I think I must be the only one who didn't like Kate's wide trousers with the purple blouse look. I thought the trousers were far too long and sort of engulfed her, and I have a real antipathy to purple. Grin

Gooseysgirl · 31/12/2019 00:26

Oh yes, who found forget the frog dress 😄

Gooseysgirl · 31/12/2019 00:45

In terms of fit & length, I didn't think Kate got the trousers right at all except for the autumnal red Joseph trousers.... BUT I'm really pleased that she has started wearing more trousers, and look forward to seeing what she tries in 2020. My fav evening wear was hands down the green sparkly number in Pakistan. Loved Meghan's navy sparkly evening number, and also the red leather skirt for day wear. Would like to see her moving away from the trench dresses!

RomaineCalm · 31/12/2019 01:11

Some of my favourite Kate and Meghan outfits this year...

And another...

I did also love pretty much all of KM's Pakistan tour wardrobe and the Everlade jumpsuit that MM wore in South Africa.

The frog dress really grew on me. It showed a quirky side to Kate that we rarely see.

mumdom · 31/12/2019 08:06

Kate’s blue Pakistan outfit for me. The colour was incredible on her and the silhouette really suited her.

mumdom · 31/12/2019 08:11

I’m not a fan of Meghan’s virgin birth stance, but that black dress was amazing and accessorised perfectly with the bangles.

I don’t know how to post pics but also liked her trainers, baseball cap, leggings, hoodie outfit with the smart coat and luxe bag look she wore for the airport after her baby shower. I’d resemble Waynetta Slob!

hopeishere · 31/12/2019 08:20

Meghan had a lot of hits and misses. Her casual style is great and her SA tour stuff was great. Pregnancy dressing is really hard!

I like Kate's style but agree those wide legged trousers were too long!!

I really hope some time off has given M&H some perspective and space to work out what they want.

StCharlotte · 31/12/2019 10:16

Any sartorial mistakes Meghan made during her pregnancy were wiped out in an instant when she wore that grey vintage swung jacket ❤

StCharlotte · 31/12/2019 10:16

*swing jacket!

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/12/2019 11:20

The one she wore in NYC? Yes that was great and looked fab with skinnies.

My least favourite Meghan outfit was probably this blue Carolina Hererra dress. Just completely swamped her. I think the cream gown in Morocco was just okay which is disappointing for a custom Dior gown.

My favourite looks were the animal Oscar de la Renta posted above and this blue Club Monaco dress worn in Africa.

Really impressed by the Cambridge's new environmental initiative, Earthshot.

DuchessofWoke · 31/12/2019 12:35

I wasn’t personally a fan of Kate’s culottes looks this year. For a very tall woman, they made her legs look oddly short.

queenofarles · 31/12/2019 12:43

So that was the big announcement?
Makes sense now.

TSSDNCOP · 31/12/2019 12:52

I’m watching The Queen on ITV. It’s brilliant. Robin Janvrin just described Cherie Blair’s curtesy as “shallow”.

TSSDNCOP · 31/12/2019 12:54

The Earthshot is getting predictably caned in the DM comments section. It’s frightening really these people have literally no joy in their lives.

SandInTheSandwiches · 31/12/2019 13:14

Some more pictures from the desert..

As the Sultan of Oman, HH Sultan Qaboos is unfortunately currently not very well, many pictures of his life are currently being posted on social media. There are some nice ones of QE and Diana.

I think it's a great initiative.

I've read somewhere that K&W will be doing a European Tour next year, a sort of Brexit sticking plaster I presume, which will be very different from the usual Commonwealth Tours.

frugalkitty · 31/12/2019 13:23

The DM have hit an article with lots of photos of Kate's outfits over the year (feel free to link, I can't do links Blush)

I'd forgotten how much I liked the ombré outfit she wore at the start of the Pakistan tour, and also I think she looks much fresher in trousers (but not the stripey frilled jumper combo).

MotherofPearl · 31/12/2019 13:40

I really like the sound of the Earthshot initiative. It sounds pretty inspiring and I think the idea of rewarding innovative solutions to climate change is great. My worry is that without the right political leadership these solutions won't be implemented...

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/12/2019 13:47

@TSSDNCOP and I loved HM as HM replying that she doesn't measure the depths of curtseys, she leaves it to her sister!

All the other characters ( apart from Helen Mirrren) are like caricatures after watching the Crown. The accents sound wrong. I’m used to the “a” sounding like “e”.
