Tour itinerary

As always, let's critique the clothes and not the wearers.

I have those shoes. They are perfect for events which need comfortable footwear but not super formal

paradyning · 23/09/2019 15:18

God. Bloody espadrille wedges.
Love her hair and make up though.

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/09/2019 15:22

She looks good. Nothing groundbreaking but occasion appropriate and it's a nice touch that the dress designer is African and it's ethically made. But looking at the photos I'm expecting an "is baby Sussex 2 on their way?" thread soon!

I think she looks great, love the dress and the whole understated look. Not a massive fan of the shoes only because they are overpowering on her with that hefty ribbon tie. But I admire her for looking that fresh after a long journey!

iknowimcoming · 23/09/2019 15:26

Agree Queen!

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/09/2019 15:31

Mad about Meghan has more photos and video, including details of the speeches they gave at today's visit.

I thought the evening reception was today but it's tomorrow. Apparently today will be rounded off with a community cooking class.

“Apparently today will be rounded off with a community cooking class.”
God. I’ll never say they don’t earn their money again!

frugalkitty · 23/09/2019 15:35

Queen I have to say that it crossed my mind when I saw the pics.....also read an article today that one of the betting firms have stopped taking bets on Kate expecting again because apparently, she's......got a new hairstyle! Confused

UrsulaPandress · 23/09/2019 15:56

Meghan does look fuller figured than pre Archie but I wouldn't like to speculate.

BertrandRussell · 23/09/2019 16:02

I’m just assuming that being a confident adult woman, she doesn’t mind not being a size 6 4 months after having a baby.

Horsemad · 23/09/2019 16:04

She only had him 5 mths ago, so could still be carrying baby weight.

That said, I got pg again soon after my first baby was born and I started to show quite quickly! 😉

Spudlet · 23/09/2019 16:04

I kind of like the dress, I think the cap sleeves are maybe a bit too flouncy for my tastes? But it’s a good fashion diplomacy choice, and I like the print.

I think the shoes are a bit clumpy for me, obviously heels wouldn’t work, but something a bit more streamlined might have been better. But that’s only a question of personal taste.

Love her delicate jewellery, as always!

Lunde · 23/09/2019 16:06

I love the dress but not keen on the shoes - don't usually mind wedges but the big black ribbon makes her look a bit cut off at the ankles

Sooverthemill · 23/09/2019 16:07

I thunk she looks lovely and as, a mum who had to back to work when DD was 5 months not the 4 Archie is, I'm in awe of how good she does look. I don't think she's pregnant, I reckon she's being sensible about losing the pregnancy weight, most women don't ping back immediately

RomaineCalm · 23/09/2019 16:08

I'm not sure about the dress - the print and the top half is nice but there's something odd about the length/hemline.

Saying that she looks beautiful. I've just seen the photos of her dancing and she looks genuinely engaged and happy.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 23/09/2019 16:12

I think she looks lovely.

Wrap dresses were often tipped to be the perfect dress for bigger chested women.

The shoes are a nice choice. Informal with height.

I was looking at a review of Meghan’s clothes recently on some website. It was a side by side with Kate. Two very different styles. Meghan is very true to her own style and is so chic. I think some people are simply born with a sense of style and a good eye for colours.

frugalkitty · 23/09/2019 16:22

What I find interesting as a fat not so slender woman, are the challenges that Meghan and Kate have even though they're both very slim. As someone who is still carrying baby weight eleven years after the last baby, I often think how easy it would be to dress nicely if I was slender (I have a vague recollection) but then I see long torso-ed Kate or short waisted Meghan both getting a length or cut 'wrong' and realise that whatever size we are, we all have body challenges that can be tricky to work with. I guess that's why it's frustrating when you see them (and other royals/rich/celebrity types) in an outfit that costs more than many people earn in a year, and it doesn't fit quite right, or has darts in the wrong places or similar.

I rather like Meghan's outfit today, and she looks like she's enjoying herself. Make up is perfect as always, she has luminous skin, lucky girl.

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/09/2019 16:38

Second stop of the day and it's an Oz tour rewear for Meghan! She does like a tie waist, doesn't she?

And Harry won't be parted from his light-coloured suits though I suppose an African tour is the perfect place for them.

OP posts:
TokyoSushi · 23/09/2019 16:47

Gosh Harry looks dreadful with the pale suits and the 90's leather necklace.

Nice blue dress for Meghan, J think it's just baby weight, rather than 'new baby weight'

frugalkitty · 23/09/2019 16:47

Harry always looks a bit rumpled in those light suits.

BertrandRussell · 23/09/2019 16:49

As I always say- Harry needs to sack his tailor.

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/09/2019 16:55

Harry really needs to speak to his father and get some phone numbers for tailors. Charles wears light suits on trips to hot countries too but his are always perfectly tailored and pressed. He's never been a looker but he does know how to wear a suit!!

OP posts:
ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 23/09/2019 16:56

Lordy, he needs a belt too.

She looks lovely in both dresses despite the shoes

AdaColeman · 23/09/2019 17:01

Harry looks as though he slept in that suit!
Not keen on Meghan's espadrilles, they look too heavy with the blue dress especially.
A nice bit of diplomatic dressing from her with the local vibe of the fabric for the black & white dress.
