Can any one name this early 80s perfume ?

When I was about 17 1983/84 used to walk through Debenhams for a spray of this ! But can't remember it's name , it was quite a strong spicy kind of scent in a burgundy slim sort of angular bottle with a gold lid and I think some black vertical line on the bottle ? I can Remember Rive Gauche (sp) and Je Reviens being popular at the same time but can't find anything like this on google ! It's driving me mad

Actually just realised Samsara was 1989 so not an early 89s scent.

I recently went back on the Rive Gauche in a stroke of sentimentality. The number of people sniffing me 'what is that' 'ooh, that smells familiar'. I still like it.

Not yet ! Loving some of these though , I loved opium , poison, Venezia and samsara. I'm sure it began with an r and sounded French but I can't really remember! Definitely very dark burgundy, black and gold and angular , spicy yet sharp . Probably smells different now anyway. My first proper boyfriend bought me Lancôme magie noir in 83 and I revisited it recently and was so disappointed ! Nothing like I remember.

Not cinnabar, I've just googled late 70s perfume but no luck ,
Now there's loads of perfumes I need to buy !!

Was it Byzance?

The bottle casing was solid plastic material not opaque or clear

Oh what a trip down memory lane. I had exclamation and loved my Lou Lou. Used to while away hours at the Body Shop perfume oils. My mum used to wear Rive Gauche (I think she still does!)....the only other one I can remember was Charlie. But that was in a see through bottle.

Could it be this not exactly the same as your drawing but it was 30 years ago
