Hi guys,
I love browsing the what are you wearing today thread but being plussize (Size 26) I often can't take inspiration from it. I wondered if any other size 18+ would like to share what they are wearing today?

I’m probably a 26 on top and a 22/24 in trousers.

I love Juna Rose Skinny jeans from John Lewis. Leggings and coats from Landsend. Tunics, leggings, dresses from Seasalt. I get the odd bit from Next but their fit isn’t always consistent. I agree with what was said upthread about Evans, I’d be happy to pay more for better quality. I’ve recently tried Snag tights and love them, wish they made thicker ones for chilly days though.

Today I wearing Juna Rose jeans, Seasalt boots and a homemade hoodie.

Wombleish · 17/10/2019 15:14

Ooh, @picklemepopcorn Which jeans are those Bon Marche ones? I was looking at the website only 20 minutes ago and thought the Sara ones looked ok. I was buying my jeans from Sainsbury's but the girlfriend ones make my huge thighs look even bigger and the straight legs are really cheap and baggy material now. They're also too long for me, as I'm only 5' 3" and it would be nice to have a pair that I don't need to roll up for a change. I like that Bin Marche have several leg lengths.

picklemepopcorn · 17/10/2019 15:58

I'm not sure wombleish- I've had them about a year now. They have gone a bit twisty at the top, but are holding up ok otherwise. Size 20.

I have mega thighs and knees, so need wide or generous straight leg. M&S did some brilliant ones in their Curve range, but sadly not for long.

picklemepopcorn · 17/10/2019 16:05

Sara looks about right- have you seen the picture for the light indigo? I think someone has slipped up with photoshop, there!

NowWeSuckingDiesel · 17/10/2019 17:02

@picklemypopcorn that tunic top is lovely on you!

Anyone know anything about body shape, i can't figure out if I'm a 🍓 or an 🍏! Big boobs and belly with slimmer legs??

Like you said diesel with bigger boobs i do think roll necks etc aren't as flattering as a v neck top but i think a long necklace can mimic the shape of a v neck so that's my excuse! (my belly has also suffered from pregnancy and c sections but it's always been my 'problem' area, I'd be a liar if I said i had a flat stomach before kids 😳)

Loving how helpful everyone is on here, it makes a lovely change, @Defeatthedebt thank you for posting this thread!

picklemepopcorn · 17/10/2019 17:10

Thank you diesel! I totally agree about v necks and necklaces. If I'm not careful I get an overstuffed pillow look. I do best with deep vs, wide scoops or those draped type necklines.

I'm impressed by everyone looking so neat- no matter what I wear I look floaty/drapey. I'm watching to see how you skim over the wobbly bits without going full on hippy layers.

TakeMeToYourLiar · 17/10/2019 17:20

I'm working from home today so jeans (bonne marche, love their jeans, and a cotton jumper from the Christmas bargain threads last year.

ThinkWittyThoughts · 17/10/2019 17:23

I'm loving this thread - just found it.

I'm late 30s. Fat apple. Didn't used to care a jot about fashion, but have recently started to appreciate style. Have "discovered" 10 years late the joys of jeggings and want to buy all the colours from M&S.

I'm loving all the pictures and tips. Please keep them coming.

I've gone for a blue theme today. Plain blue jumper, lighter blue jeggings, navy leather flats. I'm highlighting with red nails & lipstick.

Has anyone else joined stitch fix? They have sizing up to 18 (some brands more generous than others) and if you want an intro code for first fix free, let me know. It's given me loads of outfit ideas.

Is there anything like a jegging with a wider lower leg? Skinnies don't work for me, due to pudgy knees.

Wombleish · 17/10/2019 17:40

Thanks, Pickle. Your thighs don't look that big at all! I'll try and get to our nearest store at the weekend and check them out.

NancyEspana · 17/10/2019 17:46

I'd be a liar if I said i had a flat stomach before kids

Ah that's where we differ, as I DEFINITELY, definitely had a six pack before dcs...ahem...definitely Wink.

I'm an apple, so it's always been my problem area. Even when really quite slim, I had a wee pot belly.

I do yoga now, which I think has helped a little bit. But I don't mind it so much now. I definitely think following similar shaped and sized people on Instagram has helped with that.

This is a lovely thread!

NancyEspana · 17/10/2019 18:12

Oh @picklemepopcorn, I didn't notice your fab photo till just now as it was right at the bottom of the previous page!

That tunic really suits you. Lovely outfit 👍.

Taking photos of yourself is ready tricky! I can't say I have ever had much cause to do it till now. Hence the photo of myself standing on the loo seat 😂.

NancyEspana · 17/10/2019 18:13

*really tricky

picklemepopcorn · 17/10/2019 18:23

I think standing on the toilet just adds to the pic, Nancy!

peachgreen · 17/10/2019 21:37

Oh you all look great! I love the red boots and red striped top, gorgeous combo @NowWeSuckingDiesel. @nancyespana I really like the tshirt under v neck jumper, I would never have thought to combine the two but it looks great. @picklemepopcorn that tunic is a great shape on you!

I'm in my PJs but will try and be brave and post a photo tomorrow!

vegvegveg · 17/10/2019 22:21

This thread is great, so much inspiration!

Today I wore a black and white stripy top from Tu, black leggings, ivory suede Air Force 1s and a mustard thin parka from matalan.

NancyEspana · 18/10/2019 06:40

Looking forward to the pics today!

Here I am in my new dungarees! Yaaaay!

Dungarees - Lucy & Yak
Top underneath - New Look
Brogues - Office (from eBay years ago and looking a bit battered)
Necklace - same as yesterday (charity shop)

NowWeSuckingDiesel · 18/10/2019 07:57

@NancyEspana where's the photo!?? ,teasing us with your new dungarees!!! 😂

NowWeSuckingDiesel · 18/10/2019 08:16

Today's outfit
Cardigan Sainsburys 16 (This has a hood on it which i think makes it look a bit more dressy, couldn't show it properly for fear of showing my wrinkly face lol)
Black tunic top (18) new look
Black primark leggings, L (14/16 with plenty of stretch!) these leggings are fab and i wish i had bought more of them when they were in store, they have a thin thermal lining which is very cosy but also means they are not see through, i bought them in navy too, think they were only about £6 each, would really recommend them)
Necklace Evans, like their jewelery, clothes not so much
Boots last years, can't remember where from!

(Black Labrador puppy, the ultimate accessory!!!)

Hope you all have a great, body positive day!!!

Floralmoral · 18/10/2019 08:25

Ooh I love this thread. I’m a weird shaped size 18. I have slim legs, fat belly and big boobs. Even pre dc my stomach wasn’t perfect.
Today I’m wearing a green swing dress from ASOS (last year purchase), black opaque tights and slouchy black boots. And a gorgeous amber necklace to make it all a bit smarter.
I quite like Asos, have a good few things from their curve range. Quality can sometimes be shockingly bad though so I tend to order loads and end up keeping maybe a couple of items. For tights, I swear by Primark. They’re thick, long (I’m 5ft 10) and go over my blobby middle area Grin

BiddyPop · 18/10/2019 08:29

I’m an 18.

Today being Friday, I am dresssed down for the office.

Grey ugg leather slightly biker style boots to mid calf.

Navy skinny jeans.

White lands end top (with a notch and 3 buttons not really meant to be closed at the neck. Out over top of jeans.

Navy and white polka dot scarf.

Navy boule jacket (short - just waist length, zips up but left open) - so white top is visible below it.

NancyEspana · 18/10/2019 08:31

Ah did it not post? I'll try again!

NancyEspana · 18/10/2019 08:33

Looking fab again diesel! I never thought of going to Evan's for jewellery, but that necklace is fab! Will definitely have a look in there when I'm replacing all the stuff my toddler has destroyed.

picklemepopcorn · 18/10/2019 08:48

Love the dunga's Nancy, and the cardi, Diesel. Is it this year's, will they still be in?

I'm sporting pjs still, but will try and organise myself in a while.

I love the fact that people are mentioning ordinary brands!
