What shampoo and conditioner do you use?

I’m after a new shampoo and conditioner, I’ve used Herbal Essence for the past few years but recently my hair has lost its shine and my roots are starting to go greasy after a day. I’m not sure if this is due to my shampoo / conditioner or age...but want to switch up my routine.

Does anyone have any recommendations or tips on what to avoid? I’ve been suggested the Body Shop Banana shampoo and conditioner but not sure how I feel about banana scented hair!

I use the body shop banana shampoo and conditioner most days and so does my daughter and thankfully not noticed any banana smells afterwards Grin
We both have fairly fine hair, mine straight shoulder length and hers long and extremely curly and it seems to suit both equally well.

Dove is the best mainstream one I've found.

Ineedcctv · 23/11/2019 18:34

Faith in Nature Rosemary shampoo and conditioner. They do lots of different flavours. Online and in Holland and Barrett and health food shops.
I have thick bouncy hair and it makes it v shiny and smoother.

Aussie Volume, both shampoo and conditioner, and the spray-in Aussie detangling/conditioner stuff after that. The smell is wonderful!

keepingbees · 23/11/2019 18:37

I like Superdrug's own version of Pantene.
Dove and VO5 and also good cheapies.

Soul and Soap shampoo bar, tresemme conditioner until it runs out, then I'll order some soul and Soap conditioner bars.

Tigi Bed Head Recovery2 is the best I have found so far.

NearWildHeaven · 23/11/2019 18:45

Charles Worthington Volume and Bounce for my oily at the roots / lank at the ends hair

Pinkarsedfly · 23/11/2019 18:46

Olaplex. Game changer.

Purology Hydrate, I've used it over a year now after my hairdresser used it on my hair, and I'll be repurchasing. The 1 litre bottles have lasted a year so far, and hopefully about 3 months left in them.

clarec86 · 23/11/2019 18:57

Aussie pure locks or lush solid shampoo and conditioner.
The solid conditioner is a bit of a pita but it leaves my hair feeling lovely.
I used to like John Frieda too but haven't used it in ages.

Aveda Shampure and Paul Mitchell The Conditioner when my scalp is behaving

Body Shop Ginger Shampoo + Conditioner when my psoriasis flares up.

I buy the Ginger shampoo for DH but I never liked the effect on my hair until they brought out the conditioner to match it .

No longer searching for the Holy Grail of shampoo and being disappointed .
