Have anyone got the Hush dresses? I am not tall so midi and maxi dresses drown me, but the short dresses look like they could be quite shapeless. I would like to see how they look on real people.

Ellapaella · 16/09/2019 10:06

Thank you laska yes I am much better - spent all day Saturday in bed but back to normal now. Strange how when you feel really ill you can't remember what it feels like to fell normal then as soon as you feel better you instantly forget how awful you felt!

grannycake · 16/09/2019 10:31

BeardedMum I am a little over 5 foot 1 inch and the short dresses fall on my knee so perfect for me. The midis are too long (and the waist is n the wrong place as well). I have several dresses from Hush but the shift styles and the Ivy styles work the best for me

twosoups1972 · 16/09/2019 11:28

Glad you're feeling better @Ellapaella

Anyone bought from Baukjen recently? I still have a £50 credit voucher to use there, be a shame to waste it. Not sure what to get....

Sooverthemill · 16/09/2019 11:53

@twosoups I git 2 tops in the sale but they are summer ones. I'd quite like Gail jeans but expensive. The Marge hoodie looks lovely and may be on my Christmas list!

twosoups1972 · 16/09/2019 12:09

That's a lovely hoodie @soover what colour are you planning on buying?

There's a few things that have caught my eye in the sale but not many sizes left. Might see if I can get away with a 10. The Kimmy playsuit looks nice.

Sooverthemill · 16/09/2019 14:46

I think the grey @twosoups1972

SoyYo · 16/09/2019 15:42

Why did I just lose a post mid typing? Sad
Try again...
Ella I’m glad to read you’re feeling more human today, I’m sorry but the BA sale was too tempting and I’ve broken my no spend promise. I’m totally useless Blush but couldn’t resist...I was also tempted by the Megan skirt but in the end went for the Jasmin maxi (never has it) because I’m into long skirts at the moment and like the idea of the insects printed on it 😬

SoyYo · 16/09/2019 15:45

Also like laska ordered the black leather trainers with white stars (Hope they’re okay as I went for my usual size 5/38) and the skinny grey Bailey jeans in a 10 as all my Hush jeans in a 12 are a bit big now I’ve lost weight. Fingers crossed there are no returns as I hate paying for returns postage and didn’t want to order multiple sizes for that reason...Hmm

SoyYo · 16/09/2019 15:52

soups I really like my Baukjen jersey tops from a few seasons ago, nice heavy jersey, washes well
www.baukjen.com/collections/sale-tops-tees/products/elsie-top-wine
The Elsie top I have in black and navy and notice it’s on the sale, looks a bit boring but it’s useful. I find I need a 14 in Baukjen tops

SoyYo · 16/09/2019 16:00

soups i also really like this boyfriend long check coat, really long coats are in this winter as are checks and this manages to combine both trends with a relaxed vibe (plus what’s not to like about a traditional check with pink thrown in Wink). May be well worth a try as it’s a good price in the sale

SoyYo · 16/09/2019 16:04

Ah sorry didn’t check sizes left! Looks like the check coat only available in 6 and 8 Sad shame as I reckon you would have fitted a 10 no problem...

SoyYo · 16/09/2019 16:20

Having just caught up with the thread properly wanted to add:
Get well soon to Ella and Len Flowers

Glad the skirt that finally! Arrived was a winner Soover and

Laska you look Fabulous so no more putting yourself down and glad the Clarks shoes are keepers Smile (I may have got tempted by some M&S leopard ankle boots after my last hospital check up visit too Wink to go with my RocknRoll black skinny/t shirt Tux look...told you I’m deluded Grin)

justi and binky swimwear shopping is the pits. I couldn’t cope at all with it if it weren’t for mail order and cup sized swimwear.

never are you still waiting for your Hush order? Hmm

Warm hellos to everyone else 👋👋 including our new posters. Lovely to have you on board Smile

dontcallmelen · 16/09/2019 17:13

Thanks everyone, am feeling a bit better so don’t think it was the bug Ella had just a cold, don’t ache as much just v v sneezy & really watery eyes☹️ I am also incredibly pathetic when I get a cold.
Sounds like some good bargains from BA👍
Bearded I’m very short as well, yy the midi/maxi dresses just wrong on me everywhere but the mini dresses are a good length I have the Miriam summer dress & it just hits my knees, I think it works as it’s a bit fitted on top & flares out from under the bust, so doesn’t swamp me.

twosoups1972 · 16/09/2019 17:36

@SoyYo I have an Elsie top! In navy. Lovely quality and fit.

I'm now considering - Marion v-neck jumper in pink (but they only have an 8 and even if it comes up big, I think will be too big), Kimmy playsuit (in a 10), but it's very summery and I wouldn't wear it till next year, or a black Drew tee (but very expensive for a t-shirt!).

Talisin · 16/09/2019 17:58

Soy just a warning that the Yasmin skirt is really long. I’m 5’8 and it virtually touches the ground in bare feet - you may need to hem it (or wear very high heels).

SoyYo · 16/09/2019 18:08

Ah im glad you agree on the Elsie top soups the other bits you’re considering do sound promising 👍 Baujken is usually great quality so you can’t go wrong really.

Thanks for the heads up Talisin 👌yes I kind of anticipated that being a maxi I’d have to have it taken up which at the bargainous BA price is no problem. Hoping it’ll be a keeper in any case Smile

dontcallmelen · 16/09/2019 18:15

Hush beaded crepe top which is on BA, I can throughly recommend goes with jeans/shorts & washes really well.

SoyYo · 16/09/2019 18:23

soups just had a look. I think the playsuit is too summery so no.
Love love the pink jumper!
The black T shirt knowing high jersey Baujken quality will totally be worth the money but I’d be worried due to the style (body hugging rather than loose flowing shape like the Elsie) that it may be too clingy?

miffy2 · 16/09/2019 19:35

I love all three Hush items I bought a week or two ago. the red/black long-sleeve Kensington (got lots of compliments on it yesterday when family came round to celebrate my birthday), I also love the wide jersey top in midnight (this is my 4th one, one of the staples in my wardrobe all year round) and the short frayed check jacket. I think this will be useful over dresses and with black trousers in winter.

Now I have my heart set on a colourful cashmere jumper, round neck rather than roll-neck (I have a couple of those). I am torn between the Sadie (neon purple) form Hush or M&S's round neck in cerise. Would need to save a bit more for the Hush. Has anyone tried it?

SaltySeaBird · 16/09/2019 19:46

HELP!

So I brought (from eBay) a new lovely short silk skirt from Hush. I’ve wore it to the office today, just went to pop it in the wash and it’s dry clean only.

I never dry clean clothes and know I won’t wear it if I have a hassle washing it.

Does anyone have one and if so do you think a hand wash in cool water would suffice?

SaltySeaBird · 16/09/2019 19:48

This is the label, it’s 100% silk.

dontcallmelen · 16/09/2019 19:55

Salty I don’t have that skirt, but have washed silk very delicate fabrics in my machine on a delicates programme using silk/delicate liquid washing powder usually get it from Waitrose or M&S & everything has come out ok.

Ellapaella · 16/09/2019 20:47

@SaltySeaBird can't advise on the washing but just have to say I love your username!

@SoyYo there is a very similar coat to the baukjen one in M&S... reckon it would look great on you, I'll go find the link..
