Kate normally wears lovely coats, but I'm not a fan of this one. I agree with @QueenOfTheAndals that it is too washed out a colour for her.

The top also cuts off her neck. I don't like the bobbly texture of the material either. I'm sure it was a very warm coat though - as it looks like Kate's legs are bare underneath.

Lovely coat on Kate ,agree about the collar .Ace .Not keen on hat ,so angular .But good balance for soft fabric and rounded silhoutte of coat ?

Dislike colour od Ann'es outfit - but really who knows from a photograph .Love ,love colour of Camilla's .

I think that's v caring that Charles accompanied Andrew to an earlier service .Perhaps Charles is ok with that dreadful card ,what with his reported desire to be a tampax .

beanaseireann · 25/12/2019 12:08

Im sensing an oatmeal vibe colour wise.

Encyclo · 25/12/2019 12:10

I be tv that coat looks better in motion. Neighbours round so no chance to look at them on the news. The collar totally makes it tho.

The children look really cute.

Encyclo · 25/12/2019 12:10

I bet nnt be tv

SenecaFalls · 25/12/2019 12:27

I like Kate's coat. I often have coat envy because my opportunities to wear one are limited. It's supposed to be 70F/21C or thereabouts here today.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Merry Christmas, everyone!
Sending you a hug, Frugalkitty . There's never a good time to have loved ones unwell but Christmas is tough because there's the extra pressure of having to keep the festivities going at the same time.

A bit hectic here, so I'm looking forward to looking through all your posts and pictures this evening when I escape to a quiet corner.

queenofarles · 25/12/2019 12:34

Lovely coat on Kate, I agree that shade of beige can be draining specially in Dark winter backdrop.
Charlotte is so adorable and well behaved.
It can be a bit strange/ daunting for them. Specially accepting gifts from well wishers.

MollyButton · 25/12/2019 12:44

I love the Cambridge's family photo - the children look far more natural.
I love the Sussex's card - and to be honest if Meghan gets much more hassled in the UK/the British press doesn't give her a break then I wouldn't blame them for making a permanent home in Canada, at least it's part of the Commonwealth.
The Yorks is bizarre - and I have felt for a while that Beatrice and Eugenie should be on here and maybe looking at the Stately Home thread (although that phrase would have a different connotation for them). I still remember cringing when Fergie talked about them being her best friends and going out clubbing with them - my DDs would die of embarassment.

itswinetime · 25/12/2019 12:45

I'm not a fan of Kate's coat I'm afraid I think the colour is draining on her and the big fur collar and cuffs swamp her it's a no from me. Nice to see Charlotte and George on the walk this year. Good to see George in some more modern clothes and a nice touch for Kate's shoes and hat to match Charlottes coat. Very cute pictures of the youngest royals meeting the public after to I'm sure Kate and William will be so cursing whoever gave Charlotte the bright pink flamingo that she will probably lug around all Christmas Crown Grin

I'm glad Andrew stayed away from the main service now to eat some food then have a proper look through the twitter photos for what everyone else wore.

Was there no Tindalls's or Phillip's this year? Or are they just not in the pictures? That will make for a boring day in the nursery for Charlotte and George. Also if the press were in anyway fair they could point out that Harry and Meghan aren't the only ones with other Christmas plans it's obviously accepted in the family people have other commitments.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/12/2019 13:05

No sign of them @itswinetime and they're usually there. I guess they spent it with the in-laws. Peter and Autumn may be in Canada too as I assume her parents still live there.

Loved Kate’s coat.

Catrescue1971 · 25/12/2019 14:17

Oh I love Kate's coat. She looked beautiful and warm too. A good majority wore oatmeal this year.

paradyning · 25/12/2019 14:30

Is that 3 sets of Boleyn bands? Eug, Bea and Sophie?

paradyning · 25/12/2019 14:33

4 sets. Louise too. Although hers is more of a hairband.

TSSDNCOP · 25/12/2019 14:35

And Lady Louise

I like Kate's coat but something about it was annoying her, like when you have a pointy label of but of plastic price tag in the back of the neck. Loved the bottle-green accents and it's brilliant that Kate's dropped that headbands just as everyone else jumps on the bandwagon.

However well-intentioned it must be a heart-stopping moment to watch your 4 year old overwhelmed by strangers with cameras.

Gooseysgirl · 25/12/2019 14:38

I think Kate looked fab! Pleased to see George dressed more normally and not in the Rachel Riley horrors.

Wheelerdeeler · 25/12/2019 14:59

So Charles & his mother went to 2 services? Abd Edward and louise? And Andrew to the earlier one only?

itswinetime · 25/12/2019 15:21

Yes the kids did very well bless them but It must have been completely overwhelming for them. Lots of security this year to. Don't remember seeing that many in the past.

cobwebsoncornices · 25/12/2019 15:24

Having had a lovely morning playing with whichever of their gifts the DC have wanted to play with and then gone for a walk through the fields to the park when they got filthy, I am once again grateful that I am not a royal.
Seeing those images of Charlotte made me realise what a difficult job it must be to parent young royals. They need to be perfectly behaved and compliant at all times and you have to teach them to be friendly to strangers and politely accept gifts from them whilst simultaneously explaining kidnap etc risk to them. I have found the contrast between "stranger danger" and "asking for help if you can't find mummy" difficult to explain to my DC but that contrast must be multiplied one thousand times for royalty.

alldressedupinblue · 25/12/2019 15:27

Blimey, Beatrice's fiancé is really a looker, isn't he?

Lunde · 25/12/2019 15:27

I think the early service is just a short Holy Communion service

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/12/2019 15:45

That awkward moment when you realise you and your SiL have coordinated...
