I'm a size 10/12 and she's measuring me as a 36, that can't be right can it?!

I came as I lost 2stone and my old 34DD bras are too big in the cup, admittedly not the back but

I wouldn't have thought so.am a 10/12 up top and bravissimo measure me as a 32 but I find that too tight so I get a 34. 36 would be massive!

juneybean · 11/12/2019 13:23

Surely not, I'm a size 16-18 and I'm a 34 band...

INeedNewShoes · 11/12/2019 13:23

M&S are notorious for measuring the band too big.

Go to John Lewis or Bravissimo

KatharinaRosalie · 11/12/2019 13:30

Ask the numbers she measured. The underbust inches = bra band size. Then go up about 3 cup sizes from what she said to start with. If she says you're 36, you probably need a 32, if not 30.

BelfastNonBlonde · 11/12/2019 13:34

M&S measure big I think

Spudlet · 11/12/2019 13:37

Don’t M&S add several inches onto your actual measurement or something? So you end up with a bigger band size and smaller cup size than you actually need. I don’t think anywhere else does it like that these days.

Last time I tried M&S (years ago!) they tried to get me into something like a 38A, which I’m not sure is even a size that is made Confused Bravissimo put me in something like a 32D, which was much better!

Choufleur · 11/12/2019 13:38

Go somewhere else. M&S are shite at bra fitting

BertsFriend · 11/12/2019 13:42

M&S are terrible at bra fittings, they measured me as a 36 B, and after a couple of years I went to a small independent bra shop to be fitted - I'm a 32 D. I'm also a size 10 and I'd be very surprised if you've a 36" band.

I spend two years constantly fidgeting with my bra and I can date old photos from how badly fitting my bra was. I'd go somewhere else to be fitted.

RandomWordsandaNumber5 · 11/12/2019 13:43

Go to Bravissimo or try the Boob or Bust website and measure yourself.
M and S are well known for poor measuring

Berrylove · 11/12/2019 13:48

I’m a size 10/12 and have always been a 36 and in some stores a 38 is better. My friend is a size 14 and she’s a 34 so I don’t understand how it works

WellTidy · 11/12/2019 13:49

M&S measure me as a 36AA. I am actually a shallow cupped 32C. Size 12 tops.

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 11/12/2019 13:51

They add 4 inches. You’ll be a 32.

mateysmum · 11/12/2019 13:51

Just got my aged mil some new bras. MnS 40aa independent shop 36c. I know which fit best!

NotYourHun · 11/12/2019 13:52

I remember M&S putting a young probably 12/13 year old me in a 34B. I was a wait of a child! It wasn’t until I was about 15 that I realised I should have been in a 28E all along.

orangeteal · 11/12/2019 13:53

I'm a 10/12 and 32/34 (34 the nearer to Christmas we get!) has she put you in a smaller cup?

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 11/12/2019 13:53

You’re not a 36 at size 10/12 berrylove. You’ll need to go down in the back and up in cup size.

KatharinaRosalie · 11/12/2019 13:53

Berry you probably need to go up in cup size, not back. Put your bra on backwards, so hooks are in front. How far can you pull it fron your body? If more than about an inch or 2, the back is too big.

mousemousse · 11/12/2019 13:53

Size 10/12 you'll be band of 28-32 and then a bigger cup size than m&s are telling you. M&s told me 38C (I'm a size 12) but I'm actually a 30FF and it's so much comfier!

fluffiphlox · 11/12/2019 13:55

Get out of there now! 😀
Bravissimo is your friend

BaolFan · 11/12/2019 13:57

M&S measured me as a 42C. Went to Bravissimo and I'm a 36H.

The M&S bra made my tits look like shit. The Bravissimo bras are great, supportive and I don't get any back pain now.

KatharinaRosalie · 11/12/2019 13:58

I spent years in a 36D, thinking it's normal that you have 4 boobs and bra climbing up your back..
I'm a 30FF. My back and shoulders no longer hurt.

Bebby80 · 11/12/2019 13:58

Nope. I’m a size 16 and a 34, sometimes even a 32

Ironfloor269 · 11/12/2019 13:58

M&S and Debenhams are crap at bra measuring. The last time I tried Debenhams, the girl said I'm a 34. She measured me over my rather thick jumper. Didn't even ask me to remove it down to the bra. When I tried on a 34 bra, which was clearly too big around the bust, she said I'll have to fasten to the last hook. Wtf is that about?

Acunningruse · 11/12/2019 14:03

Walked out an now in bravissimo
