Tailsin yes jacket came Saturday but I’m sending it back, unfortunately it’s just that bit too big, looks baggy on me & the sleeves are very long Bit gutted but least I have scratched the itch, so I’m bootless & jacketless boo hoo

Talisin · 03/02/2020 10:39

@dontcallmelen Shame Sad

My Whitby boots have been sent to the wrong delivery office, so I suspect they will not be arriving today...

Countmeout · 03/02/2020 10:41

My jacket is arriving today. Hopefully I’ll have ordered the right size if you found it big @dontcallmelen .

dontcallmelen · 03/02/2020 11:06

Count tis lovely quality leather, but I can get a big jumper underneath it & I would imagine it will stretch once it’s been worn a while, but it was the sleeves mainly they came down to my fingertips & no way of being shortened due to the zips, it was a very reluctant return😢 hope yours fits🤞🏻

Ninkanink · 03/02/2020 12:09

@whiskyremorse what a great haul! 👍

My boots have arrived. Perfect colour, perfect heel height, exactly what I wanted so they are a definite keeper! @Ellapaella Thank you for making me aware of them! 🌷

I also bought a denim jacket from Oasis last night because there was a 20% off the mid wash one that I missed out on last summer. I bought an indigo one last year instead which was nice but doesn’t go with my summer dresses particularly well. So now I have two quite different denim jackets ready for summer.

Caved and got a couple of make up items which I didn’t strictly need for my upcoming wedding - an Estée Lauder tinted lip balm which I hope to use instead of lipstick, and the Benefit Dandelion blusher. Both are nice and subtle which is what I want for the day.

Hmmm anything else I’m waiting on? Don’t think so, I’m currently waiting for eBay sales to replenish my fund and then I will order the jewellery that I want.

Oh yes! I ordered a little vintage 3-tier cake stand on eBay, which I’ll use to display and serve our profiteroles after the wedding (it’s only four of us celebrating so I’ll be approximating a wedding cake as cheaply as possible).

Oh this is the denim jacket.

Ninkanink · 03/02/2020 12:11

Oh also the reason I bought the make up was 20% off Estée Lauder and the blush was in the sale as well.

(@Ellapaella my habit of never saying everything I need to say in one post will definitely help this thread to fill up faster!)

Ellapaella · 03/02/2020 12:29

I love the make up @Ninkanink and the jacket 👌 and I'm so glad you like the boots, at £169 they would have been totally out of my budget but £55 they are a decent find. They totally transform an outfit, a very useful wardrobe addition. I really have far too many boots though, I don't know how I will find time to wear all my shoes!

@Countmeout come back and let us know what you think of the jacket.

Ninkanink · 03/02/2020 12:36

@Ellapaella I’m completely a footwear and bags person (and scarves, and coats, and uhm clothing in general, heh), it’s very rare that I go through a sales season without buying at least two-three pairs of boots so I’m chuffed that I’ve managed to stick to one this time, and, as you said, at such a good price. I’ve purged my wardrobe quite a bit over the past year and have let go quite a lot of much loved footwear (I think at least 35 pairs, probably up to 45), so I’m trying hard now to only buy pieces that will really add something to my wardrobe and are suitable to wear across lots of outfits. I do still want a pair of boots similar to your recent mint velvets and also another pair of Timberland boots but with a low heel. Probably Chelsea boots. But it’ll have to wait. Sigh.

dontcallmelen · 03/02/2020 13:15

Ooh Nink I got that jacket last summer wore it a lot, lovely Estée Lauder bits, I do like EL lasts well & the colours are very subtle 👍
Thankfully I’m not particularly fussed with boots & bags otherwise I would be locked up for debt, my lusts are shoes/sandals & jackets which lands me in enough trouble, cake stand sounds just lovely am also a sucker for pretty china oh dear I think I may need help😳

Countmeout · 03/02/2020 19:13

Love that lipstick @Ninkanink though I don’t think it’s my colour, it’s just so pretty. Nice denim jacket too, they’re so useful for summer it’s always a good buy.

My jacket arrived but I have been tied up doing childcare all afternoon and need to get a proper try on in daylight tomorrow. I think it’s a good fit, slipped it on over what I was wearing but need to try it with other things tomorrow. I was pleasantly surprised that the metal was silver which does suit me, the colour is blusher looking on a bright sunny day (which we had today - though it was blooming freezing) . I’ll report properly tomorrow.

Ninkanink · 04/02/2020 09:43

@dontcallmelen heh, I need help too...I have to work so hard at not getting obsessive about things as I’m naturally such a magpie, I want ALL THE THINGS!

@Countmeout I’m hoping it’ll be right - it’s so hard buying lip colours online. But I really want just the merest hint of colour so that my own lip colour comes through a bit.

Ninkanink · 04/02/2020 09:50

I went ahead and bought the jewellery - had major FOMO (it was sold out when I first looked it up so I think they do fairly small runs, have been antsy since I got the email notification saying it was back in stock) and there was a 15% off for Valentine’s.

Countmeout · 04/02/2020 10:09

Right here’s the jacket. Pulled it on with a couple of things this morning before getting face or hair sorted. I’m almost 100% sure I’ll keep it. It feels more comfortable each time I try it. Also think it goes with enough things I have.

Ooo I hadn’t finished. Green dress is my Hush Solana dress and those are my hush trainers @Sooverthemill. I only had a creased white top for the second. Not wearing either out today. Trying to get some wear out of a Toast knitted dress I got in the end of the sale( plus a couple of other things which is why I shouldn’t be buying the leather jacket but at least it’s not expensive) 😁

Countmeout · 04/02/2020 10:13

And it’s the best fitting leather jacket I’ve tried. I returned an All Saints one which wasn’t right in the shoulders for me and wasn’t keen on the metal.

Ninkanink · 04/02/2020 10:43

Oh it looks great!

I’m still mourning the 6 leather jackets I sold last year (they were too small and I was realistically not going to ever slim back into them) one of which was my perfect beigy/taupy colour. I’ve still got two, in forest green and burnt orange. Looking to add to my collection over the next few years - probably navy, burgundy and another in my perfect beige.

Ninkanink · 04/02/2020 11:29

Make up arrived today, and both are absolutely perfect so I’m a very happy bunny! 😊😊

Ellapaella · 04/02/2020 11:54

Ooh @Ninkanink I love the idea of an orange leather jacket - sounds amazing.
@Countmeout love your biker - looks lovely on you.

I've taken advantage of the final day of the sale and ordered this dress, wrap dresses suit me and at £27 it would be rude not to.
I hold my hands up and say I have failed miserably at no spend January. The sales have been too good. Will try my hardest next month.

@Ellapaella. Love that dress. Look forward to seeing how you style it.

I'm waiting for my Hush delivery - snail mail as I've still not got hush friends. Hmm

Have ordered the burgundy Battersea boots and hoping I love them. May have added a couple of other things too.

Sooverthemill · 04/02/2020 12:57

@Ellapaella it's true the sales overall have been so good haven't they? I've bought far more than I planned but think I can now avoid buying anything until summer gets well underway ( I'd like some white or ecru canvas trainers though)

Ninkanink · 04/02/2020 13:05

Thanks Ella it’s this one from Muubaa, it’s more orange irl.

I honestly think that it’s sensible to spend as much as possible in true sales seasons (so Dec/Jan, June/July and BF) and do no-spends in the intervening months. It’s better use of money which is the core aim, surely.

Ninkanink · 04/02/2020 16:45

@Ellapaella I love all your dresses. I’m going to get some in similar styles for summer (have had a few summers of liking very plain dresses, mostly linen but fancy a change this year), hopefully on eBay!

Talisin · 04/02/2020 21:38

My Whitby boots finally turned up and were my first ever Hush footwear fail. Just way too narrow at the toes sadly. I had also ordered the Natalya jumpsuit and sized down as per reviews, didn’t work for me, needed the top to be looser so that’s going back. I also got a pair of the midnight chamonix - beloved of @Laska2Meryls if I recall correctly - and they’re great, definite keeper. Finally I got the Olva necklace (small multicoloured lightning bolt) which is very cute and I’m also keeping.

Onward and upward to the Spring collection now I guess!
