I think we're on thread no 24 - appropriate for the upcoming advent fun!

My sample of by the fireplace arrived. Unfortunately it’s horrid on me - massive hit of vanilla with a bit of something else sweet and cloying (would that be cashmeran?). Not fireplacey.

SOTD Mojave Ghost.

I need to get rid of some stuff. Do people think it’s better to sell unfinished bottles whole or as decants?

KaliforniaDreamz · 21/01/2020 19:54

I had PP By the fireplace and it was awful on me too i gave it to a mate.

Imstinkyeddie · 21/01/2020 19:55

I marinate myself in it!! :)

FloraMacDonald · 21/01/2020 21:12

Does anyone else suddenly go off perfumes they previously loved? I usually change my mind straight after I've bought a FB!
I've been loving Tea Tonique, put it on today and just thought it smelt of antiseptic. Ggrrr! I couldn't get enough of it last week. Do you think it's hormones?

Imstinkyeddie · 21/01/2020 21:42

I think it would make sense

MrsMoggs · 21/01/2020 22:37

Evening, best wishes to All.

Flora - I wonder if when you wear something a lot, you start not to receive it so faithfully (in the same way that you become inured to smells in your daily surroundings?).

teta · 22/01/2020 10:23

I reckon hormones have a huge influence in how things smell on your skin. Since going on Hrt I've started wearing florals again, having previously gone completely off them. A lot of perfumes I'd previously loved didn't smell good any more due to the falling oestrogen levels. Being premenstrual also changed my perfume perception.
Sotd is the beautiful oakmossy Apercu perfume, for another miserable murky day.

Imstinkyeddie · 22/01/2020 10:31

Sotd 4160 fluffy lemon tops

At the Dentists for a chrckup.

Ds1 not well...hes on steroids for hos asthma/cough :(

Car making funny noises...you can tell dh is away!!

KaliforniaDreamz · 22/01/2020 11:09

Flora i'm wirh you - Tea Tonique starting to irritate me now. i put it down to over use.
Have a drawer full of samples think i will wear one of those today.
teta I'm in the progesterone bit of my HRT and boy, do i know about it. foul mood. ugh.

Imstinkyeddie · 22/01/2020 11:25

I've had to give up on hrt.

Can't use the patches dueto dermatitis amd can't get them anyway...

Tried oestrogel but cant take oral hormones so can't take the prog tablets...

Sigh.

My brain has turned to mush :(

I disliked tea tonique...it smelt sour on me

FloraMacDonald · 22/01/2020 13:38

Interesting. The day Tea Tonique started to annoy me was the day I switched from oestrogen to progesterone in my hrt pills.

Miller Harris have a 50% off sale, for anyone who isn't currently irritated by Tea Tonique. Grin

FloraMacdonald · 22/01/2020 13:55

btw, I'm piling into the LangCleg debacle, so if I disappear, I've been banned.
Grin

KaliforniaDreamz · 22/01/2020 14:14

I nearl gave up on HRT as it seemed to stop working, went up to max dose of gel and felt so panicky all the time so reduced slightly and seems to be good again, altough i do still get the lows (feel rubbish today.)
sorry to derail perfume into hormones ha ha

Imstinkyeddie · 22/01/2020 15:07

Me too flora !!

If I disappear (had my account locked already...) you'll know why!....

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/01/2020 21:30

SOTD MH L’Air de Rien. I went out without a coat today, just my leather jacket! (I did have a massive scarf on, but progress!) Here are my spring-y tulips. 💐

MrsMoggs · 22/01/2020 23:41

I love the oestrogen days Smile.

That's interesting Teta. Guess it could be how hormones affect your sense perception, as well as how they affect the smell of your skin?

KaliforniaDreamz · 23/01/2020 09:36

I think i may be progesterone intolerant and have tried all suggestions but still get very low/anxious/irritable. i know it will pass but hard when you're in it.

also feeling so fat. have gone up a size since starting HRT.

SOTD a mix of Timeless and Tea Tonique. I smell part old lady part bubblegum. Got some writing work to do and a food shop. Exciting times.

How ru all?

FloraMacdonald · 23/01/2020 11:19

Eddie, are you still here? I had a DM from someone I don't recognise and I can't reply using this NC for some reason.

MrsMoggs · 23/01/2020 11:39

Kali with you are on HRT weight gain and the Tea Tonique today. Haven't tried the oil formula properly before. There's an accord in there that reminds me a bit of a very much more refined Sunshine and Pancakes.

Speaking of which, does anyone know when the sale starts?

teta · 23/01/2020 12:05

La Fille de Berlin is my Sotd . Plus a spray of Lavender on my clothes.
I must be the exception but I love Progesterone.I take the natural one - utrogestan, at night where it helps me sleep. The few days I don't have it, I find it tricky to get to sleep. It's miserable and foggy today here and so depressing. I've even taken the dog for a walk and feel no better.
Anyone know how to remove my post pink highlight? I keep on clicking to remove it under the customise setting but it doesn't appear to be working.

KaliforniaDreamz · 23/01/2020 14:31

eddie if you're still here and not banned, your pint about taking the utrogestan orally - well you can take it another way!

Teta i am sleeping very badly at the moment but yes usually the utrogestan helps me with that, maybe it's not an intolerance to progesterone just an intolerance ot life.

Mrs do you get the rubbery bubblegum vibe i get?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/01/2020 15:41

SOTD FM Hiver. I'd forgotten how much I like this!

teta · 23/01/2020 16:12

I'm also sleeping really badly @KaliforniaDreamz. I keep on waking up because I'm too hot & sweaty. I've tried using 1 & 1/2 patches but feel too hormonal .
Yep, the utrogestan can definitely be taken another way.
@Judy I've copied you and have a big vase of blue hyacinths and yellow daffs.

MrsMoggs · 23/01/2020 22:32

Not sure I get it as bubblegum Kali - I like the opening minutes but it fades down to a lemony and very synthetic-smelling musk on me (oil formula)?

FloraMacdonald · 24/01/2020 09:30

Has anyone bought from FragranceX? They are extremely cheap - unbelievably so....
