This dress with these boots?

I have this dress which fits like a dream. I am not tall like the model so it sits mid calf on me. Can I wear it with these leopard boots? Or i wonder if i should get it shortened and wear it with my regular knee highs?

I prefer it shorter. The second pic does nothing for you and you have a gorgeous figure. What does it look like with the leopard boots? If you wear it longer then go for a slight heel. The dress really suits you and you suit the boots too.

Bibybob · 02/11/2019 09:43

Your idea to dress it down seems fab to me
. I think the dress is made for you .. you will have many happy times in it .

Bloomburger · 02/11/2019 09:47

I'd wear it with the first posted print boots and a leather biker.

It does really depend on where you're going to wear it though.

Horsemad · 02/11/2019 10:39

I think the first pic with the shorter length and the Timberland boots looks lovely.

You have a gorgeous figure, the dress really suits you.

Disclaimer: I'm old & not particularly stylish, so feel free to ignore me! 😆

Oh thank you so much for all these lovely comments. I was worried about posting the photos but then I thought no one can really help without seeing how it looks on me. I think as so many people think it looks good long that my first port if call will be to try some different styles of shoe with it to see if I can find something that really works. If I'm still struggling I'm tempted to have it shortened to just below my knee. I have a dress in that length already that I wear all the time with flat sandals in summer so I probably wont have too much trouble getting that length to work.

TodoDoingDone I can walk in the long one. That would definitely annoy me too if I couldn't walk in it.

I think it would look fab with the leopard print boots!

HyperemesisandPND · 02/11/2019 16:32

I've just ordered this pair of boots which I think I prefer to the matalan ones. Fingers crossed.

Great dress on you.

Why not keep it long for winter and then get it shortened for spring?

With your figure you can rock it any way you want!

OverByYer · 02/11/2019 16:56

Keep it long. Looks great with trainers

Pinkypurple35 · 02/11/2019 17:46

I like the most recent leopard boots, nice shape. I think the dress could be shorted (due to height) a little to go with those boots, otherwise the trainers look good. Definitely not the timberland boots though.

Boofybear1 · 03/11/2019 08:54

With these dresses i wear trainers if daytime and high heeled ankled boots if dressier or evening.

mintcorneto · 03/11/2019 09:21

I would dress it down with some canvas trainers and denim jacket

CravingCheese · 03/11/2019 11:12

I'd dress this down with trainers (either some sort of canvas as said above or classic leather) and a weather appropriate coat / jacket. whether that's chunky knit monstrosity, leather, felt, a cape, a basic wind breaker or a thick coat.... 🤷🏻‍♀️

But it absolutely needs to be below the knees imo. Above the knees looks basic / boring to me.

Tortoiser · 03/11/2019 11:18

Long with the trainers - looks great!

BusterGonad · 03/11/2019 11:28

I like it short with the boots, I don't think the trainers you are wearing it with work in the 2nd picture but think the leopard ones would look cute.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 03/11/2019 11:47

I'd take an inch off, so it's still midi but more in proportion for a petite frame. You've a beautiful figure but look a bit swamped.

The shorter length looks equally good, but it looks like any other dress, the longer length is more unique.

A more slender trainer would work. If you're a smaller size look at children's, cheaper and fit your frame better. Not sure what they've got in currently but I buy from the Next older girls range. They might be a good idea for boots too.

Those boots are still terrible. They swamp you. Sorry.

Mammyloveswine · 03/11/2019 11:50

I don't think that dress is dressy, with the leapord boots and a leather jacket I think it's a great outfit!

endoflevelbaddy · 03/11/2019 11:57

Trainers & leather jacket - keep the length.

To dress it up a bit I'd go black tights and black ankle boots with a heel (doesn't have to be ludicrously high).
You need look at something that exposes a bit of ankle rather than cut you off around the bottom of the calf so as much leg on show as possible.

I'd wear it with the black amour courts from Schuh as well, current favourites and far more comfortable than a traditional stiletto.

RockinHippy · 03/11/2019 12:04

It's a more adventurous look, which not everyone is going to get, but I think that the boots dress the dress down enough so that it isn't too dressy & it can work well with thicker tights for a smarter day wear look. Go fir it

Snog · 03/11/2019 12:18

Second pic is fab OP

diddl · 03/11/2019 14:30

I think that the Timberlands would work with thick tights (if the Leopard boots don't look right)

Don't like the long with trainers look at all.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/11/2019 14:33

The long version would look so much better just a couple of inches shorter. Agree with a PP that it's too long, and swamps you. And you need to try the dress with some jackets, because different jackets will change the look completely.

Croquembou · 03/11/2019 14:36

I don't think that dress is dressy

So confused by all the 'it's a dressy dress' comments. It's just a (very lovely) every day jersey dress, isn't it?! It's not backless and sequinned.

Anyway, I think it'd look cool with the leopard boots so what do I know?!

HyperemesisandPND · 07/11/2019 15:34

Just popping back for more opinions if anyone is still around. Here are the boots with the dress. What do you think? And while we are on the subject of the boots do they work with these dungarees?
