How much do you pay for a Cut and Blow Dry?

wasnotwasweregood · 25/10/2019 23:05

And roughly whereabouts are you?

£49 seems to be the going rate where I am (relatively prosperous town in SE England) but I was wondering if there is much of a difference in different parts of the country.

Thanks all!

I'm Shock at the prices on here. I had a colour, cut and blow dry today. It cost me £51 in a small market town in South Yorkshire. I don't know how much they charge these days just for a cut and blow dry though.

Drinkciderfromalemon · 25/10/2019 23:59

I pay about £60-70 depending which person does it. However, it is always a perfect cut and lasts really well.

Mine's a mobile hairdresser and comes here. £8 for a cut and blow dry. She adult trained hairdresser but does mobile that fits around her childcare.

In the local hairdressers it's £15z

SW Scottish village.

Aquamarine1029 · 26/10/2019 00:04

Zero. My husband cuts my hair and I blow dry it. 😂

FionaOgre · 26/10/2019 00:05

shes a fully trained* not she adult or whatever autocorrect put.

dubmumof2 · 26/10/2019 00:15

€70 (about £60) in an award-winning salon in an inner suburb of Dublin :)

titnomatani · 26/10/2019 00:23

£68 in a 'naice' part of outer London.

FrancesFlute · 26/10/2019 07:18

£40 large Northern city.

ohmysoul · 26/10/2019 07:21

£19 in Birmingham, but I've been going to the same place since I was a student (so 12 years now) and the owner has always charged me the student price even though she obviously knows I'm no longer a student.

Bluesheep8 · 26/10/2019 07:44

£29. In West Yorkshire

OrangeHue · 26/10/2019 07:47

£32 in central London. Should be £37 but I get a £5 discount when booking

FurryTurnipHead · 26/10/2019 07:49

£33 with salon owner. East Midlands.

GetRid · 26/10/2019 07:51

£35-45 depending on the salon. South East.

I ditch the blow-dry (luxury I don't need) and have a cut and rough blow-dry instead which is £20-25.

Skinnychip · 26/10/2019 07:58

I had a mobile hairdresser cone to my house once to do a cut and blow dry. I washed my own hair before she came amd it was £40. I thought that was expensive considering her overheads would have been much lower than a salon.

RedJoan · 26/10/2019 08:11

£75 in a fairly rural northern town, salon director is £125 I think!

I am actually looking for another hairdresser following the ‘promotion’ of mine in house and associated price increase. Tried one two cuts ago but didn’t like the cut as much, have identified somewhere else to try cost - £48.

BrightonBB · 26/10/2019 08:15

£29 for a cut and blow dry when visiting in Gloucestershire.

Phimma · 26/10/2019 08:15

My hairdresser charges by the hour, so it varies. Last time it was £45.

I'm interested to learn what people tip.

ChasingRainbows19 · 26/10/2019 08:17

£25 northwest. Local town salon.

ShirleyPhallus · 26/10/2019 08:20

I’m about the same as OP as I use a central London hairdresser

I think the cost of colour is much more contentious. After having some shonky colours at places like rush for about £80 I’ll only ever go to my current salon which is an eye watering £300 for full colour, cut, blow dry and olaplex. Saying that, she does such a fantastic job I only need it recoloured about every 8 months so it doesn’t seem as expensive per year

WalkAwaySugarbear · 26/10/2019 08:29

I think it's around £23 at my hairdressers. She runs the salon herself and is great at what she does and is always booked up because she is very reasonable price wise. I pay for roots and a blow dry, which is about £33pm. She does a fabulous head massage during the wash and adds free treatments if there's a few people she's working on at the same time. This week I had a trim with my roots colour and she curled my hair, it was £43.
I'd never go anywhere else and affordable enough to go every month.

Her0utdoors · 26/10/2019 08:36

French windows. Bifolds will date, especially grey framed ones. How windy is it where you are? We have French windows (aka patio doors) and very rarely have both open because the prevailing wind would blow the contents of the house out the front door. I can't believe people actually open these huge bifolds fully more than a couple of times a year.

calilark · 26/10/2019 08:48

Paid £39 on Wednesday. Am in Devon.

freckledsloth · 26/10/2019 08:57

£18.50 at the hairdressers in my village-lovely ladies and they do a fabulous job. I'm in West Yorkshire Smile

ReginaGeorgeous · 26/10/2019 11:46

£28 for a cut and blow dry at my salon, and I pay £79 for a full head of foils, cut and Olaplex. That's an independent salon in Birmingham.

youlittlecharmer · 26/10/2019 12:17

£20 in Cornwall. £60 for full head of foils, cut and blow.
