I'm trying to diet and then up pops a family meal, long day out, Christmas etc. So many events but nothing compared to most celebs social life!

Great question. Are they just more vain and therefore more determined?

chipsandpeas · 23/11/2019 22:16

personal trainers and dieticians are likely

Allegorical · 23/11/2019 22:16

They have personal trainers knocking on their doors at 5 in the morning. The time to train as don’t have 9-5 type jobs. Will power as their ability to earn a living depends on it. Easier Access to healthy food.

Gwenhwyfar · 23/11/2019 22:19

They probably don't get people going 'oh go on, go on' to get them to eat bad food as people understand their living is linked to how they look. And also obviously plenty of money to be able to get professional support.

Bluntness100 · 23/11/2019 22:21

Well they don't go to these things every day and pig out. It's perfectly feasible to go to a dinner or event and stay within a calorie count. You just don't put additional stuff in your mouth.

Weenurse · 23/11/2019 22:22

Drugs, dietician and personal chef?

PenelopeFlintstone · 24/11/2019 00:55

I wonder if they take duromine?

managedmis · 24/11/2019 01:01

They adjust the week accordingly. So 2000 cals on a Saturday, 1000 cals each day for the rest of the week.

safariboot · 24/11/2019 01:14

Partly that when you know that your livelihood directly depends on it, keeping or changing your body becomes that much easier.

Partly that with a few exceptions, if you don't look conventionally attractive in the first place you probably won't become a 'celeb'.

missyoumuch · 24/11/2019 01:16

I went to a very expensive doctor for a health issue but he is based in a clinic that offers “aesthetic” medicine. He said there is an injection that was created for diabetes patients that turns out to cause weight loss. According to him there are high profile patients in the clinic who use this but it’s expensive and has a lot of side effects.

Weight loss surgery, personal trainers, lipo

MilliiMoo · 24/11/2019 01:25

Eating disorders

momoney1 · 24/11/2019 01:27

Cocaine

Timetobegood · 24/11/2019 05:18

They have more incentive than the rest of us.

I read that they starve themselves for four days before a red carpet event.

Chattybum · 24/11/2019 05:26

Speed. Melts the fat off your bones. Couldn't work out why my friend got so skinny after uni. Now I know. Weight loss and heart palpitations.

Chattybum · 24/11/2019 05:27

*Resulted in weight loss and heart palpitations

I don't think it's that difficult if you exercise, stick to healthy food options and have little or no alchohol.

Exactly. Suggesting that celebs are repeatedly having lipo, or are all druggies is a bit silly. Sure some might, like any member of the public, but the reality is if you exercise and stick to a healthy diet then it's not hard. Going to an event doesn't mean you need to sit and eat and drink everything that comes your way.

justilou1 · 24/11/2019 06:14

None of them has eaten a single carb since 1994

ploopsie · 24/11/2019 06:25

Yes that's not hard but most celebs are teeny so being "sensible" doesn't really cut it. Imo of working in the fashion industry (modelling, mags & buying) incredibly restrictive eating, over exercising, smoking, drugs etc is fairly normal.

RuggyPeg · 24/11/2019 08:09

I find that alcohol actually makes me skinnier (dehydration probably), so I can go out, eat hardly anything, drink whatever and wake up the next day feeling fine. Staying super thin requires eating morsels only though on a daily basis. I have a very beautiful, very slight, size 6 friend who goes to events 3-4 nights a week and I've rarely seen her eat.

Palaver1 · 24/11/2019 08:22

Medication,smoking,hardly eat a thing,Lips
Etc
Some exercise some don’t also at an age where it’s easier for the weight to drop off.
The incentive is it’s their livelihood to look this way

TiceCream · 24/11/2019 08:28

Money! Swimming pool and gym in the house. Personal trainer, nutritionist and chef. Nannies for kids, no job to go to. Basically money and more money that gives them the freedom and the facilities to focus on their looks.

FrogCat · 24/11/2019 08:32

I think it’s probably a combination of a lot of help to stay motivated - personal trainers, people to prepare low calorie meals etc - and the motivation/ pressure that comes from being photographed constantly or needing to keep up a glamorous social media presence.

I’m pretty sure drugs play a part with some, too. I modelled briefly in my youth and cocaine and amphetamine use was rife. Many models were also chain smokers, which suppressed appetite.

BeatriceTheBeast · 24/11/2019 08:34

I remember a similar thread re Royals and I said the same thing on there that I think about celebrities.

I imagine their lives are so busy and exciting that they don't feel the need to eat crap food. Almost everyone, in the run up to their wedding, loses weight with ease IME, if they want to. Even with all the events in the run up, hen parties, family meals, drinks out. It's being busy and the knowledge that loads of people will be looking at you and taking your photo, as an added incentive. For celebrities, their whole lives are like that and I imagine their lives are lower in stress, as they don't have to (although some choose to) do all their own childcare etc.
