@52shadesofwinter stunning skirt!

Black high waisted jeans from river island and purple fluffy jumper from topshop. No photo as forgot and now in pjs!

happytobemrsg · 23/01/2020 21:17

It’s a long story but I’m on some pretty strong antibiotics atm which play havoc with my tummy. Not sure if I should dress for comfort (leggings) or style (skirt) for work tomorrow

OP posts:
Talisin · 24/01/2020 05:35

Comfort, definitely. If clothes are going to irritate you then they are the wrong clothes for that day.

Sooverthemill · 24/01/2020 06:35

@happytobemrsg comfort definitely. If you're on antibiotics you need to take care of yourself

Sooverthemill · 24/01/2020 08:41

Morning everyone, is it grim where you al, are? It's drizzled incessantly for 3 days here now.

I have an exciting trip to the vet today with oldest cat for his vaccinations.

Jumper: Eileen fisher new sale buy
Jeans: coated Boden
Trainers: Stan Smith
Underneath: hush white t shirt

Morning! Yes overcast, grey and foggy/drizzly - and has been since at least Wednesday. I really like that jumper @Sooverthemill - I can see why you bought it.

I’m in one of my non-navy jumpsuits today. DH doesn’t like jumpsuits. Whenever I wear this one he tends to start singing ā€œwe’re in the army nowā€ Grin

Jumpsuit: Boden
Trainers: Jigsaw (sale bargain last summer)

Oh it's nice @oubliette! I don't feel brave enough for a jumpsuit but am tempted. Tried a cord one from warehouse last year but it was too bulky

Talisin · 24/01/2020 08:50

Grim & Grey here as well.

Seem to have lost my Stylebook pic of todays outfit but it consists of faux leather leggings from Next, long (and very warm) purple roll neck jumper from Sainsburys & black kitten heel ankle boots from Mango

cathyandclare · 24/01/2020 10:35

Hi there! Inspiring thread and great outfits. Is it OK if I join you. I'v got lots of clothes, but work from home so often slob around in trackies. I've found that the slobbier I look and feel, the less I get done. So, I'm going to wear better clothes and try and wear some of the stuff cluttering up my wardrobe.

I'm going to try and not buy anything (although maybe new boots/ sandals in the summer/ basic tees if they get grubby) and wear something different (even if it's just a new combo) every day for 8 weeks. I did something similar several years ago, but I've slumped back into bad habits!

Day one- green leather a-line skirt and green jumper - Whistles, boots- Daniel.

@cathyandclare ( were you a 'Jackie' reader too?) yes, all welcome! Fab outfit and what a good idea.

I popped on to gloat about my fabulous new high tops ( enabled by all you on this thread) which arrived today. From Boden £120 down to £48 in the sale. I absolutely love them and don't know why I've never looked at high tops before. I did have these in my basket for ages even before the sale but had dismissed them as not me. Thank you all for showing me the light! These are fur lined and so comfortable I will have to force myself to wear other shoes I think. There's another colourway which is lovely but more ££

Excuse messy spare room and trail of cat food which is meant to be luring kitten out from under bed ( not worked so far)

@cathyandclare I'm the same in that I work from home and find I'm much more productive if I wear "work clothes" rather than slobbing around in comfy stuff. I think it's a mindset thing. I love your outfit, you look great. 😊

I forgot to post yesterday. Spent the morning in riding gear, then changed into Zara knitted cuffed joggers and hoodie. Comfortable, and not smart at all, but I still felt more pulled together than I would usually in my previous "comfy clothes".

Today is very similar to my previous days so far. I'm wondering if I'm stuck in a bit of a style rut. I wear quite similar clothes a lot of the time. I'm comfortable and feel happy in them, though, so maybe it doesn't matter? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Bodysuit - Zara, via TK Maxx. I've not worn it before, it's just been sitting in the drawer, so this thread has inspired me!
Strap top underneath - don't know, it's ancient. Probably Tesco.
Trousers - same as the other day, Lucy & Yak, just a different colour.
Boots - same as before, 2nd hand, unsure of brand.

I bought a 2nd hand pair of DMs on Facebook the other day. So excited for them to arrive, they've been on my list for ages and were super reasonably priced, so I felt like it was justifiable.

Great outfits ladies. I am totally letting the style side today, lol. Major slouch day. God, I love a slouch day. Slogan tee from god knows where (ancient), embarrassingly baggy leggings (impulse buy in Sainsbury’s an eon ago), slouchy socks from Marks. As you see my doggie is in a rather natty jumper from Pets at Home!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 24/01/2020 15:21

Hi, I keep coming on and off the WAYWT threads, but I've been working from home loads plus could do with shopping my wardrobe for a bit as I've got enough lovely clothes to last me almost indefinitely...

Hello to all the new peeps and the stalwarts, I'm going to try and post daily to keep me on track. Loads of great outfits on here.

Easy today, DH and I both work from home so tend to sneak out for a slightly boozy lunch on a Friday.

Cashmere jumper - LkBennet
Straight leg jeans - Jospeh
Boots - White Company
Coat- APC from about nine years ago.
Belt - John Lewis

Lots of new people - welcome!

Lovely dresses @Ellapaella @OublietteBravo

Feel better soon @happytobemrsg

@cathyandclare I’m another home worker (sometimes) and have a toddler so also joined this thread to get me into better habits Smile . I love your outfit and especially that skirt. You look smart & stylish.

@Sooverthemill I love your high tops, I’m so jealous of the fur Envy . Enjoy them.

@toastfiend you look cool (again). I’m tempted by those trousers. Do they need ironing? Also what’s the sizing like (I’m 5ā€7 and size 10-ish (8 in M&S / 12 in Topshop))

@ILikeyourHairyHands working from home is great but plays havoc with your style I find! You look very nice though, jealous of your lunch plans.

Today:
Dress - Whistles (charity shop) have included close up of pattern due to rubbish photo
Boots - Moda in Pelle (second hand boutique)

ILikeyourHairyHands · 24/01/2020 18:51

Toastfiend does look very cool in a new-wave, electro way. It's the kind of style I always envy for its slouchy insouciance but just doesn't work for me. I was looking at Kibbe styles after someone on another thread mentioned them and I'm obviously a dramatic, which is why, no matter how much I hanker after boho and slouchy styles and the effortless cool it confers, it just never, ever works for me.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 24/01/2020 18:55

Love your boots Kite.

KiteflyingKat · 24/01/2020 20:36

Interesting @ILikeyourHairyHands . Is that to do with body shape?

KiteflyingKat · 24/01/2020 20:38

I also hanker after effortless cool, but think I probably suit smarter clothes better?

ILikeyourHairyHands · 24/01/2020 20:44

It is Kite, look up Kibbe types. I definitely suit very structured clothes, I'm tall and angular, with very wide shoulders and long limbs. And my face and body-type are quite masculine. I've always had a very strong style, when I read about Kibbe types it suddenly made sense!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 24/01/2020 20:45

And also made me realise when I've tried a more laid-back style it just never works.

happytobemrsg · 24/01/2020 21:31

Hello to all the newbies! This thread is getting BUSY!

I love your idea of wearing something different everyday for a set time @cathyandclare. My only issue would be my lounging around clothes - I have young DC so I wouldn’t want to wear my nice clothes when we are staying in. Maybe I could do it on days I leave the house??

Really love your new trainers @Sooverthemill so much so that I went on the Boden website to look at their trainers & found these beauties: www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/emily-trainers-gold-metallic/sty-a0631-gld?cat=C1_S2_G11# unfortunately I’m sticking to my no spend but they are soooooo pretty šŸ˜

Your style is so cool @toastfiend. I’m another one who wants to look effortlessly cool but I end up looking scruffy. Your look is perfect.

Another day in A&E for me today. Feeling really rough to be honest. So it was a leggings & jumper kind of day. Definitely not photo worthy. Hoping tomorrow will be a better day!

PalacePaper · 24/01/2020 23:27

It's lovely to see this thread so busy, and welcome to the new posters. As always, I'm loving seeing everyone's outfits and getting lots of ideas.

@happytobemrsg sounds like you've had a rough few days. I hope you feel better soonļæ¼. Thank you for your comment on my scarf. I read a blog post about them and got a bit obsessed ļæ¼but the leopard print is the only one that really works for me - I find most are too bulky somehow.

@oubliettebravo I LOVE your silk dress. And love the idea of not saving things for best, I need to embrace that.

@cathyandclare your leather skirt looks fantastic.

@shadesofwinte I also love your skirt.

And @kiteflyingkat, as ever, I am very jealous of your charity shops Grin

Here's some outfits from me. Work day yesterday - joules dress with stars and Clark's boots. Day off today - old denim skirt and cashmere jumper, new trainers (no spend fail - but they are replacing an old pair). Meal out this evening - warehouse skirt and M&S jumper.

Thanks for the welcome. I love your looks- be prepared for some -copying- emulation!

I too would love to look cool and slouchy like @Toastfiend but my height and bodyshape don't seem to suit it. Maybe I'm just choosing the wrong stuff? Will look up kibbe @Ilikeyourhairyhands, thanks! Hope you had a lovely lunch, love the outfit, especially the APC coat.

Great dress @KiteflyingKat- it looks stylish and relaxed- and saving the planet too. Win win. @PalacePaper love the skirt.

Still in my PJs at the moment, but will get dressed soon.

Talisin · 25/01/2020 08:42

@cathyandclare (another former Jackie reader here) I love your green leather skirt from yesterday. I keep looking longingly at a similar one from Hush but can’t justify the price. Nice high tops, @Sooverthemill

Working Saturday today (and next Sat as well, oh joy Hmm)
Jumper (really old from Next sale)
Ruched skirt (Hush)
Boots (New Look)
Crombie coat (Primark)

@happytobemrsg I'm sorry you've been so unwell, I hope it gets sorted sort and you start to feel better.

Today I'm trying on the new black star hush boyfriend jeans which I'm not sure about. I may not keep them on, I may send them back! Different denim from usual soft hush jeans and they are much bigger! Although good for post Christmas tummy I think a 6 would have been a better fit. So I'm testing them for half an hour to see before deciding whether to return

Jumper: local boutique
Jeans: hush sale but past season ( I think 2018)
Shoes: kurt Geiger
