In light of the several upcoming engagements for W&K while H&M allegedly take a 6 week break!

I like that but I was hoping to see the dress we only saw a glimpse of in a car last year. Possibly pink? A bit of a do for Charles?

itswinetime · 18/11/2019 18:36

Crossed post looks good to me hopefully there will be some close ups soon so we can really see details. Like shoes and jewels 🤞🏻

BertrandRussell · 18/11/2019 18:52

Ooh- proper long frock!

MotherofPearl · 18/11/2019 18:53

Looked great in motion! The skirt bit.

itswinetime · 18/11/2019 18:55

Front on look it's a nice dress but I'm thinking a diamond necklace would of set it of beautifully. It's probably not a diamond kind of event but why have so many jewels you hardly wear!

Kate looks beautiful, lovely dress and love her earrings

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/11/2019 19:00

It's similar to one she wore some years ago, which I think I prefer.

I think Camilla acted in such a despicable way (Charles too) that she should never be queen.

Kate looks ravishing in that dress. Just wish she and William would let it be known they don't want people bowing and curtseying to them.

MotherofPearl · 18/11/2019 19:04

@itswinetime - I suspect that for most of us on these threads, we don't think there's any outfit that wouldn't be improved by the addition of a diamond necklace. Wink

MakeMineALargeProsecco · 18/11/2019 19:06

I think I prefer the older dress too, Queen. It has a better neckline for her body shape (I think you need to be fairly busty to wear a sweetheart neckline well).

whitershadeofpale · 18/11/2019 19:10

I really like the dress but it’s crying out for a necklace and looks a bit unfinished because of it.

thisenglishlife · 18/11/2019 19:22

I liked Kate's dress when I first saw it, but the more I look at it, the less less I like it. The white background makes it look cheaper and it even looks a bit like it is sheer at times! The dress is too long as well - look how high the heels are and it is still touching the floor.

I like the print and the arms and I like the general shape of the dress. I like the velvet clutch and I like Kate's waves.

Someone posted a photograph on Twitter of the Queen attending the Royal Variety some years ago, it was tiara and diamonds all the way (and fur). She looked so glam!

thisenglishlife · 18/11/2019 19:23

I agree that the dress needs a necklace

MangoFeverDream · 18/11/2019 19:23

Think it looks a bit severe and drab, neckline does no favours. The older version looks better, if one likes black lace ...

BertrandRussell · 18/11/2019 19:25

I see what you mean now about it looking sheer. And now I can’t unsee it! I love the length, though, and the cut of the skirt.

itswinetime · 18/11/2019 19:26

@MotherofPearl very true. That dress in particular is crying out for a necklace though! On a side not though European royals don't seem scared of wearing some bling whereas over here it's like they are limited to five wears a year or something!

I think I prefer this years to the previous one only because I don't like the upside down v on her legs it looks funny agree the other neckline is better.

thisenglishlife · 18/11/2019 19:30

Kate looks wonderful in many colours... but, like most people, she can't pull off black.

Some classic HM ones (is that a white man in black face in the last photo?!).

First photo, was last pre-posting.

RomaineCalm · 18/11/2019 19:45

I like Kate's dress tonight, it's a bit different and nice to see her in a lower neckline and slightly scooped back. She looks fabulous in evening wear.

I'm just struggling with the placement of the 'nipples' in the fabric design. Someone pointed them out to me and now I can't 'unsee' them. Blush

RomaineCalm · 18/11/2019 19:47

Love the middle picture of HM thisenglishlife - her dress is amazing.

Gooseysgirl · 18/11/2019 19:52

I think Kate looks fabulous - hair is gorgeous as always. But I agree, not enough bling... ffs it's a great opportunity for a tiara 😄

Lunde · 18/11/2019 19:56

hisenglishlife - Some classic HM ones (is that a white man in black face in the last photo?!).

I think it is Lovelace Watkins - an American with African, Indian and Spanish heritage

StCharlotte · 18/11/2019 20:28

Oh FFS what is it with Kate and her nipple-frocks?! I was loving it until then.

Also, while it's nice to see her hair with the curls, I sooooo wish she'd lop a few inches. It's so Charlie's Angels!

I liked it like this...

I live the McQueen detail with the tiny little puffed shoulders.
