Honesty please - can I wear this?

Work Christmas do - would need to add a couple of stitches so it at least covers my bra but not sure how well it would then sit.

Grey tights - yay or nay? Dress is bright red, would black be better?

Assuming my burgundy ankle boots are out so planning on looking for a black pair in the week.

Will I look ok or do I need to go back to the drawing board - roast me please, would prefer it here than at the party.

RTFT everyone - OP has already said she’s going to return it and had suggested some alternatives!

Ohh or the green one , I have a dress with that type of hem and it feels very swishy , greatfir dancing

TheCatInAHat · 15/12/2019 19:12

The colour looks great on you. ASOS might be worth a look. I have this and it’s pretty and flattering. Looks nice with thick black tights and heels.

Sarcelle · 15/12/2019 19:13

Sorry but it is not flattering at all. It is too small.

ReginaGeorgeous · 15/12/2019 19:13

The original red dress is a nice dress, but it looks like it's too small for you. I like the black Next dress you've posted, really classy.

Sarcelle · 15/12/2019 19:14

Just saw new links, 2nd and 3rd ones are nice.

puds11 · 15/12/2019 19:14

Lace yoke or grace kelly one would be nice

Boohoo has some nice dresses. The green with the knot you posted is also nice.

Some lovely alternative dresses on here.

3luckystars · 15/12/2019 19:17

I agree.

twinnywinny14 · 15/12/2019 19:18

I love both the freeman’s ones or the simply be one someone else posted

Makemeaname · 15/12/2019 19:18

Not a fan of the curtains on the floor look, @anyfucker? Good thing you're not invited so you won't have to deal with the mess.

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 ooh that is nice but unfortunately not in stock in anything close to my size. Bet you look good in it Smile

Why does it matter if colleagues see you in a dress you’ve worn before?

Different accessories (if you’re bothered)and wear it again

faevern · 15/12/2019 19:22

The dress is too small, a stitch won’t hold. If it’s formal dress you need something that fits well, try different sizes. I like the first and last one you posted.

RumbleDoll · 15/12/2019 19:22

Love the Next green dress.

Makemeaname · 15/12/2019 19:23

@puds11 which colour do you think in the lace yoke? Navy is nice but it's my safety colour, think the emerald could work?

OP posts:
Makemeaname · 15/12/2019 19:24

@HermioneWeasley not so much that they've seen me in it before, but that it's something I regularly wear for a normal day at the office so doesn't feel particularly special.

Lovely neckline on you but maybe just a bit too low. A cami vest or a stitch would make the difference. Otherwise lovely!

Noviceoftheweek · 15/12/2019 19:25

It’s far too tight and poorly fitting on the top. I think you could do a lot better.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/12/2019 19:26

No, you definitely can't wear the red one. I tried this on at the weekend, and quite liked it. It's very cheap too!

puds11 · 15/12/2019 19:26

@Makemeaname is definitely go for the emerald, it’s lovely!

knewyouwerewaiting · 15/12/2019 19:27

I would stick with traditional black. I also like the green Next one you linked.
