How much do you pay for a Cut and Blow Dry?

wasnotwasweregood · 25/10/2019 23:05

And roughly whereabouts are you?

£49 seems to be the going rate where I am (relatively prosperous town in SE England) but I was wondering if there is much of a difference in different parts of the country.

Thanks all!

£26 north east, local salon. My hairdresser now rents a chair but I’ve followed her to a couple of other local salons.

Onwardsagain · 27/10/2019 08:14

@upallnightpain Scruffs. They're brilliant.

Parker231 · 27/10/2019 08:31

Read that the Supercuts and Regis hairdressing chain have gone into Administration. They are trying to find a buyer for the 230 salons. Don’t know if they are anyone’s usual salon?

DefinatelyAWeeGobshite · 27/10/2019 10:15

£37.50 for a pixie cut, west of Scotland

confusedmaybe · 27/10/2019 10:23

I pay £20 at my local salon. Highly skilled hairdresser, good friend and gives me a fab cut exactly how I want it. She has even learned the CGM that I follow. I live in the South East. I know I've found a gem

RedJoan · 27/10/2019 14:27

I had a gem before I moved house confused, really experienced guy who left London for a quiet life and was very very good at what he did - from memory he charged me £30. My £75 experience is no different.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/10/2019 14:56

Just paid £36 in John Lewis in Birmingham.

CremeEggThief · 27/10/2019 14:58

£45 for a colour, cut and finish, which is average for the town in County Durham I live in. I lived in a pit village 3 miles away before where it was £30 for the same.

Groovee · 27/10/2019 14:59

£45 for me in Edinburgh

RedJoan · 27/10/2019 15:00

Wow, I never knew that Remus. I might try the one in Leeds, have just checked and the most senior stylist is only £47 - ha, only!

SteelRiver · 27/10/2019 15:54

£30, by the owner in a small, independent salon a few miles outside of Glasgow.

Must admit to being gobsmacked at some of the prices listed here.

Fabuleuse · 27/10/2019 15:57

£23, nice but not fancy salon in a small town near Glasgow.

edgen2019 · 27/10/2019 16:03

£22.50 I live in the South East (senior citizen rate)

Allaboutevie · 27/10/2019 16:13

I pay £20 for a short hair cut including blow dry - it's a unisex barbers in Bristol and they charge the same price for men and women.

BrexitBirgit · 27/10/2019 16:20

About £43 IIRC, central cambridge, I've been with my stylist for 20 odd years now. Precision short cut that still looks great (if longer!) 4 months later - you've reminded me I need an appointment! Once went to a local small salon, it did cost a bit less, but two weeks later I looked like it had never been cut.

ForMySorrow · 27/10/2019 16:24

£20/25, Midlands

blueshoes · 27/10/2019 16:36

£36, SE London suburb. Salon owner, I am her old time customer.

SpeckledyHen · 27/10/2019 16:40

£50 in Berkshire .

MikeUniformMike · 27/10/2019 17:48

I pay £35 for a wash and cut. I think a blowdry is £10 more.
Just inside M25 in Surrey.

upallnightpain · 27/10/2019 19:54

@Onwardsagain same here, for the past 6/7 years now! I see Christian

icannotremember · 28/10/2019 08:08

£25 at a local salon in my area of Manchester. I love the hairdresser who does my hair. She never makes me talk about crap and she will always tell me if what I want won't work.
