As always, let's critique the clothes and not the wearers.

I truly don’t understand this thing about having to cover red hair. Harry has red hair. I absolutely LOVE red hair. Why on earth would they want to conceal it?
I do think a woolly hat in a hot country is beyond strange though.

mathanxiety · 24/09/2019 01:42

Banivani, that long article in Swedish on Leti has photos that show her with two completely different noses.

mathanxiety · 24/09/2019 01:55

SA isn't a hot country all year, only in summer. It's Spring there now.

It was a cool morning in Cape Town.

mathanxiety · 24/09/2019 02:28

I am not a fan of MM's blue dress but I loved the black and white one which is by Malawi based brand Mayamiko - From the Mad About Meghan site linked by a PP ...
(It's not just vegan):
"Established by Paola Masperi, Mayamiko The Label is an ethical and sustainable woman's wear and life style brand, producing clothes, accessories and homeware, lovingly made in Malawi by our team of tailors, pattern cutters and seamstresses. Our collections are cross-seasonal and are inspired by African artisanal traditions and prints, with ethical trading and sustainability at our core. Our collections are designed for the global modern woman, while giving ode to their birthplace through the use of traditional African techniques and local printed fabrics, locally referred to as Chitenje. We strongly believe that ethical and sustainable production is the only acceptable way of producing, and feel that shopping ethically should not compromise the quality or design of the product but rather enhance and add value to it."

'Mayamiko works in partnership with Mayamiko Trust, a charity set up by Paola in 2008 after her extensive travels in Africa. Mayamiko aims to help the most disadvantaged people in Malawi by nurturing their creative talents and turning them in to sustainable activities that could be transferable to trade practices. Lifting people out of poverty and towards a better future.

The Charity and brand work together through the Mayamiko Fashion Lab where our garments are made. The Mayamiko Fashion Lab was designed to provide training, education, nutrition, sanitation and fairer trade practices to all of those involved. The project currently provides training in sewing and tailoring as well as financial and business skills to local, disadvantaged women, many of whom are affected by the HIV pandemic or who are carers of HIV orphans. After their training all trainees receive a recognised qualification as well as mentoring, guidance and access to a micro-finance scheme, enabling them to start their own business.'

I love the espadrilles. They strike a perfectly casual note, the ankle ties add a festive note, the black helps to balance the all over blue dress, and they go really well with the B/W dress. Plus they are easy to balance in and walk around in.

“I truly don’t understand this thing about having to cover red hair.”

It was just red head bants, don’t worry. Smile

peridito · 24/09/2019 08:43

ThingsImighthavedone I lost my hair with chemo and was amazed how chilly it was .

BrewCake 24 hours in - comments on the tour from several threads and elsewhere:

*Why does the baby need a hat?
*She wasn't carrying the baby properly
*She deliberately covered the baby up to garner attention and cause him to overheat
*She knew the photographer at the airport was there
*She's fake
*Why are they not doing a UK tour
*She mentioned her colour
*Foreign tours are a waste to time
*She's unprofessional
*Sophie or Anne would have done so much better
*Others in the royal family would never have mentioned their colour or made a big deal about being white
*Why does she have to hold his hand all the time
*She's so cringy
*She's not mentioned the poor folk at Thomas Cook
*Her speech was all about her
*It's insensitive to tour when Thomas Cook is in trouble and people are using food banks
*Her hair is a mess
*Why not donate the cost of travel to the charities
*Why didn't she let Harry speak, no one wants to hear from her
*She doesn't even try to represent the royal family
*Why keep banging on about women and feminism. Whatabout the Menz
*She's patronising
*She's embarrassed the country by quoting Maya Angelou
*She read her speech from a notepad. She clearly didn't write it herself
*Her speech was too political/aimed at American audiences/amateurish/clearly written by professionals

I'm having fun reading the frothing though Grin

MotherofPearl · 24/09/2019 09:18

Gosh Becles, it's pretty awful seeing all those negative comments listed like that. I really hope she doesn't read this stuff; it would grind down even someone very tough and confident I'd have thought.

FWIW I think she's doing a great job and is a real asset to the RF and by extension, the country.

I really liked the b&w dress on her yesterday, and I even liked the espadrilles, though I've never liked that blue dress.

AngelasKellyBag · 24/09/2019 09:27

Long time lurker.
I’m impressed by Meghan’s frugal wardrobe on this tour.
Rewear blue dress from Oz/NZ ( I’m not keen but Haz seems to like it)
Local designer of £70 b&w dress.
Wedges have been seen before and they look fine to me!
Today, she’s wearing a denim jacket, what could be a smartworks shirt and jeans.

There’s a lot of frothing on other threads, but why has everyone been speculating on her reproductive state and body shape here?
As far as I can see the woman has been working hard, stepped off an overnight flight and went straight to work.

Relurks.

ElspethFlashman · 24/09/2019 09:31

Becles if those comments are all over several other threads, why bring them into this one? This has been pretty positive. You're just dragging the bitchery into it.

paradyning · 24/09/2019 09:32

Love her very MN look today. She even is rocking the French tuck!

MotherofPearl · 24/09/2019 09:41

@paradyning photos please!

StartupRepair · 24/09/2019 09:42

Like Meghan's look but Harry is a bit too scruffy even for a casual event.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/09/2019 09:49

A casual look from Meghan and...flats!

What’s in the shopping bag?!

DevonUkelele · 24/09/2019 09:57

Her casual game is very strong! And she looks happy - lovely pix.

It does seem that is the Smart Works Misha Nonoo shirt, with a Madwell (?) denim jacket. The jacket is nice!

And some £500 earrings to round it off.

I like the green on Harry. Better pics of him seem to be hard to come by, but the bottom half is runners and some kind of anonymous grey chino pant 😁

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/09/2019 09:57

Indeed! What do duchesses carry in their handbags? Lipstick, face powder, a small mirror, tampons, phone, maybe notes about wherever they're visiting?

OP posts:
DevonUkelele · 24/09/2019 09:59

Maybe she grabbed her nappy bag by mistake? Who hasn't done that! 😂😂

Or maybe it has curated organically grown, free range snacks in case they get hungry on the journey?

MrsGrindah · 24/09/2019 10:28

If it’s anything like the contents of my last shopping bag, she’s carrying bananas , loo roll, sugar and yoghurts

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/09/2019 10:29

I like the look of tote bags but always prefer one that has some sort of closure at the top.

OP posts:
evilharpy · 24/09/2019 10:34

Ooh I like that tote.

She looks great again.

Becles Seeing everything written down like that makes me shake my head too. It just shows the insanity and stupidity of the Meghan haters. She is doing a great job ignoring them and is an absolute asset to the RF.

Love her bag. There is no need to be critical in this thread either - nappy bag indeed! . It is a ‘style and beauty’ thread and oversized totes are stylish.

If you disagree, then this entire thread needs to go to chat as it has no place in style and besuty.

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 24/09/2019 10:45

Meghan looks absolutely fabulous there. Glowing & radiant. Love the tote bag.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 24/09/2019 10:48

I vote for sun glasses, sun cream, phone and make up for touch ups.
