As always, let's critique the clothes and not the wearers.

I think she is pregnant too,

I don’t think she is showing here but I think she has that early pregnancy bloating thing happening.
Might explain lack of evening dos?

peridito · 23/09/2019 19:59

Oh yes I agree something like the Office wedges -lots of lovely colours including nude - would have been more flattering .

Yes very long would also look fab! And I believe very long coats will be the big thing this A/W.

Ninkaninus · 23/09/2019 20:03

Oh fiddlesticks, wrong thread!

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 23/09/2019 20:06

I don’t like the Office wedges. They look frumpy.

Meghan can easily wear the ribbon wedges because she has very well shaped legs. If I wore them, my fat calves look like sausages being squeezed in the middle.

I wondered if she is pregnant too but last week in the black trousers, she looked quite different but I think she has the normal (for most) post pregnancy body. She also had her first pregnancy quite late (like I did) and for shorter people at least, it is much harder to get back your pre pregnancy body. Just imagine! She may not be even trying. I think she is quite right.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 23/09/2019 20:07

I don’t think she’s pregnant. She’s a normal shape for postpartum. Only 4 months. Can’t really see that she is pregnant again. I still look pregnant sometimes 8years later.

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 23/09/2019 20:23

I think she looks fab. 20+ years since I gave birth & I still look preggers. The yo-yo dieting has not helped. Wink

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/09/2019 20:32

I don't actually think she's pregnant, I just thought the way her dress was tied might spark rumours in the tabloids.

I liked both outfits today, not so keen on the espadrilles - especially with the blue dress. Harry looks like the man from Del Monte 🙄

BertrandRussell · 23/09/2019 20:39

I don’t think she’s pregnant either- I think she’ll want to do some more stuff first.

Do you think the bobble hat was to conceal his ginger Afro?

Ninkaninus · 23/09/2019 20:41

I don’t think she’s pregnant either. She’s just carrying baby weight still which is perfectly fine given that she’s had a baby only a few months ago.

I liked the espadrilles with the b&w dress but I think she should have worn something else with the blue dress.

LenoVintura · 23/09/2019 21:03

Bertrand I think the hat was to cover up his hair because he's ginger too! I hope he is (I'm saying that as the mother of a redhead myself).

BertrandRussell · 23/09/2019 21:11

Yes- i’m speaking as a redhead and the mother of a redhead!

Laiste · 23/09/2019 21:11

Gooseysgirl - Harry looks like the man from Del Monte

MrsGrindah · 23/09/2019 21:32

Is Meghan that short? How tall is she? I hated the blue dress. Just doesn’t fall right and looks crumpled.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 23/09/2019 21:44

Bertrand I think the hat was to cover up his hair because he's ginger too!

What a bizarre statement. Why would they want to cover his ted hair?

The dislike of ginger hair is a peculiarly British trait. Elsewhere in the world it is celebrated.

Red hair runs is in the RF genes. Unless it is also in Meghan’s genes, Archie sadly won’t have it.

thisenglishlife · 23/09/2019 21:45

She's about 5'5", maybe a bit under.
Why would they cover red hair? 😂

LenoVintura · 23/09/2019 21:51

Doyoureallyneedtoask if (and it's a big if) he has ginger hair, then that will attract a LOT of comment and hate which both Bertrand and I understand as parents of redheads. Dislike of red hair is not only a British trait, my ginger DS has been physically and verbally attacked on a number of occasions by Eastern Europeans, particularly Poles, because of his colouring.
If you put the racism that is directed towards Meghan, together with a baby redhead, then haters gonna hate, as they say. I imagine they don't want any more attention on Archie than is absolutely necessary given their expressed wish for his privacy to be protected.

Of course it may be none of the above and it was just a bit chilly on landing...

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 23/09/2019 21:54

Thisenglishlife are you laughing at my question? I honestly don’t know why.

Nicole Kidman, Isla Fisher, Julianne Moore, Amy Adams and countless other beautiful redheads not forgetting one of the most beautiful of all Katherine Hepburn. It really is an English thing not to see it as being the most beautiful hair colour.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 23/09/2019 22:16

What a bizarre statement. Why would they want to cover his red hair?

It's not at all bizarre to a redhead. Looks like we're well represented on this thread!

thisenglishlife · 23/09/2019 22:16

I don't see why they would cover red hair.

I have lots of red haired relatives and dark red hair myself.

There is no most beautiful hair colour.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 23/09/2019 22:30

Eastern Europeans have red hair too!

In fairness if somebody’s son was assaulted because he had red hair, he was going to be assaulted if he had mousy brown hair. Thugs are thugs and don’t require excuses to assault people.

Again I repeat, it’s an English mentality.

It’s particularly strange given there are so many royalists in the UK that such racism/discrimination still remains around it.

UrsulaPandress · 23/09/2019 22:38

My mother had the must beautiful dark red hair. It has always been a major disappointment to me that I did not inherit it and nor did my DD.

DevonUkelele · 23/09/2019 22:45

What I find interesting as a fat not so slender woman, are the challenges that Meghan and Kate have even though they're both very slim. As someone who is still carrying baby weight eleven years after the last baby, I often think how easy it would be to dress nicely if I was slender (I have a vague recollection) but then I see long torso-ed Kate or short waisted Meghan both getting a length or cut 'wrong' and realise that whatever size we are, we all have body challenges that can be tricky to work with. I guess that's why it's frustrating when you see them (and other royals/rich/celebrity types) in an outfit that costs more than many people earn in a year, and it doesn't fit quite right, or has darts in the wrong places or similar.

Yes, yes to this, @frugalkitty!

FWIW, I like that blue dress on Meghan, was one of my favourites from the Down Under tour. But can we burn/ban those bloody wedges please? Is somebody in a position to have a word in HM's ear 😁?

As to the other speculation, I'm inclined to think she hasn't lost all the baby weight yet - and good on her, if so.

But, at 38, she's hardly likely to muck around if she does want another baby. I'm predicting a baby late next year - 18 month gap or thereabouts. She has the resources to help manage a smaller gap, and time is not on her side.

StartupRepair · 23/09/2019 22:49

I think she is a natural tiny apple shape who stayed rigorously slim during her Hollywood years and now has a bit of baby weight.
