Hi guys,
I love browsing the what are you wearing today thread but being plussize (Size 26) I often can't take inspiration from it. I wondered if any other size 18+ would like to share what they are wearing today?

Love the hedgehog dress chunkyknit! I am also very apple-y.

You look fab divebar. I think your choice of DMs is great. I almost never wear heels as I am very top heavy and it looks frankly ludicrous with my larger top half and wee dainty, spindly heels. I'm also tall, so the basic laws of physics mean I'm bound to go A over T in high heels!

buckeejit, that is a genuinely interesting fact re the manure horn! Every day's a school day on the S&B board! I also want a nice xmas jumper. I'll check eBay.

ringlets ah thanks and right back at ya!!!

Today I have fully regressed to looking like a preschooler, having gone student yesterday. Tomorrow it will be a baby gro 😂.

Having said I don't have any NEW, new clothes, some of these are actually fairly new. The top and the skirt are about 4 months old.

Top - Juna Rose, size S (14/16)
Skirt - Dorothy Perkins, size 16
Tights - Snag, size E
Shoes - Clark's, from eBay, size 7D

I think my skirt is too short, but I'm not going anywhere much today, so I think it's ok. I won't disgrace myself!

Dive bar I love your look. Nancy that look looks fab and flattering on you thought it was a top. I loved the hedgehog dress but at 6ft size 20 and age 54 it would be way too short for me to pull off even if I wore it with leggings.
At the moment I am still in LTS yoga pants from years ago and LTS fleece top also from years ago if I get dressed to meet friends for coffee I might brave a photo.

NancyEspana · 22/10/2019 10:22

thought it was a top

😂😂😂 DEFINITELY too short then! I'll probably need to change before school run this afternoon anyway, so I'll go for something a bit longer BlushWink.

ringletsandtwiglets · 22/10/2019 10:30

Noooooo, don’t change, Nancy! You look wonderful and those tights are thick enough to make it work. Bare legs might be trickier to pull off, but opaque tights are a godsend.

This thread is as warm and fuzzy as an episode of the Bake Off ☺️☺️☺️

picklemepopcorn · 22/10/2019 10:36

Buckeejit, M&S do a good range I used to like, might be worth a try? They have a bit of stretch to them, so it depends how they fit on you, I think. They have a variety of lengths.

Sorry Nancy I meant I thought it was a dress

Sorry Nancy I meant I thought it was a dress

Oooooh phew! My DH used to joke, back when we were very young and I was teeny, that I didn't wear skirts, I wore belts 😂.

Dress is much better. Thank you!

And thanks ringlet. I also luffs this thread 😍😍😍!

SisterSistine · 22/10/2019 11:16

Hello everyone. I wondered if I could get some advice on this thread, didn’t feel big enough to start my own. In a couple of weeks we are having some family photos taken. Outdoor, relaxed photos, not a big formal photo shoot, but a professional photographer.

I am a size 22, an average height, big bum and belly size 22. Not a tall, big but actually toned 22. I have NO idea what to wear. I’m not convinced by anything I have at the moment. Any suggestions of something nice & casual that works for outside? I struggle to get skirts to fit my proportions (super pear shaped) so I’m thinking a nice, not clingy but not a tent, dress in an autumnal sort of colour.

And on topic, today I am wearing a Seasalt dress ( www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/clothing/dresses-tunics/heartfelt-dress-beech.htm) that I probably should have ordered a size smaller with leggings. It is definitely on the tent side but so comfy Grin

Daddylonglegs1965 · 22/10/2019 11:29

SisterSistine@SisterSistine no link is appearing for your Seasalt dress. Be brave and take a photo. I would love a dress like you describe and I have just bought some tan lace up Boots that would look fab with a dress like that.
If the photographer is any good they can position people in a certain way to show them at their best angle so people look less short, less tall less big etc and show them how to stand etc.

SisterSistine · 22/10/2019 11:32

Sorry, think the bracket ended up in the link and wrecked it. This dress: www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/clothing/dresses-tunics/heartfelt-dress-beech.htm

I can't do a photo as not got anyone to take it or a suitable full length mirror.

picklemepopcorn · 22/10/2019 11:33

As it's outdoor, I'd wear jeans, chunky boots, and a tunic top. But then, that's what I wear everywhere so maybe that's not great advice! 🤣

I'd think in terms of something that you feel great in. The other thing to consider is what everyone else is wearing. Our group shots always came out better when we organised our clothes together. The one where we all wore black with neutrals worked well. We didn't look matchymatchy, but nothing clashed or drew the eye.

If everyone wears autumn colours, that will look better than everyone being in random prints, for example.

ringletsandtwiglets · 22/10/2019 11:34

An autumnal dress sounds perfect for the shoot. Paired with tights and cute boots? Could you take some scarves and jackets to change the look between pictures?

Here’s today’s outfit:
Purpley-blue bubble hem top from George Size 24
Grey cardi from Primark S XL
Denim skirt from M&S Collection S 22
Burgundy Snag tights S F

All of the clothes are more than a year old. Tights are new. ☺️

SisterSistine · 22/10/2019 11:38

Thanks. We are all going for similar colours. It's a short, informal relaxed style thing so no posing or changes of outfit required. I'm just struggling to find something I think "yes, I feel confident in this". And I don't want to hide and just have photos of the kids!

picklemepopcorn · 22/10/2019 11:45

Have you got some stuff to show us? We can help you choose!

Daddylonglegs1965 · 22/10/2019 12:54

Ok this is me 54 size 20-22 height 6ft skirt and top from Whitestuff (both this season photos of the items online included) tights are navy from Snag last year. I am going to wear some tan boots with this (But I don’t wear shoes upstairs) for coffee out with the girls.

buckeejit · 22/10/2019 13:11

@Daddylonglegs1965 & @NancyEspana looking great!

@Divebar love your look - khaki/olive green are some of my best colours so often in a monochrome of this.

Sainsbury's Tu have 25% off from today. I've ordered a load of stuff including a pinafore! I'd have pissed myself even just a week ago if someone told me I would contemplate wearing a short pinafore. I'm 42 & always thought 'how can someone my size wear something so short!' But I'm excited!

Daddylonglegs1965 · 22/10/2019 13:13

Ow what’s the pinafore like how tall are you and what size are you. I would love a pinafore but the proportions would have to be right.

NancyEspana · 22/10/2019 13:13

That looks fab Daddylonglegs! Enjoy coffee out Brew.

I'm watching crap tv, (but should be doing some housework), while my youngest naps.

Planning to go to the park after school pick up, so will be exchanging the Mary Janes fom earlier for DMs and putting a big fluffy jumper and scarf on top.

buckeejit, I now want to join a wine club Wine.

NancyEspana · 22/10/2019 13:14

Oh buckeejit, x posted there.

I bloody love pinafores! I bet you'll look amazing in it.

NowWeSuckingDiesel · 22/10/2019 13:32

I love the confidence on here, it's growing every day and i have serious outfit envy!!

Very casual here today, this is my dog walking outfit!

All this season, Nike top leggings and air force ones and new look oversize jacket

I'm in nothing fun today until later - love the orange of this top but the neck is too high. It's twiggy line from M&S via charity shop & jeans are old Debenhams

@ringletsandtwiglets - I'm lusting after a denim skirt now-really like that colour tights but hadn't ordered as thought I wouldn't....

Photo shoot! Yes to autumnal colours if poss- longer cardigan or longer scarf rather than coat maybe? I'm loving belts atm. What colours have you agreed on?

NancyEspana · 22/10/2019 14:54

Love the casual looks and really love that outfit clientlistqueen!

Updated outfit. I'm braving the shirt skirt at the park... may regret it! I have a long coat though.

I love everyone’s photos .... I’ve never been brave enough to share mine online before. It feels like we’re all in the same boat somewhat... probably the same insecurities. You know what though I never really worry about age. I’m 49 but don’t ever really think “ “ should a 49 year old wear this?” I don’t care too much about anyone’s opinions apart from my DH and DD7 ( but hey it’s my job to embarrass her right? )
