Don’t like myself in anything I’ve tried , tried a million dresses and I have a wedding to go to in December . Not in a church , don’t think it will be too posh an affair .
I already had this top and I’m now trying it with the skirt in the same pattern .
Could I make this work ?
Please be kind 🙂

Im not over keen on the shiny material with the green dress but I do like green and the ghost dress looks quite nice too but the issue I have is that I am 5ft 1 and a lot of things just drown me .

You should put on a tight T-shirt and leggings (both the same colour if possible) snd share a picture so that we can see your shape and then advise you better. Could you also maybe share a photo of last time you felt fab in a dress/dresses up?

Atalune · 09/12/2019 16:24

What’s the budget?

That shape and style is so all Over at the minute you have tons of choice!

The colour and the fabric weight are not doing you any favours and you have a lovely figure!

Atalune · 09/12/2019 16:26

this with long boots and a berry coloured winter coat and a felt fedora hat

You’d look great in that!

Defaultuser · 09/12/2019 16:31

I love it! I think it's very boho :)

thefootofourstairs · 09/12/2019 16:32

No Leggings to put on at the moment scifi and no photos of me dressed up because o haven’t done for a very long time ! But , I am 5ft 1 . Size 8- 10 . 32b boobs . Bigger round the stomach and bum than the top half .
Budget , up to £150

I’m going to go against the grain, I like it. You’ve got fab ankles, I think some dark heels and a jacket and it could like great. There’s a darkish red/russet colour in the pattern you could pick out?

StarlingsInSummer · 09/12/2019 16:38

With the best will in the world, it’s really unflattering. I’m sorry. I suppose Laura Ashley type chic is in style at the moment though? Certainly all the leggy attractive 20 year olds in my office seem to be dressing in their gran’s clothes at the moment. You look like you have a lovely figure, I’m sure you could find something much more attractive to wear.

Sooverthemill · 09/12/2019 16:43

What about this from the Ghost sale? It's not too expensive and you could have it shortened if you feel it's too long. Wear with knee length boots

Tippexy · 09/12/2019 16:49

You're not a 32B Wink so a new bra in your actual size might be good too!

Yetanotherwinter · 09/12/2019 16:55

The colour is a bit wispy washy. I would go for a stronger colour. You have a fabulous figure so I would maybe go for something a bit more fitted.

onalongsabbatical · 09/12/2019 17:04

@Sooverthemill that's gorgeous! OP that one looks spot on to me - great colours and good shape for you.

BlueEyedBengal · 09/12/2019 17:06

You have a figure anyone would want so if I had that figure there's no way I'd be hiding it in so that baggy. You could ware anything and show it off but still be modest. There are some great dresses in m&s and you can see what size bra you are at the same time and the budget you have is plenty to get that outfit you want.

Bluntness100 · 09/12/2019 17:09

Honestly that's really drab, frumpy and unflattering op. You've a great figure and that just drowns in you little house of the prairie vibes.

Something more fitted in a more solid colour would work better for you and make you look great.

Sooverthemill · 09/12/2019 17:13

@onalongsabbatical haha I thought it was great and I'm trying to work out if I could possibly ever have an occasion to wear it to myself ( answer: nope).

Bluntness100 · 09/12/2019 17:18

I like this, it's a good winter colour, they have it in your size and it's reduced so within budget.

Sooverthemill xmas parties? I've got no excuse for it either (besides I need to get rid of a couple sacks of clothes before I buy so much as a sock!). Grin

thefootofourstairs · 09/12/2019 18:13

Quite like that one bluntness

Sarcelle · 09/12/2019 18:18

What about clinching it in with a wide suede belt. An emerald green one perhaps. It would make it look less blousy.

StrayWoman · 09/12/2019 18:19

I love the beige dress.

keepingbees · 09/12/2019 19:12

What about this one I've just seen on Boden? £98

grownup2 · 09/12/2019 19:14

I think the outfit has possibilities if you wear it with a bit of something modern and bold to counterpoint - eg bold and interesting lipstick, hair updo, and/or very on trend footwear or jacket.

natashaaaaa · 09/12/2019 19:16

Why not rent one from a place like Hurr.

Fidgety31 · 09/12/2019 19:23

I think it looks a nightie and you’re ready for bed !

How about something more fitted and shorter ?
I’m not very tall either and find long loose dresses just make me look frumpy.
