A cleanser that actually removes make up

Is there such a thing? Even with my latest Rituals expensive, oil-based one I can see traces of foundation in my pores. Don't want to scrub away at the skin either.
I was told to avoid micellar water as have dry, reddish (not yet rosacea) skin in the chin and cheek areas.
I used Lavera before this and Neals Yard Calendula. Despite the prices, neither gets the make up fully off.
Any ideas?

I do a double cleanse when I wear makeup. So something oil-based to remove makeup and then a wash.

Lush ultra bland followed by pixi glow tonic works for me

Do you use a flannel! I massage an elemis cleansing balm in with my fingers, leave for a minute and then remove with a warm wet flannel. It removes everything, even eye make up. I also have used Philosophy Purity as well which works well.

Liz Earle , used with a damp warm flannel or muslin cloth . Quite creamy so good for older /drier skin and no residue left

Garnier organics cornflower miscellar water! Only need one wipe of it each evening and it does the job!

double cleanse: first loo roll cotton ball and moisturiser to remove eye make up. then flannel, bar soap, warm water to remove the rest.

Cross post with calamity ( I have also used Elemis and that’s good too ) think the secret may be in the flannel 😉

No7 hot cloth or aldi vit c hot cloth cleansers for first cleanse, even on eyes. Instead of muslin i use a makeup remover cloth (brilliant even on waterproof mascara), then second cleanse i use micellar but you could try body shop camomile range or aloe range

I use baby oil. I’m sure someone will tell me that’s a bad idea but it works for me and my skin

Clinique Take The Day Off all the way.

Double cleanse. Clinique take the day off balm, removed with a warm damp flannel. Then La Roche Posay face wash. Tone, serum and moisturise. Sometimes it's an oil instead (rosehip or that Una Brennan Vit C). No makeup left.

Never thought of the hot cloth / flannel. Good idea! Do you have to wash it or change it each day? It would be good not to use throwaway cotton wool too.

Superfacialist Vitamin C cleansing oil takes every last scrap off.

I used to double cleanse, but I have started using the squalane cleanser from the Ordinary and it removes everything first time! I wouldn't use anything else now

Superdrug vitamin e cleanser and flannel

I used expensive bones bit simple oil cleanser works well. Take off with hot flannel. Tone with superdrug own brand glycolic acid. Total cost £9.

Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse followed by Special Cleansing Gel. The best.

Eve lom. Double cleanser? That’s like brushing your teeth twice. Weird marketing ploy that’s gone trendy.

I second @MissFoodie and use the Superdrug Vitamin E range cleanser with a warm water flannel and miscellar water after. It's revolutionised my skin.

I use micellar to remove makeup, then an oil cleanser with a hot flannel. Fresh flannel every day.

Only if you had a layer of makeup on your teeth. You'd wipe the makeup off and then brush them, no? Otherwise you're just brushing the makeup all over and mixing it in with the toothpaste.

Double cleanse really just means taking your makeup off totally thoroughly AND then cleaning the pores of your skin afterwards - because one or the other doesn't actually leave you clean.

You don't need to take your makeup off, then wash your face, THEN wash it again (which is understandably how double cleansing is often interpreted)
