Tour itinerary

As always, let's critique the clothes and not the wearers.

place marking ,sorry to use a post and offer no content!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/09/2019 09:28

In which case what was the point of mentioning Archie at all?

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 09:30

To stop people doing the “how can she bear to leave him?” routine they did when she went to New York?

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/09/2019 09:32

The article mentioned Archie being given as a reason not to attend an evening function but where did the author get their information?

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 22/09/2019 09:37

It looks like there's one, possibly two, evening events for both of them in SA and then a couple more for Harry when he goes on the solo part of the trip. So four evening events for a 10 day trip.

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 09:38

“there are few evening events in a programme designed in part to take into account the needs of Archie”

Few evening events scheduled. A bit different to events scheduled but not attended. .

itswinetime · 22/09/2019 09:41

The press were sure Meghan and Harry were going to balmoral, then they were sure that Meghan snubbed the queen, then they were sure that the queen uninvited them. And that's one story not to mention the whole list of rules given to residents, anything that doesn't come from the palace (in regards to tours etc). I don't think can be really trusted and I don't see the palace giving Archie as a reason!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 22/09/2019 09:42

I don’t think she is BF. Because Ellen said on her show that she had fed Archie. So unless she too is lactating...

Yes, I know she could be expressing and mixed feeding, but it doesn’t look like it to me.

I always felt funny about people other than DH feeding my baby with my EBM, don’t know why.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 09:45

And imagine what the press would do to a program of glitzy evening dos?

Wetdogloveshubert · 22/09/2019 10:06

I thought this thread would appreciate the Smart Works update the Sussexes put up yesterday.

Does it matter if she is BFing or not?

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 10:24

“Does it matter if she is BFing or not?“
Nope.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 10:27

That’s brilliant news from SmartWorks! I wonder if they’ll do it again as it’s been such a success. Maybe with a coat?

On a “fashion” point- I wonder why they chose blue for the coloured dress. Does it suit more people than any other colour?

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/09/2019 10:29

Does that mean the initiative isn't running for more than two weeks @Wetdogloveshubert? That's a shame but I guess they have to work with what the retailers can do.

Good article on the launch of Smartworks in Leeds. Goes into detail about what they do beyond providing interview clothes.

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/09/2019 10:31

Then again if they've already got all they need for a year then it won't need to run for more than a fortnight!

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 10:32

Yes- it was only for two weeks. Retailers wouldn’t have bought in to anything that wasn’t time limited. And most charities have serious problems with storage.

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/09/2019 10:38

Yes, very true. I agree it'd be great if they could do it again next year but with different items.

Re the lack of evening events - maybe Archie is having a nightmare 4 month sleep regression and they want to be around for him as much as possible. I've also used my babies as an excuse to get out of things sometimes, so shoot me.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 10:43

Ooh- let’s play “pick the items” while we wait for more frocks!

Would shoes be ridiculous? A standard mid heel court shoe? Most women are 4-7, aren’t t they?

A coat? Although there are usually a lot of donated coats because they tend to last quite well.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 10:45

“I've also used my babies as an excuse to get out of things sometimes, so shoot me.”

The schedule surely will have been planned ages ago- without many evening events. If they are there to see what’s happening “on the ground” then black tie evening stuff is unnecessary. Except for those of us who want to see glamorous clothes!

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/09/2019 10:50

@BertrandRussell Shoes could get Clarks involved. Not a glamorous brand but British (I think!) and a good choice for a comfortable work shoe.

Maybe a skirt suit this time as not everyone likes trousers. And a knee-length shift dress?

OP posts:
DobbyTheHouseElk · 22/09/2019 11:16

Does it matter if she’s BF or not?

Of course it doesn’t. But it makes it a hell of a lot easier to leave him if she isn’t. (Practically not emotionally obviously)

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/09/2019 13:35

Maxima has been out and about a bit this week. Here she is in some outfits only she could carry off. The bird is real and not a bracelet though when it comes to her accessories, nothing surprises me!

I would love to know why she appears to have taken a parrot to a wedding!
