I might finish a body shop body butter but...do they ever run out? I swear I have been near the end of this one for weeks!

Experiment627 · 04/05/2020 21:23

Welcome @taydex !!! You are in the right place!!!

@Sportycustard I feel like I have missed the annual window of opportunity to use up any body butters as I can only use in winter as find they are too heavy for summer.

@experiment627 I've been using this one up on my feet. It's the shea butter one and I find it too thick for normal use but it has done wonders for my dry heels. I've got two more to use up afterwards. I think I'm good for body butter until 2027😂

winterisstillcoming · 04/05/2020 22:42

Finished the new formula Aussie conditioner. It was shit. I've bought the biotin & collagen one and it seems ok but I don't like the smell. If anyone can recommend something similar to the old aussie, I'd be grateful.

taydex · 04/05/2020 22:44

Thanks @experiment627 !

This evening I've managed to use up a face mask and randomly some breastfeeding nipple cream on my super dry hands and feet today Grin

justilou1 · 05/05/2020 01:46

One bottle of Andalou Naturals Beauty Oil donated to DD1. I used it once and developed a painful, giant, underground zit. I haven’t had one in about fifteen years. There’s a reason I don’t use oils. It was a GWP, so I’m not devastated - also full of essential oils and highly fragranced, which I tend to avoid in products that I don’t immediately rinse off. Dug out a pot of Hada Labo anti-aging jelly (red range from Japan, with retinol) was worried about using it as I use tretinoin already. OMG! Face feels amazing!!!

Experiment627 · 05/05/2020 07:39

Oooo good shout @Sportycustard !!! Maybe that is what I should do!

You are on a roll @taydex !!!

Finished up a mini (15ml) Simple Moisturizer that's been kicking around for a while...I had three of them so that's one down and two to go. Bit of a rediscovery that I like it.. but won't be buying full-size anytime soon.

Also trying to get into a habit/trying to work out what a good daily facial suncream is. Have a few samples in the house and working through these. Tried ultrasun face SPF yesterday for the first time this week which was a bit of a revelation....non greasy and sinks in easily so might invest in a full size once I'm through what I have in the house.

justilou1 · 06/05/2020 03:39

Going through liquid hand soap at a rapid rate of knots. Have started switching it out with body wash and nobody's noticed. Also more moisturising. Might continue this practice in the future!!! I have purchased a (hideous) foaming bottle and you mix it in with one part to three or four parts water and it will last forever, and the kids are none the wiser! (I will continue to use the nice stuff in my bathroom and the sanitising stuff in the kitchen though)

CornishTiger · 06/05/2020 07:42

justilou1 Do you have a link please?

justilou1 · 06/05/2020 10:39

I bought it from the equivalent of a pound store here in Australia, so I’m sure you can get them in UK. Lots in Chinese & Japanese grocery stores too.

Experiment627 · 06/05/2020 12:14

@IPokeBadgers I like the BodyShop sun protector SPF 50 - sinks in well and can go on top of normal cream.

I have an empty:

  • Dove rose shower foam: this was fab for shaving, may repurchase but TBH regular shower gel is fine too

Another sea of empties!

ClientQ · 06/05/2020 13:04

@Sportycustard revolution is probably your best bet, I'm v pale and c1/f1 is my match in their foundation and concealer
I also have a Tarte one but it's quite drying

justilou1 · 07/05/2020 05:13

Because I live in Australia and have a genetic melanoma running through my family, I wear sunscreen every single day without fail. This necessitates double-cleansing with an oil or a balm cleanser to get it all off! I was sent a heap of sample sachets for Mother’s Day (this coming Sunday in Australia) and fell for the Elemis Cleansing Balm - until I saw the price. $108!!! Get real!!! For a jar of oil and what my daughter mispronounced as emu saliva.... I have ordered the Curel make-up removing gel instead, and another Japanese Yuzu one (Nursery Brand) that is supposedly comparable to the Glossier one. (Glossier hasn’t deigned to grace our shores). They threw in two full-sized foaming cleansers as well - peach and yuzu Naive Brand. Will report. I’m not afraid of scented cleansers as they get rinsed straight off, and I love yuzu anything! (Especially cocktails!)

Caggie09 · 07/05/2020 17:03

@justilou1, The Elemis balm has became a favourite of mine, its £44 (i think) here, which is expensive but it is soo good. I use QVC though, usually find they have good deals on that stufg. Not sure if you have anything like that over in Aus.

1 empty Garnier moisture bomb hydrating and soothing tissue mask. Cheap and cheerful, I like the ones Garnier do, so i picked 3 more up today from workGrin

RiskIt4Biscuit · 07/05/2020 19:33

It's been ages since I finished any products, but I finally used the last of a Lumene micellar water travel size. It was quite good.

I also finished a Dermophil lip balm. It's one of the best lip balms I have used. The taste isn't great though, but I will probably buy it again if I can find it online.

Not really empties, but I sent some samples and travel size products to my mum as she loves them and I'm unlikely to use them.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 07/05/2020 22:20

Like others I’m also using lockdown to try to use stuff up and not buy more! So far I’ve been able to finish all but one of the miniatures I’ve accumulated over several years’ worth of beauty advent calendars... so satisfying!

justilou1 · 07/05/2020 23:22

@Caggie09 - we often have what we refer to as the “Australia Tax” over here. (Where companies charge way beyond a reasonable amount above the difference in currencies, transport, etc... The worst one for that is MAC. I won’t buy them here.)

justilou1 · 07/05/2020 23:29

On a brighter note - loved the Yuzu gel cleanser. It’s somewhere between an oil and a balm. I was wearing 50+ sunscreen under iT Cosmetics CC Cream (zoom meeting) and eyes and bronzer and it did a great job. The peach cleanser surprised me. I used a pea-sized amount and it was possibly too much! This is going to last forever! I did some research and Kracie/Naive is a sister brand for Shiseido. (Or maybe the gateway brand?) It’s so cheap too! Yes, the peach scent is artificial (very Haribo) but being Japanese it doesn’t linger at all.

Sportycustard · 09/05/2020 15:02

Thank you @clientQ judt ordered a revolution foundation and concealer to try

Experiment627 · 09/05/2020 17:54

Good work @ClientQ !!!

For cleansing - coconut oil is great as a get everything off first balm.

I have two empties:

  • Nivea soothing day cream: really did not like this - hard to work in and tasted foul (cream always runs into my mouth) so I used up as a body lotion. Good job it was well cheap.
  • Filorga time-filler eyes 4ml: went in easily.. who knows if it did anything

Well I cancelled my cohorted box last month as their customer service was awful. Only got 3 boxes after I paid for 5. Lo and behold: May box has shown up Lots of Show hair stuff. Worth about 120.

I've given up all beauty subscriptions in favour of a cheese on cos at least it'll get used up. Grin

CherryMargo · 09/05/2020 19:58

@Experiment627 thank you so much! 🤗 I’m happy if my contributions are of any help!

@justilou1 I was so frustrated when I was writing that review 😅 it really gets me when a product has 4- and 5-star reviews, and I finally try it, and it is not just meh but yuck! I wish I could always try a sample before buying a full-size product.

Meanwhile, there’s an empty no. 21 🚮 Méthode Jeanne Piaubert Slimfocus Complete cosmeceutical body refining cream (200 ml; £25.53).

Manufactured in October 2013, expired in August 2015, long time lost in my body care stash. A pearlescent lilac milk with a very elegant, luxurious scent. Its active ingredients made my skin tingle, I saw immediate lifting effect, and I’m sure that with regular use my skin would have improved a lot. However, I kept this cream for ‘special occasions’ which didn’t happen often, and eventually it got buried under a pile of other products. It is impossible to re-purchase it, as it was discontinued a couple of years ago. The closest alternative seems to be their Radical Firmness line, so I will give it a try once all of my other body creams are used up.

A total number of products left in the body cream/oil category: 4 foil sachets, 2 deluxe samples and 4 full-size products.
