MikeUniformMike · 06/09/2019 21:12

potato tops are those cold shoulder tops that have cutout shoulders.

Zinnia · 06/09/2019 21:56

Oh god I hate those tops @MikeUniformMike

Trainers with everything
Midi dresses
Wide leg trousers
Oversized everything
Also animal print as, loveislandaddict says

I love all of the above and will be sad when they go out of style again.

Obviously also contouring/ weird eyebrows/ Kardashian style but I've spent the last few years studiously ignoring that look and don't intend to change that now Grin

BeCoolYolande · 06/09/2019 21:58

As PPs have said the contouring, eyebrows and facial fillers.

On the plus side the beginnings of societal acceptance of women's different body shapes and sizes.
For a woman who was in her teens in the 80s this is a revelation.

GigiIdid · 06/09/2019 21:58

Veneers 😁

PinkLacy · 06/09/2019 22:03

Cold shoulder tops
Balayage
OTT eyebrows

People will still be pear shaped in 2020 and beyond; it’s not like it’s a fashion Hmm

whitershadeofpale · 06/09/2019 23:06

@PinkLacy of course there’s always women of different shapes or sizes but certain ones are definitely more fashionable at different points in history. So thin, flat chested flappers in the 20’s, hourglass curves in the 50’s, Twiggy style straight up and down in the 60’s etc etc. These things are cyclical though with just small changes, so the 60’s look returned in the 90’s and now we’re back to liking a curvy shape. It will change again soon no doubt. But of course non-celebs will continue to be their own shapes, just feeling inadequate about not matching the shape that’s currently en vogue.

ooooohbetty · 06/09/2019 23:15

@AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet

leggings were worn as trousers in the 80's.
I've seen someone in real life with buttock implants. They look absolutely ridiculous. People were laughing at the woman who had them as she walked past.

Stravapalava · 07/09/2019 01:02

Stupid eyebrows
Highlighter

Toodlesdeary · 07/09/2019 01:55

SpeckledyHen · 07/09/2019 06:19

Square ended eyebrows
Sink plunger mouths

HenriettaH · 07/09/2019 06:42

Messy buns - in more ways than one.

Augend · 07/09/2019 06:52

Yep fake everything. And cheap clothes. What a combination.

Cookit · 07/09/2019 06:57

I was thinking the other days that my kids will probably remember that I and Mums in general just always wore Breton stripes! Even half the kids clothes I buy are striped. The other day we were all in stripes and I barely noticed it until I wondered what looking at a photo of this day would look like in 20/30 years time.

JingsMahBucket · 07/09/2019 07:42

God awful mom jeans especially with the high ankles. I don’t know in the world fashion people sold that bad idea to The Yoof. And I can’t believe those kids were stupid enough to buy it in droves.

Tacobellend · 07/09/2019 08:22

Ha ha yes to stripes . I have a feeling my daughter wil think stripes will remind her of her mother when she's older .
