Hi All,

I’ve been having hairloss for the last five months and am currently in the process of having blood tested. I’ve attached a photo - please be honest. Is it very noticeable?

Honestly, it's not at all! You look like you have a really thick head of hair.

HelgaHufflepuff76 · 20/09/2019 15:09

Not at all

thatwasMauijustmessingaround · 20/09/2019 15:10

I cannot see any hair loss at all either

Amy326 · 20/09/2019 15:10

No, it’s honestly not!

roseunicornblower · 20/09/2019 15:10

Can't notice at all.

Moominfan · 20/09/2019 15:11

Nope can't tell anything is amiss

64sNewName · 20/09/2019 15:11

No. I wouldn’t think you were having an issue at all.

RavenLG · 20/09/2019 15:11

There is a difference between the first and the second photo, but your hair in the second photo is pulled tighter to your scalp so it’s more defined. If I just saw the second photo I wouldn’t have know there was any issue, your hair looks healthy and thick.

If you are paranoid you could try these hair fibres. You shake them on and it fills in. There’s videos on YouTube

Here is a really cheesy advert for it

There are some good videos on YouTube of real people reviewing it.

WhatMeghanWants · 20/09/2019 15:14

No, it's not - honestly.
Hair loss would not have occurred to me looking at those photos.

Might be worth looking up Emma Guns online. She's a beauty journalist and often does videos/podcasts on hair loss and how she deals with it.

rebecca102 · 20/09/2019 15:17

That just looks normal Smile

Sarahlouiseis33 · 20/09/2019 15:21

Thank you all. You are all lovely. I’m really struggling with it especially not knowing what is causing it. Silly really but it is really affecting me. I’m constantly scrutinising my appearance 😔.

How do you know you have hair loss ? I lose sooo much hair every time I wash it . I still have shed loads of hair .. yours seems very thick .

Violetparis · 20/09/2019 15:23

No, I wouldn't notice.

ineedanotherholiday · 20/09/2019 15:27

I wouldn't notice at all, it actually looks quite thick In the second photo when pulled back x

sugarbum · 20/09/2019 15:28

Cannot see any hair loss at all. It looks like you have lovely thick hair.

I know its obvious to YOU. But to the rest of us its not at all noticable.

I do understand how anxious it makes you though. I have alopecia areata which comes and goes.
Some of it is bald spots. Like clean shiny skin so the powder is of no use as it needs hairs to stick to. (I use eyebrow powder to cover those - better than a shiny white spot in the midst of a load of dark hair)
Some of it is thinning, in which case the powder/fibres is quite useful

Apileofballyhoo · 20/09/2019 15:32

Looks normal to me.

Sarahlouiseis33 · 20/09/2019 15:34

@gubbsywubbsy I’m losing a lot more than usual washing my hair. Also I can pull my hand through my hair and get lots of loose strands 😢

OP posts:
gubbsywubbsy · 20/09/2019 15:38

I have that too , have you started washing your hair less often ? I only wash mine every 3/4:/ 5 days so I lose loads at once , if I run my fingers through loads comes out but I still have loads so don't worry about it .. why don't you try collecting it all over a period of 7 days and look at how much is there ? It might make you feel better about it as a whole rather than every time you touch it .

lizzie0712 · 20/09/2019 15:38

IamMadamX do you mind me asking what you use? My hair is exactly like yours.

Kazlay · 20/09/2019 15:42

Not one bit! If it really bothers you though, try some of that coloured root powder you use when your too lazy to dye it!

LemonBreeland · 20/09/2019 15:42

It really isn't noticeable. I had a lot of hair loss earlier this year, caused by the contraceptive injection. My ponytail is half the thickness it was, but it isn't noticeable as it came out all over, which it seems yours has too. Thyroid issues can also cause hair loss

Basil90 · 20/09/2019 15:44

I promise you can't notice at all!

ThirstyGhost · 20/09/2019 15:45

Honestly it doesn't look like you are having hair loss at all. Are you sure? How many is "lots of loose strands"? Because it's normal to lose I think 50 - 100 hairs a day. I mention because it is really easy to convince yourself that you are having hair loss, sometimes beginning with something like changing the frequency of the length of time between washes (like a PP was saying). You notice it, and then you start looking for "evidence" of more hair loss, and so it builds in your mind.... I'm only asking these things because it really doesn't look like you're having hair loss from those photos. But, if you're losing hundreds of hairs a day, it might be that we just can't see it because your hair is so thick.
