What is your least favourite grooming chore?

TeaAddict235 · 26/12/2019 20:28

Now that the beautifying rush towards Christmas is over, and in the countdown to new year parties, which grooming chores have started to grate on you?

Shaving my legs- boring, I'm happy to wear trousers until peak summer

Painting my nails- boring and pointless, they chip/ break due to the daily activities

Underarms- I cant be bothered

Please tell me your grooming irritations, or am I alone?

I don't consider shaving my legs or underarms a beautifying chore for Christmas... would do both every few days all year round.

Nails, yeah a bit pointless with small toddler and constant nappies and also pregnant, so not many nights out but I do like getting shellac at this time of year as it lasts much longer.

Tan however would be the one thing I would never ever be arsed doing, even in my younger single partying years! Way too much effort!

I hate plucking my eyebrows. It makes me sneeze. Every time.

BackOnceAgainWithATinselHalo · 26/12/2019 20:40

All of them Grin but especially anything hair related! Why does it grow so fast! Or which requires a beautician - the only thing I reliably go for is electrolysis on my chin.

My mate loves treatments - I just find them a money and time suck!

whitershadeofpale · 26/12/2019 20:45

Blowdrying my hair. It’s looks lovely when I take the time but it’s long and think so takes ages and gives me sore arms.

TotheletterofthelawTHELETTER · 26/12/2019 20:47

Any sort of hair removal. I do it but I hate it

haverhill · 26/12/2019 20:49

Leg shaving. Soo dull.

AutumnRose1 · 26/12/2019 20:56

I hate them all

Only do them because of work

Leg shaving, not in winter

Dozer · 26/12/2019 20:57

Nail painting, chips almost immediately and have completely stopped doing it, even for nights out!

XingMing · 26/12/2019 21:01

Anything to do with my feet, which will be permanently encased in thick wool socks and boots until mid April at least. Even cutting toenails is a chore.

biggirlknickers · 26/12/2019 21:08

I hate them all and hardly do any of them (shave very rarely, never bother with tanning etc.)

But I do wear makeup most days because I think I look so much better with it than without.

Applying the goddam stuff is 5 minutes of my life I’d rather not waste and I’m awful for taking shortcuts such as not bothering with rooting around for a brush so applying with fingertips, or leaving out primer, or bloody stabbing myself in the eyeball with my mascara wand because I’m doing it too quickly - ouch! Got better things to do. I really should give up wearing it.

Kljnmw3459 · 26/12/2019 21:10

Most of it, tbh. Anything hair related, nail related and skin related.

Gingernaut · 26/12/2019 21:12

Dyeing my eyelashes.

bluebluezoo · 26/12/2019 21:14

All of it. So I don’t, ever Grin

Don’t wear make up, do nails, hair removal, eyebrows are completely natural. Hair only when it gets long enough to annoy me.

No one’s run screaming yet...

saltysally · 26/12/2019 21:15

Anything involving hair removal. I have very dark hair so spend ridiculous amounts of time on it, especially for my eyebrows

MistyMinge2 · 26/12/2019 21:17

Blow drying my hair. Such a faff and takes ages but looks really shit if left to dry naturally.

Ambrose2 · 26/12/2019 21:21

Bikini line

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/12/2019 21:28

Getting my hair cut . When it was Pixie Length it needed done every 5 weeks , if I stretched to 6 it went from "Hmm ok" to "WTF"

Now it is shoulder length (after the tedious growing out phase) it gets cut every 5-6 months and I book somewhere rather than just diving into Supercuts when I have geared up to it.

I use an epilator on my legs ( stings a bit but lasts ages and no razor nicks) and Nads wax on my underarms ( very theraputic to see the whole armpit full on one wax strip Grin )

Fake tan is probably my No.1 hate list though

bingowingsmcgee · 26/12/2019 21:29

make up. I need a full face and it bores me to tears putting it on everyday, but I just look rough as a bear's arse and feel like crap without it all.

dudsville · 26/12/2019 21:33

Honestly the thing I like least is drying off after a bath or shower. Everything else is fine but I really lotte motivation for this!

BillywigSting · 26/12/2019 21:34

Shaving.

I hate it so much I haven't done it since about early September when I started wearing tights and jeans again.

I will begrudgingly shave when I go on holiday. I own a lot of maxi skirts /dresses.

Nails, I quite like going to get my nails done I find it quite relaxing but I can't afford it and don't particularly like doing it myself.

I don't like cutting my toenails either but they seem to grow about a inch a week Hmm

I don't tan and the rest of it I quite like

FruitcakeOfHate · 26/12/2019 21:40

Dyeing my hair. It's 100% grey, I'm not even 50 and NO I don't want to embrace my grey because it looks horrible with my olive skintone. I use Naturatint because I HATE salons and they are also a rip off and leave it on for an hour but still have to do it every month.

Lucked · 26/12/2019 21:41

Hairdressers - I find it so boring and don’t really like being touched by strangers so I go very infrequently and would never consider an other salon treatments. Fake tan is the at home thing which I wish I could be bothered to do.

I don’t mind shaving or drying my hair and do them daily.

Lanaa · 26/12/2019 21:41

Hair removal. It's a pain. Literally. I'm going to get laser in the new year.

FruitcakeOfHate · 26/12/2019 21:43

Definitely get a Phillips Lumea, folks! It will change your life.

girlygirl98 · 26/12/2019 21:44

Drying my hair. Dread
