Didn't realise it was only three months! No drama there.

Fergie did wear some mad shit, but with the benefit of hindsight; she looks great!

Thanks @queenofarles for Rania's shoe ID. You are we quite right, they are actually not nice at all. I don't like the back heel cutout design on reflection! And they are everywhere!

I love those 80s retro pictures as they remind me so clearly of my mum's wardrobe which contained some beautifully 'vibrant' shockers. It's almost a shame she got rid of them, they could have been very eBayable! There's a lot to be said for the decade at least being readily identifiable. The 00s and 10s have been boring by contrast.

Thank you for the new thread @QueenOfTheAndals, this title is fun!

I spotted this picture on Instagram - Meghan's been working olive green for a long time! This picture is her in Victoria Beckham (I love the shoes) in 2013.

Thank you for the new thread. I read the Mail article on Sarah F, it’s very much a promotional piece for the surgeon. Looking at the pictures of her in 2012, when her skin looked quite thin & lined I think the work is very good, she looks her age rather than inappropriately young or immobile. It’s really hard to have any volume in your face in your late 50s/early 60s.

Found an interview with Meghan's makeup artist. Nothing too controversial - he says she does her own makeup these days (I suspect Kate does too) but isn't a fan of red lipstick. Which is a shame, as it suits her!

@Boscoismyspiritanimal thank you for the Swedish photos. It’s like a whole new RF I can get ridiculously over involved with haha no problem. @latedecember1963 I agree that the picture is powerful, and it would be very interesting if Charles did something similar. The set up of three men/males standing in front of the portrait of a woman would also send a different message - not sure which one but the mental image made me ... not start, but react (mentally. I clearly am a bit mental thinking this much about it).

Those pictures of QE above reinforces my idea that she just cemented an "appropriate" style, based on what she could wear in the 50s with som adjustment for age, and this idea of what is appropriate for women in the RF has been perpetuated ever since, an institution frozen in time, wearing clothes deemed appropriate by a woman approaching middle age in the 60s.

Love that picture of the sports day. A reminder of how lovely it is when someone else’s child plonks itself down in your lap.....

HM looks amazing in that white lace dress and (shock horror!) open toed sandals. Such a tiny waist!

an odd combination of drawn, taunt and puffy-very odd.

Seriously... am I the only one who sees Brigitte Macron and thinks this? Nasty, I know, but she's just a bit ... odd.

Though, her clothes (and shoes) always have an interesting aspect.

Anyhoo...

CPM does seem to love a pie crust collar. Heaven knows why!

Also - Rania, pre the plentiful "work". What a strikingly attractive woman of her era - who knew😁?

@paradyning that's the Liebowitz pic that was taken for the stamps, isn't it?

Hence, all the heirs' heads at roughly the same height, and able to be separated by a perforated strip 😉. I think George is on a stack of phone books to get him up to height.

(These days, maybe not needed so much, especially as great-granny is probably not much taller!)

Those trousers flow beautifully while she is walking, Devon. It's interesting that she maintains half a foot behind him when walking as well, just like Catherine and William

I seem to have had a run of rather negative posts recently, and I'm afraid this one is no different - sorry!

I really dislike CPM's floral blouse. Of course it's Erdem and has all the Erdem trademarks I dislike - floral, high neck, flouncy sleeves. And speaking of flounce - CPV in a dress with far too much going on.

I really like CPM's blouse, but then I like Erdem.
I see what you mean Mother about CPV's dress, it doesn't seem to know what it's doing (so busy).

What is it with these dresses? They look like proper granny frocks.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/10/2019 19:53

CPV veers between overly fussy floral dresses and 70s pantsuits but pulls out all the stops for tiara and gown occasions!
