@SoyYo just checked and my Felix is a S so I think that will be ok for you too. I usually layer it with a long sleeved tee underneath.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/10/2019 14:39

I think the 12 will be fine. I wish it would come soon so that i can post it back quickly if it doesnt suit. I dont even think they have dispatched it yet and then will have to wait for a further day or so for RM to deliver it. I really hate waiting.

Gigglebert · 10/10/2019 14:45

Arrggh... Newish to hush and hadn't seen the Pelle coat before, spent the last couple of hours swithering about whether to order or not and when I went back only size 16 left! I've ordered it but pretty sure it'll be too big as I'm usually a 14 and lots of reviews seem to say it runs big... I do have quite wide shoulders so maybe it'll be ok, I guess if its not I've saved £80?!

SoyYo · 10/10/2019 14:52

Yes that Pelle coat has a few of us wondering...anyway cherries angst on sizing made me go check a 12 but it’s now OOS in all sizes except 18 I think so no more dithering allowed Grin
Yes cherries you and me both will be whingeing about slow Hush refunds...if they weren’t so bloody hopeless with their turnaround I’d have bought more from the sale.
Also there’ll be other sizes popping back in for oos items as people start returning (that’ll be me then Grin).

Thanks for the confirmation on the Felix soups Smile

Velvet jacket worn with lovely new Boden top. Can’t decide about the jacket, I like it but not sure I like it enough and don’t know how much wear it’ll get.

Oh @twosoups1972 its lovely! You look fab

SoyYo · 10/10/2019 16:17

It’s a stunning jacket soups it’s got a Russian Folk vibe too. Try styling it with a flowy skirt or wide leg trousers. I think it’s quite different from the usual high street party/evening jackets and I like it very much on you.

twosoups1972 · 10/10/2019 16:25

Thank you both, I'm just wondering about the length, if it's a bit short on me and making me look booby?

Sooverthemill · 10/10/2019 17:28

It's lovely soups and I thunk length fine ( incidentally I like your doors)

@Gigglebert check the hush website each morning from 8 am for returns

GinandGingerBeer · 10/10/2019 18:24

My first sale order came today, Tara dress which is a nicer shade of green than it looks on the website. I know it's a keeper as I have it in black/burgundy/grey and a short sleeved navy one. Oh and short sleeved in khaki too 🤣🤣🤣
The Bloomsbury dress..... or tent!..... my god it's huge! I ordered an 8 and I could fit 3 of me in it. Not tried it on but not holding out much hope unless I can make it work with a belt. Shame as it's a lovely print.
Im too tired to try on but will post some pics along with the blossom skirt (not sure if I need to size up in this for a bit more glow....)

GinandGingerBeer · 10/10/2019 18:44

Flow not glow!
Although maybe glowing in the dark with the static Grin

neveradullmoment99 · 10/10/2019 18:53

I did wonder @GinandGingerBeer although I though maybe it was a new term I didn't know about [ always possible!!]
@twosoups love the jacket but as @soyo says, try on with wide legs or a long flowy skirt or even skinnies tucked into boots might just give you an idea of the different possibilities :)

GinandGingerBeer · 10/10/2019 21:02

Only just seen your pics @twosoups as they didn't load on the train earlier. Gorgeous top and jacket. The jacket would look good over a dress too....
👍🏻👍🏻

Huffthepuff · 11/10/2019 12:47

Bought a Velvet jacket from M&S that I was dithering over. 20% off sweetened the deal. Think it might be too formal for me though? Would love to hear your thoughts on how I can style it and whether I should keep. With discount is was £71

I love the colour. But is the style 'me'?

Sooverthemill · 11/10/2019 13:29

@Huffthepuff I love it! Gorgeous colour and styled with or without belt really nice. I'm not a big 'dresser upper' but I'd think with a long skirt for going out. But even jeans for a casual event. I really like it.

Huffthepuff · 11/10/2019 14:02

Thanks @Sooverthemill 🤗 yes I'm the same. Not really one for getting dressed up. But when I do have the occasion to, I then moan about having nothing to wear 😂 I definitely feel more comfortable in smart casual than anything too formal. Also not sure what kind of coat you could wear over this?

SoyYo · 11/10/2019 14:21

Huff I understand your conundrum. When I saw it at M&S I thought the same. Beautiful velvet, stunning colour but how would I work that style to dress it down a little and get sufficient wear? Now seeing it on you I have to say it’s lovely, I mean suits your figure and I love it with the belt done up too. I say you can get away with dressing it down with jeans and a plain jumper. For dressing up a no brainer will go over any number of plainer black dresses, wide leg trousers with a satin vest top. It’s a tricky colour to match to other colours though but it’s such a stunning shade it would definitely work with neutrals: Black, navy, even chocolate brown.
I’m not sure what coat you could wear on top but the potential for boho Velvet wafting is huge with it unbelted and more formal if you belt it up.

SoyYo · 11/10/2019 14:22

Cream shades and some greys would also work with it beautifully

SoyYo · 11/10/2019 14:24

I say Keep. I’ve not seen that specific shade anywhere else in the High Street.

SoyYo · 11/10/2019 14:26

And it looks good as you’ve styled it as a dress down vibe. The more I look at it the more I like it. You look amazing in it.

SoyYo · 11/10/2019 14:31

Gin sorry the zebra dress didn’t work but at least you’ve got a Tara to add to its sisters (oh look mum got us a new sibling! Grin). Now I really want to see the skirt too! Wink

soups the velvet embroidered jacket doesn’t make you look booby at all but I get your paranoia...I’m the same.

NotAnActualSheep · 11/10/2019 14:54

Oooooh huff -yes, i love that. As soy says, the colour is so lovely and unusual and the shape really suits you. I understand the coat conundrum - but in terms of dressing it down a bit, i think it is great with what you have on in the photo. Also - what is that mysterious looking gourd thing?!

soups - you too on the velvet jacket! That is so pretty and lovely embroidery. And yes, it does have that folky russian vibe!

gin - I still really want to see the glowy/ flowy skirt...Glad the tara works for you (it was a disaster on me - straight back in the box!).

soover - OMG those boots....I can see why you've fallen in love with them Grin . Surely you could treat yourself to them with all the money you've made from your sales?! Or, yes, Christmas... I think you should try a few of the dresses. What about the emmanuelle like ella had upthread? That's not too short, but isn't a "long" midi. And its such a pretty pattern with the stars. I've got the dylan trousers from last year (with the black stripe) and really like them. They are good for work things, but could also be dressed down for smart casual. They are pretty big, though. I think I should have sized down on reflection, as I keep having to hoick up the tie waist...

laska - so glad you had a good holiday! Sounds like a good haul from the sale...I think the elodie dress (or the zebra swooshy dress) would look fab with the green trainers. As you say, very stylish and Continental...

ideas - I think cherries and soover have given good trouser and knit suggestions! I'd second the lacey jumper. And also the stella jumpers are always good for a punt - though the big star thing is a bit ubiquitous now.

len - hope the decorating plans aren't sending you boss-eyed! Sounds v exciting...

Really looking forward to seeing the various Pelle coats. I missed out on that, but I have far too many winter wool coats, really. And basically, I just wear the waterproof ones I have with hoods all the time in the winter... And also the velour top soy - I was considering that one - but was a bit Hmm about the velour things from last year, so would like to know what you think of the quality...

Right - I'm off to Dundee for the night. I know how to live it up...

Huffthepuff · 11/10/2019 15:14

@SoyYo yes that's just it. I will have to try it on with some other bits from my wardrobe to get a feel for how it could work. It's no use keeping if it'll sit around looking lovely on a hanger

@NotAnActualSheep it's some kind of giant spoon made from a coconut shell. Previous owners left it behind (can't think why). My Ds loves it and has taken to running round swatting things with it (me) so I've had to hide it in our bedroom. Have fun in Dundee!

Sooverthemill · 11/10/2019 15:40

Ive looked on Pinterest for velvet smiling jacket outfits @HuffthepuffD find this! Yours is a bargain. I do like the idea of velvet palazzo pants.

So I've ordered 3 coats from Boden ( I didn't spend for about 4 days @Ellapaella will be cross) as I did want a new decent coat and they were doing 20% off. I did a separate thread. I won't keep more than one and only one if I really love it. My justification is that DH spent £200 on a car hire for his 4 days away with older DCs to save the 'hassle' of 2 train journeys and as he said 'it's only money' .
