Love the Sussexes photo!

BigGreenOlives · 24/12/2019 07:47

Maybe Beatrice’s fiancé doesn’t have their son until Boxing Day? One of my friends used to alternate Christmas with her ex. Better than splitting the day and the child having to travel around.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/12/2019 08:06

it's quite normal for separated parents take turns each year, so it's pretty normal for a child to have an entire day with each parent unless they live really close to each other.
Given the stories that royal children are kept in the nursery; I'm sure Willie would enjoy himself more with his mum.
Will be interesting to see how he is included in official photos going forward.
Yes for the wedding and with future siblings. But will Wolfie be included at Tripping the colour or the NO Xmas !unch.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/12/2019 08:07

Terrible spellcheck. Wolfie not Willie and BP not NO lunch

Encyclo · 24/12/2019 08:11

DM and their comments section are baying for Harry and Meghan to return due to the DoE's hospital stay.

Weren't these the same people that constantly suggested they leave the country?

AppleKatie · 24/12/2019 08:15

Probably they aren’t known for consistency or brains on there!

itswinetime · 24/12/2019 08:17

Love the Sussex's card/Christmas photo and love the fact it's actually Christmassy with a tree and everything!

Lots being made on SM about the lack of Sussex's on the desk for the speech but I agree it's the message this year this is us past present and future monarchs. Harry is no different in the bigger scheme (succession) to all the i other grandchildren and she can't have them all on her desk!

Rhubarbisevil · 24/12/2019 08:25

Well, where are the Wessexes? Where is Anne? Where is Zara?

QM is streamlining the monarchy. Heir, next heir, third heir. End of.

Ocomeocomeimaginaryfleas · 24/12/2019 08:26

That's a lovely photo from the Sussexes. Let anyone complain we aren't seeing enough of Archie now!

You're right, Queen, he is the image of both of them.

I predict there will be one more in next year's Christmas photo...

StartupRepair · 24/12/2019 08:27

I'm a bit over the Sussex's black and white obsession. I thought the Yorks' Christmas card was revolting.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/12/2019 08:28

Really Hope DofE is out today.
It has been a terrible year for the Queen. Another annus horribilus.
They are being very vague about his condition. Usually they are pretty upfront about what the Royals are in hospital for...

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/12/2019 08:30

Agreed @StartupRepair who on earth thought a dog's bottom was festive.
I hope the York princesses cut the apron strings next year once they are both married. Ridiculous how they are used as a human shield for their dad.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/12/2019 08:35

The York card is ridiculous! And honestly, time to cut the apron strings like @CurlyWurlyTwirly says. Jack is a grown man - why does he want to be included in his in-laws card?

Spudlet · 24/12/2019 08:38

Had anyone got images of the Cambridge and York cards? Or did I miss them on the thread? Am too lazy to google Xmas Grin

itswinetime · 24/12/2019 08:38

I have managed to misses the York family Christmas card but it being in bad taste doesn't surprise me!

I'm not sure they are hiding the details of the DOEs condition because it's anything worrying? But my grandfather is a similar age and having anyone let alone the whole country know about any of his medical problems would be his idea of hell! I imagine the duke is the same.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/12/2019 08:43

The York card

OP posts:
AppleKatie · 24/12/2019 08:46

Wow York card is bizarre!

  1. Why are they sending one out from the five of them? Do they always?
  1. What terrible taste. You might mock that up and show it to your nearest and dearest buy the idea of publishing publicly such an awful card is Shock
QueenOfTheAndals · 24/12/2019 08:48

@AppleKatie Jack was included in last year's card too. I'm not sure why he and Eugenie don't send out their own.

OP posts:
SunsetBoulevard3 · 24/12/2019 08:49

That card just says it all. Just really stupid.
Haven’t seen the Cambridge card. The Sussex card is lovely but does give off a strong ‘fuck off Subjects we’re much happier on the other side of the Pond’ vibe. It’s all unravelling very fast. I really can’t see them wanting to stay in the UK.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/12/2019 08:51

Does it? I think people are reading too much into what's just a Christmas card. There's even a whole separate thread about it!

OP posts:
AppleKatie · 24/12/2019 08:51

I don’t get it if Fergie and Andrew are divorced why are they sending joint cards?

The ‘girls’ are adults so why aren’t they sending their own? Or not.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/12/2019 08:53

They never stopped sending joint cards to begin with!

OP posts:
itswinetime · 24/12/2019 08:54

The York card has always been from all of them I guess because if the girls send there own it's strange for Andrew and fertile to send a joint one! Agree that card sums hIs attitude up completely if the Queen wants a better 2020 she needs to shut Andrew up and keep him away from people!

I didn't get that vibe from the Sussex's card at all! I got here we are enjoying out first Christmas as a family! But I agree with whoever said they do overkill the black and white soft focus photos!

Ocomeocomeimaginaryfleas · 24/12/2019 08:57

Prince Philip has left hospital and is thought to be on his way to Sandringham.

MotherofPearl · 24/12/2019 09:00

Love the Sussex card - Archie is very cute and with that full face photo they've certainly silenced those critics who moaned about the 'Archie jigsaw' earlier in the year!

The less said about the York card the better.
