Tour itinerary

As always, let's critique the clothes and not the wearers.

Bertrand Max wasn't at a wedding, she was visiting factories and community projects. That parrot can whistle the national anthem!

StCharlotte · 22/09/2019 14:35

I went into Clarks the other day. They are now practically unaffordable.

More black frocks to a wedding!

But it's an Italian wedding. Black is practically de rigeur.

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/09/2019 14:44

There was a point a few years ago when Clark's started to charge ridiculous amounts but I thought they've gone back down in price again now.

Disfordarkchocolate · 22/09/2019 15:03

I love Clarks because they fit me well, however, so many of the styles I like are suede only I rarely shop there anymore.

Stravapalava · 22/09/2019 15:05

I saw those pics of Max on Insta. I love her expressive face!

ThingsImighthavedone · 22/09/2019 15:10

If she isn't BF I don't know why she would say she had to rush back to feed Archie the other day. That doesn't make any sense. The nanny could have given him a bottle. It just sounds like she is using him as an excuse to get out of things except when it's a wedding in Rome or a trip to NY....

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/09/2019 15:15

Why assume the worst? She could've used him as an excuse to get out of this whole trip or to not do any work at all since he was born but she hasn't. And it's not like she was at the Smartworks launch for only 5 minutes and then left. It sounds like she was there for the duration of it.

itswinetime · 22/09/2019 15:48

What's wrong with her just wanting to get back to feed her son? Yes someone else could of done it of course they could but maybe she just wanted to!

Or maybe she was done and ready to leave didn't Kate say once she gets teased for taking so long on walk abouts and it's a skill that takes time to learn? She as been known to say she has to get back for the school run nowadays hasn't she? Meghan is probably copying that trick! No one seems to question Kate on why the nannies aren't doing the school run instead. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm not to sure why it really matters it's not like she left after 5 mins.

shedid · 22/09/2019 16:10

For all we know, they could have taken Archie with them to Rome with a nanny but kept it under wraps. No one knows what he looks like so 🤷🏻‍♀️
I don't understand why she is given constant stick.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/09/2019 16:18

I don't think she is getting stick. None of the posts about MM are critical, just people making very casual observations, and yet there seems to be this hysterical reaction every time her name comes up.

MayaWhySoDown · 22/09/2019 16:31

She's probably mix feeding or maybe EPing, but who really cares?

I also need to know about the parrot...

JaimeBronde · 22/09/2019 16:40

Max's parrot is so groomed that it looks like a handbag. (Sorry parrot)

UrsulaPandress · 22/09/2019 16:45

Must go need to walk the dog is my go to excuse.

MayaWhySoDown · 22/09/2019 16:45

If she's EPing, I did that for a bit and can definitely remember having to rush home some evenings with horribly sore, hard boobs to Express. (Tmi sorry Blush).

Agree, that parrot is very well turned out.

BertrandRussell · 22/09/2019 16:52

Some new definition of the word “hysterical” I haven’t previously encountered!

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 22/09/2019 19:43

Just saw that Ivanka was wearing her mother's dress from 1991.

thisenglishlife · 22/09/2019 22:16

Lady Kitty Spencer in custom Dolce and Gabbana gown, a bit Tudor and a bit Georgian.

There's something different about her face.

If the story about not leaving Archie in the evenings is true, IF, it is unfortunate PR again. If he can be left while his parents go to a wedding or a tennis match in other countries, he can be left for an evening while they do their actual job of representing the Queen.

BertrandRussell · 23/09/2019 02:19

The Telegraph article says that the itinerary was planned in part with Archie’s needs in mind. If that’s true, I honestly can’t see why anyone would object to that!

mathanxiety · 23/09/2019 03:33

If b'fing, then it's maybe easier to say 'Whoops, gotta go feed the baby' than 'If my boobs don't get emptied soon I'm going to start grimacing from pain'.

How are we so sure Archie wasn't in Rome?

H&M can represent the Queen very adequately and appropriately at daytime events where grassroots initiatives are celebrated. The theme of the tour appears to be empowerment of women at ground level, and shining a spotlight on misogyny and violence against women and girls and swanking around in tiaras may not relate well to that.

Plus, South Africa hasn't always had a happy relationship with the Commonwealth. It left in 1961, when the office of Governor General was abolished, and rejoined in 1994 without reinstatement of the post. A full on black tie and evening gown tour might not be appropriate from a political pov in SA whereas it might go down well in NZ, Aus or Canada.

itswinetime · 23/09/2019 04:00

Im sure when William and Kate have done tours with the children their itinerary's have been worked out with the kids in mind. I'm not really sure why it's even been mentioned I would be surprised if anyone travelling with a child particularly a baby didn't plan things slightly differently to if they were travelling with without 🤷🏻‍♀️

ThingsImighthavedone · 23/09/2019 04:58

Of course the itinerary should be worked out to take account of babies/children. It’s just an anomaly that Archie can be left with ease for private social engagements but not for ‘work’nengagements.

banivani · 23/09/2019 05:39

Omg that dolce and gabbana gown is amaaaazing!

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/09/2019 06:22

Not royal but while we wait for the SA tour to begin, and if you're feeling a bit starved of glamour, here's some gowns from last night's Emmy Awards.

In 2016 the Duchess of C broke a century old tradition of a senior female royal distributing shamrock to the Irish Guards on St Patrick’s Day due to the fact that she would be on a tour to India later that month and wanted to spend time with the children. There were people who very upset but the media didn’t take much notice. I can only imagine that the Duchess of S would be eviscerated if she did something similar.
