Finished a very boring dove soap.

justilou1 · 30/04/2020 12:32

@DukeOfEarlGrey - I gave you the wrong name! It’s called Hot Nights! (Summer Lights is the brown one!) They’re both sublime!!! Check them out and see if you can get one (might even luck out and get a reduced price one!) They are the most blendable, wonderful palettes ever!

Experiment627 · 30/04/2020 18:51

@CornishTiger I have never heard Vosene used for headlice treatment! Not sure how that would work given the fact that headlice are resistant to the really strong chemical treatments. Anyhoo I would advocate that you use a combing method - check out this aite for more information: www.chc.org

Welcome @Sportycustard !!!!!

My bubba is fascinated with my make-up and loves liberally applying, everywhere...

I have three empties!

  • Lush bubblegum lip scrub: love this stuff and will replace at some stage
  • Decleor Aroma Cleanse 10ml: meh... was one of the things I gave to my mum but she has not used
  • Aveda Invanti Advanced exfoliating shampoo 50ml: should have been great but sadly not... unpleasant smell and grease attracting

CornishTiger · 30/04/2020 20:05

We used it to repeal the nits rather than treat. Don’t do chemical treatments either unless desperate. Definitely comb and conditioner here.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 30/04/2020 21:55

@justilou1 thank you! I do seem to have more time on my hands at the moment... there may well be some trawling!

justilou1 · 30/04/2020 22:39

I would recommend looking it up on YouTube for a more accurate look at the colours. It’s a gorgeous palette. (Peachy/Neautrally Purple-Pink) The bronzer & highlight again, perfection. I have blue-green eyes, so they really pop.

Luvacuppatea · 01/05/2020 09:48

Long time lurker, but I feel that I should join in and make more of an effort to use up my stash! I’ve got a drawer bulging with the contents of beauty advent calendars and GWP items, plus the latest Liberty GWP is arriving today together with the ‘must haves’ I purchased to qualify for said GWP! Anyway, onto finishes. Olverum bath oil (from advent calendar). Loved it and will repurchase once I worked my way through the various oils I’ve got arriving today.........

Experiment627 · 01/05/2020 10:15

Welcome @Luvacuppatea you are in good company!!!!!

Yes I’d heard vosene was a repeller for nits.

We bought some kids vosene when ds had them last year and it says it on the bottle.

I wash his hair with it maybe once a month.

I bought Alberto balsalm tea tree shampoo for dh and me. Same as ds once a month.

Dsis is a primary teacher and she swears by tea tree shampoo.

Caggie09 · 01/05/2020 18:59

Umberto Giannini grow scalp scrub. Cant vouch for the growth part and i know scalp scrubs are very hit and miss but i love them. I used to get little spots in my head, i suspect product build up or trapped follicle, not had since ive used a scrub. Lathers up nicely and ive never found a random bit of salt in my head yetGrin Will repurchase, have others to use up first though.

Lush Yog Nog. A nice xmas smell, but i want fruity fresh ones now as its coming into summer.

Paulas choice BHA liquid, i think ive had this sitting for around 2 years and never used it. Wish i used it sooner. Can see a difference with the pores on my cheeks and the redness, i actually repurchased the full size the other day and im using it straight away!

Superdrug chocolate orange facemask. Again, this sat for around 4 yearShock Its a self heating one, found that the heat element didnt last long. Never noticed much difference in my skin really. I think these kind of mask's are handy to chuck on when your going in the bath and relaxing, but id never expect big things from them..

Experiment627 · 01/05/2020 21:00

@Caggie09 that scrub looks really interesting!!! Will defo give it a try - maybe it will help fix my sore scalp?

justilou1 · 02/05/2020 05:35

Never-ending bottle of L’Oreal Micellar Conditioner is done! I feel like I have been using it for years! It’s nothing special, but it’s not bad. I have another, but I’m giving it to my daughters because they go through so much. (They have hair like mermaids.) I bought Pureology stuff from hairdresser because it smells soooooooo nice!

Caggie09 · 02/05/2020 07:56

@Experiment627 Give it a try, could help with it. It is abit fiddly to start with but it does make my scalp feel clean! Its never upset my scalp in anyway!

Experiment627 · 02/05/2020 10:16

Thanks @Caggie09 I have added to the list!!!

I have 3 empties:

  • Aveeno Baby soothing relief baby emollient cream: I got this for Kwicklet but in the end concluded it did not help his eczema. I have been using up as a hand and body lotion - I like the fact that it also works on lips - no taste. I may purchase again for me once depleted other creams on the go.
  • Elemis Superfood Berry Boost mask: I really loved this - I am tempted to repurchase but will try and be strong and resist until mask stash used up. This was a 15ml advent item. It feels like it exfoliates and nourishes all in ten minutes.
  • Neutrogena visibly renew elasti-boost handcream spf 20 15ml: not sure where I got this from - I used it up in a matter of days but I really did not rate.

Finished a tiny ginger molton brown hand wash which was ok, and a Yes to tomatoes charcole mask. It was supposed to peel off and didn't which was really dissapointing as thats the best bit!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/05/2020 20:55

No more empties yet but I'm ploughing away through Lockdown . Last week I had to empty the bathroom cupboard and found things pushed to the back (sniffed everything to make sure it was ok)

Unearthed a Natura Serbica face soap (its in a tub, it's black so stains the Konjac Sponge) There was a sponge with it originally but it's gone .

I've got a BodyShop Banana mask (it's 'ok' , it was a GWP )

Using my nice Molton Brown when I'm at home to appreciate it and just a non interesting soap on my work days .

Oh , I finished a Superdug Roll on anti perspirant . Not exciting but its a regular re purchase . I'm having to use a spray Superdrug one , not a fan.

CherryMargo · 03/05/2020 11:38

Empty no. 20 🚮 MONU Professional Skincare Delicate Facial Wash (3 ml; GWP). Received in August 2019 as part of a feelunique’s Pick & Mix order.

Pearlescent white liquid cream with an intense citrus scent. Everything it boasts to be, it is not – it is not ‘moisture rich’ or ‘comforting’ as it stripped my skin of all moisture and made my face feel shrivelled. It is not ‘delicate’ as it stung my eyes very badly. It claims to be beneficial to sensitive skin but none of its active natural ingredients are enough to counteract the negative impact of parabens and synthetic fragrance chemicals which make up the rest of its formula. Good job this sample only had 4 applications in it!

A total number of products left in the face cleanser category: 4 foil sachets and 5 full-size products.

@CherryMargo your reviews are so thorough! I love them!

OP posts:
justilou1 · 03/05/2020 13:29

@CherryMargo - really selling that one! Sounds awful! I just gave each of my DDs a cleanser that I was trying to use up, but gave up on for similar reasons. Too highly fragranced, ineffective at removing makeup (the whole point of cleanser, really), left a film behind on skin which required a foaming cleanser to remove, and that in turn stripped my skin. Still searching for the perfect cleanser that dissolves my makeup and sunscreen (I wear sunscreen every day) and rinses off completely.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 03/05/2020 13:57

Finished a 400ml Faith in nature dragonfruit shampoo, really loved this it smells great and really helps my greasy hair. Unfortunatly couldn't get any more of amazon at a reasonable price so trying the rosmary one next.

winterisstillcoming · 04/05/2020 09:43

Did a garnier moisture bomb mask last night. Lovely but pricey so any cheaper suggestions please let me know.

Experiment627 · 04/05/2020 12:52

I have an empty!!!

  • Simple hydrating booster: did nada... like splashing water on face
OP posts:
Costacoffeeplease · 04/05/2020 12:57

A few empties
50ml Liz Earle moisturiser, used it as a body lotion as I’ve run out Blush
Omorovicza illuminating moisturiser, haven’t noticed much difference
Tarte shape tape, quite like this, have another one to start
Mally brown eye liner
Trish McEvoy instant eye lift - like this and it lasted ages but have so many similar products to use up before I can re purchase

Caggie09 · 04/05/2020 18:48

Dr Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic serum. Only a tiny 5ml sample i got in my Cult beauty goody bag. I didnt want to like this, its far to expensive and i wouldnt dream of spending £200+ on it. But, i found it hydrating and my skin looked plump and not dull when i used it. Didnt leave a sticky coat on the face either. Saying that, i also dont think its worth its price tag either!

taydex · 04/05/2020 21:13

Hi!

My name ia TayDex and I have been a beauty product hoarder for more years than I care to admit! Confused

I've decided I really need to go through my stuff and sort it and use some stuff up. Y'know, make myself all beautiful when no one can see me... makes sense, right?! Smile

It won't stop me hoarding... probably just make some more space so I can buy even more! Or I will do what I normally do and give up 2 weeks in cos I can't see any progress!

Anyway, just wanted to say hi
