Can any one name this early 80s perfume ?

When I was about 17 1983/84 used to walk through Debenhams for a spray of this ! But can't remember it's name , it was quite a strong spicy kind of scent in a burgundy slim sort of angular bottle with a gold lid and I think some black vertical line on the bottle ? I can Remember Rive Gauche (sp) and Je Reviens being popular at the same time but can't find anything like this on google ! It's driving me mad

@Fozzleyplum I'm with you! Lots of very very sweet stuff around at the moment. Also Dana Tabu is cheap as chips. Try Fragrance Direct.

@Sarcelle I still wear Fidji - you can occasionally buy it in Europe or I get it on Amazon. It's my holiday perfume.

My original arrived yesterday, just used it now and it's as gorgeous as I remember!!! Only 4 ml so won't last long !! Do I chance trying the Dana version ? I might hate it or love it ! Happy for now :)

I liked Safari by Ralph Lauren.

The Dana version is so inexpensive that I reckon you could risk a blind buy. I use DanaTabu and it's terrific.

Right. It looks like Dana took over from Houbigant and and then Prism took over from Dana. Try the Prism. This has happened before with Yardley/Lentheric/Taylor of London. For example, Tweed used to be made by Lentheric but is now made by Taylor of London. It's not as deep, but it's still Tweed. Similarly, Yardley Chique is now Taylor of London Chique, and it does smell the same as the old one.

It's a gamble as formulas have strayed a little by necessity over the decades, but I think it's all down to individual taste and preference. Roll the dice!
