Hi guys,
I love browsing the what are you wearing today thread but being plussize (Size 26) I often can't take inspiration from it. I wondered if any other size 18+ would like to share what they are wearing today?

Today is long black vest dress (old Asos, I think), longline grey Fat Face jumper, and green Snag tights.

Not very exciting, but better than leggings and t-shirt!

Divebar · 16/10/2019 08:43

Does anyone else get up in the morning and change three times before you’re happy? I have some cool clothes but I really need to spend some time putting some outfits together so I can wear more of my wardrobe. Anyway I’m in all black again today ( which I must also stop). I’ve got skinny ( Lol. On me they’re tight anyway) 7/8ths black trousers from Autograph and an oversized black short sleeved shirt from a charity shop ( ASOS label). I really love oversized styles. I’m wearing my Dr Marten shoes and a silver cuff. I’ve got a light coloured loose mac from COS and because of relentless rain big curly( blonde ) hair getting curlier by the second. Red lipstick as ever. I feel good today.

RooKangaroo · 16/10/2019 08:51

Outfit sounds awesome, @Divebar! I've never been able to make lipstick work for me, but envious of those who can.

And yes, if I have time I definitely change a few times and don't use all of my wardrobe. On mat leave I'm literally chucking clothes on before the baby screams for me (has to be held most of the time), so I'm making a lot less effort these days and don't have the time to make changes to make my outfit better.

Divebar · 16/10/2019 09:33

Ahhhhh Roo you get a free pass on maternity leave. It’s a weird time.... well it was for me anyway. Sometimes though just getting your hair blow dried or putting on some mascara can feel like an achievement.

NowWeSuckingDiesel · 16/10/2019 10:11

Today's school run (walk) outfit, olive green jacket and shoes from new look, top from sainsburys and jeggings from asda. Cheap and cheerful, i hope!! (size 20)

You look fab diesel.

picklemepopcorn · 16/10/2019 15:02

Ooh, coming to hang out here for a while. Haven't seen you peeps before. I'm a busty pear, which is easier than when I used to be a flat chested pear!

picklemepopcorn · 16/10/2019 15:04

Has anyone tried the snag style of coloured tights with contrasting fishnets over the top? How does it feel/look? It looks amazing in the photos...

NowWeSuckingDiesel · 16/10/2019 15:16

What a lovely thing to say NancyEspana, thank you so much, you made me feel good about myself on a day where my confidence was taking a bit of a battering, so thank you

NancyEspana · 16/10/2019 15:58

Ah not at all diesel! I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it Smile.

feelinghelplesstoday · 16/10/2019 16:53

Ha @NancyEspana fabulous! I love dungarees ❤️

Defeatthedebt · 16/10/2019 17:42

So pleased to see this thread is ticking along nicely while I've been Mia!!!

Today is an office day for me so I'm wearing a yours greenish utility dress (70% off and quite alot of sizes left if anyone likes it). Starting to look like I wear nothing but yours 😂I've paired it with black leggings and black low heeled kind of sock boots. And a very large fat face handbag. It's dark brown leather and can hold an unlimited amount of stuff!

I'm not very good at accessories really. Must try harder!

SillyBillyBandy · 16/10/2019 23:11

Anyone got a recommendation for Chelsea type boots for those with cankles 😳

MrsPnut · 17/10/2019 07:48

I've bought these www.next.co.uk/g29142s10#630329 but I have size 9 feet and Next usually do a true size 9.

I'm wearing them today with skinny black trousers, a grey tunic and a grey cardigan. I've also got a string of bright beads on.

peachgreen · 17/10/2019 08:16

Ooh @NowWeSuckingDiesel, those jeggings are lovely. Did you cuff them yourself? Must have a look in Asda - my Sainsburys faves have gone all baggy and thin.

peachgreen · 17/10/2019 08:18

I really hope once this thread has been running for a while more of us (me included!) get up the guts to share photos. Nothing is more inspiring for me, fashion wise, than seeing other plus size women looking fantastic. But it's scary sharing photos, I know!

CrowleysBentley · 17/10/2019 09:31

Today I'm in wide leg black trousers in heavy Jersey knit material that I've had for a couple of years, and a super soft light grey batwing sleeve jumper from h & m, with black leather converse high tops.

NowWeSuckingDiesel · 17/10/2019 10:02

Thank you peachgreen, yes i just rolled the jeggings up a bit! These are only £8 in asda, they aren't on a coat hanger they are rolled up in cardboard like socks iykwim! These are a size 16 quite high waisted too which i need for my big belly! I would normally take a size 20 in jeans but there is plenty of stretch in them and i didnt want baggy knees! Please do start to post photos too, I've just started because i want to love me again and take pride in my apperance for how i look now, not how society tells me a successful, content woman should look. Easier said than done though!! 😂

NowWeSuckingDiesel · 17/10/2019 10:04

Today's outfit, very similar an to yesterday and probably tomorrow too! Asda jeggings, peacock striped 3/4 sleeve top, peacock knitted poncho thingy and burgundy patent boots which i think were from simply be

YY diesel! Very well said. I might not be a size 12 or whatever anymore, but I still want to wear nice clothes and feel good wearing them. I'm so pleased the tide seems to have turned over this and there are so many amazing plus size models to follow on insta etc. I also think the clothes they wear just look more comfortable and more me.

I know there is a way to go on the high street though.

This is me today. I'm mainly a 16, but have everything from 12s to 20s in my wardrobe. It's so variable. I definitely think I am plus size though and I'm embracing it.

Skirt (16) - charity shop
Jumper (L) tucked in at front - Gap
T-shirt (M) - Hush
Boots - DM (think the style is Jolyon, but I couldn't swear to it)!
Necklace - charity shop (toddler has broken all my others and had to buy this as an expendable replacement! Sick of having the others repaired all the time 😂)!

I agree with you too peachgreen. I like the photos too, but I know it is indeed a bit scary to post. So definitely get why people might not.

PS: yes, I am standing on my toilet 😂. It's the best mirror!

NowWeSuckingDiesel · 17/10/2019 11:20

Love your outfit Nancy, I wish i was brave enough to tuck in a jumper as it is so flattering but my belly says no! And i agree too with the plus size models on insta, it's so refreshing to see people celebrating their bodies instead of criticizing them.

Hope you don't fall through the loo seat though! 😂

picklemepopcorn · 17/10/2019 12:19

Ok, I'll be brave too!
Black stretch jeans, high waisted and straight legged (really hard to find) Bon Marché.
M&S tunic

I'm not good at taking pictures of myself- really hard to manage my iPad etc!

NancyEspana · 17/10/2019 12:22

Thanks diesel! I love both of the outfits you've posted too! I've just bought a jumper, (from eBay), a bit like yours only it's cowl neck. I'm a bit wary of the neck actually as I am ginormous of nork and often look like I'm being suffocated in high necks! Having said that, I think cowl necks look better on me than polo neck.

Re tucking, I can only do it with a line skirts with a forgiving waistline. Don't think I could do it with jeans or anything. I am an apple shape, so all belly. Made a lot worse by pregnancies and c section.
