We aren't going too far this year, got immediate family coming to us Smile I'm torn between:

A) Getting dressed up and looking all swish
B) Getting a novelty Christmas dress/jumper
C) Being a slob Grin

What are you wearing? Bonus points for pics!

I think this sparkly dress that has just arrived:

Maybe with navy sparkly tights too!

I favor a jumper dress at Christmas, my favorite being a black slouchy 80s style fitting one with silver shot through, I've also got a burgundy roll neck one which is lovely too. This year no clue as I'll be traveling. Probably jeans and a jumper! 😁

I missed that bit.

After dinner nap.

I'm having my first Christmas Day next Sunday, we're going out in the day and back to DS house for dinner so I'm thinking black trousers and one of my Christmas t-shirts.

Oldraver · 24/11/2019 15:30

Pyjamas for most of the day (after showering, I dont wear PJ's in bed)

For dinner I will wear one of two Christmas dresses I have

Leggings, jersey dress (I have a burgundy long sleeved skater dress this year) , fluffy soft socks, and slippers. Possibly a cardigan or jumper if it gets colder. Basically as close to pyjamas as possible, without actually being pyjamas.

BusterGonad · 26/11/2019 01:10

I'm off to purchase a Christmas nail polish today, I'm hoping to get an Opi glitter red or green!

Redcherries · 26/11/2019 08:49

What is that Christmas lady holding? Initially I thought a tv remote control but if it is its an odd shape.

I'm not sure what to wear yet, caught between pjs then comfortable faux leather leggings and a Christmas top or tights with a Christmas jumper dress or to make everyone get dressed up. We have 2 weekends of family before where it will be quite relaxed so might just go with the comfort theme :)

If you mean me. Sunglasses. Grin

I love dressing up for Christmas Day! I'm going to be wearing a black top with puffy polka dot organza sleeves and a dark red satin midi skirt. Then I'll change into my Christmas PJs quite early, about 4-5pm, and pop my Christmas jumper on over them ready for board games and nibbles.

Allthepinkunicorns · 26/11/2019 19:28

I'm wearing a stripped Christmas top from joules I got it a couple of years ago and it's not too thick. I don't want to be too hot when cooking the Christmas dinner. I will wear it with a black cord skirt and tights. I might do a fancy up do with my hair and some red lippy.

onemorecakeplease · 26/11/2019 21:19

Hmm probably a dress and leggings

Or black jeans and a top? I don't know

Mainly pjs for the most part tho until we have to go out and visit people!

ruthieness · 26/11/2019 21:24

I have worn the same dress - plum stretchy velour dress from monsoon on Christmas day for the last 30 years!

BusterGonad · 27/11/2019 09:49

ruth I like your dedication! 😁

happytobemrsg · 28/11/2019 23:21

Changed my mind. Going to wear this

Pjs all morning until we need to go see PIL. Then it will be jeans, one of my many Christmas T-shirt’s, cosy cardigan for keeping warm (inlaws house is freezing). I have been on the lookout for a nice oversized Christmas sweatshirt so I may wear that instead if I can find one I like. I usually bring my sheepskin slippers with me and change into them when we arrive.

Afterwards we will be going to my family for a few hours for a bit of a Christmas party (more music and drinks than formal party). I will probably just keep on the same outfit all day. I tend to bring a pair of pjs or similar for DD to change into later on so she can basically just head straight to bed when we get back in - usually pretty late so it works out better that way.

My family are a casual bunch on Christmas but in laws tend to dress up more. I personally don’t like fancy dresses and the like when I’m eating loads and sitting in the floor helping build toys/ play board games etc with the children so I go for comfort.

JaJoJe · 22/12/2019 22:43

I bought a new dress like every year but I like to dress up, no one else does. (that said I wont both with hair/make up etc... to sit at home)

Tinyandpetite · 23/12/2019 23:46

I’ll be wearing this red dress!

Do you know what you're wearing Christmas Day?
AmICrazyorWhat2 · 23/12/2019 23:52

@nicslackey Something with lots of give around the stomach area!
Grin

That's exactly my approach! I have a biased cut dress, black with red flowers that's v. flattering and I'll pair it with heels. Will probably substitute the heels for slippers while cooking.

So I'll look dressed up with lots of give around the waistline. Grin

LuluJakey1 · 24/12/2019 00:46

Mauve velvet dress that I have had for a few years. It is A line so has a bit of room in it, with flat shoes and opaque navy blue tights. I will no doubt spend a lot of time on the floor with Ds and DD.

kemosabeimalive · 24/12/2019 06:52

I’m going to wear this Gudrun dress with a violet scarf! Xmas Smile

ruthieness · 25/12/2019 21:07

this is the dress I have been wearing on every Christmas day since the 80's
