Following from thread 1 please feel free to tell us about your plus size outfits and post pictures to give us all a bit of inspiration.

Thanks chip! I tried it and looked a bit wrong with the boots for some reason, so I think I'll keep them long today.

I normally roll up, but with shoes rather than boots.

What type of shoes and bag to wear with opaque tights and a skirt or a dress non frilly for a night out meal drinks in town please? For context I am 54 (young
at heart) 6ft tall and plus sized 20. I bought some tan ankle boots lace up small heel which I love and ended up wearing but I wasn’t convinced. What would look better?

Phoebe I love your confidence!!!! Fantastic picture. Nancy I have a sequinned skirt I bought in oasis oddly enough last year. It was the day before my 40th birthday and it was £39 so I took that as fate 😂 mine is kind of pencil skirt ish but it falls looser on me. Must get it out this year. I Wear with chunky boots and a fitted character t shirt 👀. I need to catch up and I need to see if the poster with that fabulous dress and red petticoat has a picture up because that dress was stunning. I wore an amazing dress last night but wasn't smart enough to get a good picture. Everyone kept asking me where the dress was from though so that was nice

Just checking, those of you who are knocking 6' and a size 20 know you are perfectly proportioned, yes? Is madness to me to think of your clothes as plus sized, they are just scaled up! Those of us who are 5'6" and size 20 need extra width without the height.

The US tends to do sizing well- they have the same size but different fits- 'missy' for athletic builds, Woman for curvier fits and so on. At least, if I remember correctly from years ago they do. I could always get jeans that fit, in the US.

Tall ladies look out for Gudrun Sjödén clothes on eBay. They are pricy new, but are a great fit for Scandinavian builds!

Thanks Phoebe I tried full boots and two pairs of ankle boots. Have really chunky calves so the full boots didn’t look good and the ankle boots I tried tan and beige didn’t go well with navy tights. I ended up ushing out with tan ankle boots and a tan clutch bag but didn’t feel well put together.
Pickle thanks for that will look that brand up and check what ebay. Our local M&S for example caters for petite woman of a larger build and tall women up to a size 16. But you can’t seem to be tall and plus sized.
Yet with men my DH is 6ft 4 and on the big side DS is 6’3 and super skinny. DH is fairly well catered for but I struggle to find trousers with small enough waists with a long enough leg.

Maybe it was the colour/contrast of boots which were tan and beige with navy opaque tights or maybe I was being overly critical.

I'm raiding my other wardrobe today suitcase under the bed. Need help if that's OK. I suppose I'll have to post proper photos for this, I'd normally do anything to avoid them.

M&S flowery skirt (thrown on a jumper and jacket just for now). Bought for a winter event in the sale and worn once. Is it possible to dress this down for daywear or is it always going to look... wedding guest lost in the supermarket?

I love both of those outfits @TheSummoningDark! I especially love the skirt and think it looks ace as daywear.

I'm feeling a bit run down, so I am slobbing about the house today in Topshop Joni jeans and an eBay M&S tunic. Thankfully DS has gone for his nap so I will drag myself up to do some much needed housework in a minute.

I agree @TheSummoningDark both outfits look great on you and particularly love the skirt with leather jacket.

Boring outfit from me today, I look creased to death as I’ve had it on all morning in class and only just taking a picture now. Very skirt, tesco f&f cardigan which I think I might have stolen from my sister actually, and Sainsburys fox print shirt. You can’t see them but got Clark’s calf length boots on too.

Today I'm wearing the usual primary school teacher, wrap up and hope not to get paint in my jumper Kind of outfit! 😂 hoodie dress from new look and leggings with some tan boots! 😍

Thanks for the responses, the clothes are hanging up instead of stuffed in a suitcase so I've got no excuse now.

The "working with children" outfits are really helpful. It's the kick up the arse I need to make more effort day to day. It doesn't give me an excuse to buy clothes I hate and don't suit me just because little fingers cover me in pasta sauce.

I used to need 'working with children outfits'. It's not the sticky fingers so much as the need to be able to kneel, bend and sit without a little darling sticking their hands head up your skirt!

Today was a jeans and Tesco jumper day. That jumper is proving so easy to wear!

Happy belated birthday nancy i love tom kerridge's recipes so I'm sure you had a fantastic lunch, hope you feel better soon. @TheSummoningDark i really like the skirt and jacket on you, think it's really flattering and probably more on trend if you are into that sort of thing.
Re kid friendly clothes, this is exactly why i buy the majority of clothes in more budget shops, so I'm not so fussed if i get sticky fingers on them (although I do draw the line at heads up skirts ) Actually got a couple of nice jumpers in matalan yesterday with 30 %off knit wear too
