Can we stop with the stupid ‘can I speak to the manager/mum bob’ comments

I see the same ‘joke’ over and over and over again. We’re not rude about any other style of hair cut so what makes a short bob open to it?

I’ve had versions of bobs my whole adult life. I’m chronically ill and it takes a toll on my hair. It’s fine and thin. It can’t handle being coloured. It always looks best in a short sharp bob, cut into my neck at the back. Any longer and it looks like rats tails, any shorter and it sits flat to my head.

Reading the constant piss-take comments about my hairstyle gets me down (and there’s at least one on every short hair style thread).

It’s not even funny, it’s just boring.

I have just below shoulder length.

I get it cut three or four times a year. I tie it back when i need to.

Bobs suited me in the 80s but look super frumpy on me now, mainly as my jawline is shite now i am overweight and 50 plus!

Ba ha ha ha! OK I get the Karen bob thing. I've had the entry level one a couple of times but now it's much more sleek.

I still maintain that all women with hair shoulder length or shorter have bobs unless they can demonstrate otherwise.

Can anyone name a famous person with non bob hair?

I am sorry you feel this way. Must be annoying. I think a well cut bob looks lovely but would not suit me - I am a bit scruffy and I feel you have to "pull up your socks" if you have a bob if you see what I mean.

I am sure for every post about a bob there is one about those top knot bun things (on men and women!)

I actually think a bob haircut is the opposite of a “can I speak to the manager” do.
A bob to me says meek, inoffensive, people pleaser who doesn’t like to complain.
The “can I speak to the manager” cut is quite pushy and is also more working class.

Bobs can look amazing!! When Victoria Beckham had hers it was so sleek and classy. Emma Stone has a longer bob, looks fantastic.

Declaring that something 'isn't funny' means absolutely nothing. Humour is subjective. If every voluntary (yes, voluntary) style choice wasn't allowed to be lightly ribbed because someone, somewhere out there who donned the style was unwell... Well, there would be nothing to laugh at ever.

We have a woman in our office who used to have the exact speak to the manager haircut. She was really pushy and had a voice that went right through you. She was called something not dissimilar to Karen. Bloody good at her job though but i do remember PMSL when i first saw the meme.

To me, the 'CISTTM' haircut is a severe bob, shorn at the nape and with blocky highlights 😂

No one should have this haircut, it’s awful.

Being made into a meme is the best thing to happen to it as hopefully it will deter women from having their hair cut in this ‘style’!

As a PP said it’s the Kate Gosselin 2007ish cut, short and spiked at the back, usually darker and the front lighter and chin length, side parted and longer on one side, usually with stripy Hilights.

I’m just looking forward to everyone trying the bowl cut again.

I think it's really shit that we pick on women for standing up for themselves.

I've met way more arsehole men than women when working with customers so this tired Karen/talk to the manager haircut meme can fuck off, frankly.

Anyone else remember the ‘What Not to Wear’ series with Susannah and Trinny ? Every miraculous defrumping makeover included that same choppy, highlighted hairdo, whether it suited the person or not .

@LiveInAHidingPlace it's just a relatable meme, and it absolutely has zero to do with reasonable women standing up for themselves... it's poking fun at the 'customer is always right/ twat with expired coupon who treats retail workers like shit...' there is a male equivalent in the form of sunburnt, beer belly short man with sandals and wrap around blue reflective sunglasses who insists he's going to 'take it straight to the top' I love a good starter pack meme.
