@neveradullmoment99 the Geox brogues are lovely

*@mumtoadancer my oldest dancing dd is now 18. She started ballet at 3 and picked up tap, modern, jazz and contemporary over the years. We did the whole festival circuit between the ages of 5-15. Numerous English Youth Ballets and 3 Counties Youth Ballet (she met Victoria Beckham whose niece was also dancing in the same show Smile). Lots and lots of driving, costumes and expense Grin But it's a lovely hobby and I've had fun being a ballet mum. She went away to boarding school for Sixth Form and now has a lovely shiny new BTEC in Performing Arts with 3 Ds She's now decided not to pursue dance as a career and has a place to read English at Birmingham next year. She's home for a year first though and is joining her younger sister at her dance school.

Sooverthemill · 12/09/2019 20:56

I've had confirmation of dispatch emails now 3-4 days which is annoying. If I'd known I'd have gone via JL as I didn't get a discount in the end. Hmph

mumtoadancer · 12/09/2019 21:23

@twosoups1972 Your daughter sounds amazing, it is such a big commitment especially as they get older. If she is looking for dance classes when she is at Birmingham Uni the the Dance Exchange above the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre have a range of classes including open classes for 18+ up to professional level. My daughter is doing a degree in dance at a Conservatoire in London, the running around has stopped now for us but I do miss it!

mumtoadancer · 12/09/2019 21:24

I placed an order on Sunday for the long cord skirt and it is due for delivery tomorrow, I think it is the longest I have waited for a Hush parcel.

Sooverthemill · 13/09/2019 07:32

My hush parcels are both coming tomorrow. I agree with mumtoadancer the longest wait ever. Not good.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 08:29

Mine is coming tomorrow too. Not impressed. You would think they would have sent it royal mail 24. If they are having issues with orders and the sheer numbers then the item from warehouse to post office should take longer but there is NO excuse to send it on a slower service in fact that's a sure way to piss your customers off.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 08:30

I ordered a skirt from Toast yesterday. It was about 8am. By 10am I had a dispatch email and its coming today. Its free. I am a part of their 'kindred' service and last time I ordered I got a gift of free flavoured tee. That's how you treat your customers especially ones that have bought a lot from you.

Sooverthemill · 13/09/2019 09:10

never to be fair, that is usually how it works with Hush friends too, isn't it? But they seem to have had a major glitch and dealt with it in a way that their customer services/ head of operations has misjudged. I guess if we all email them saying how disappointed we are they may take note. Read an interview with the founder the other day and she sounds really nice!

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 09:20

@Sooverthemill, yes. I agree its usually like that. Totally agree..
The only thing that really bothers me is that they sent it a slower service than they could have after the wait. They should have sent it RM24 instead of 48

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 09:21

..or whatever they have sent it. Not even sure it is Royal mail 48

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 09:21

I also sell on ebay and if I had a delay I would stump up the cost for first class since the delay was down to me.

Sooverthemill · 13/09/2019 09:30

never yes I agree but I thunk they had a blanket policy to catch up and didn't have the ability to sort out the 'friends' who they might piss off! They will hopefully learn. On another note, looking at the MM smart works capsule collection sent me down a very rocky road on John Lewis website and I've also made a couple of bids on jigsaw jeans on eBay ( which is ridiculous as I own about 17 pairs of jeans)

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 09:55

I have way too many jeans too @soover!
Well my toast parcel came and its all going back. Both skirts beautifully made but the denim one like @Laska2Meryls has was huge on me in a 12. It was big on the waist and on the hips. The navy brushed cotton side pleat one was just a bizarre shape on me. The pleat didn't sit nice on me and it was neat on the waist despite being huge on the hips. I also ordered the stripey mustard and navy top with the half sleeves. Gorgeous but I have had a 20% discount so will order again with that. I don't think Toast skirts and me get on. Not good for a pear shape.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 09:56

Oh I recommended a friend to get the 20% so pleased about that.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 09:57

Anway, off to get my eyesight tested today. Then I am going to take my prescription and order glasses online I think. Anyone done that before?

Sooverthemill · 13/09/2019 10:08

never I've not ordered the whole frames and lenses online but I have replaced lenses in an old pair which went really very well. At the moment for some reason I seem to be unable to cope with my new frames ( I've had three different frames in less than 2 years) as they all rub a little blister above my ear. I've tried three different makes and slightly different shape 'arms' and have had them fitted at a very reputable optician ( at huge expense). They can't think why it's happening. I fear I'm allergic to them. Anyway my old less stylish ones were still fine so I've had the lenses replaced online by lenses in glasses ( who have a sister frames and all) and they were less than half the price the optician quoted for exactly same quality lense. It's very odd but I'm wondering if my skin has become more sensitive since chemo which is when I had these frames. I need another eye test at Christmas and I'm dreading having to change the lenses! In fact today I am supposed to try to wear one of the newer frames ( bought in May) to try yet again to get used to them. I may be able to get to optician on Saturday to try to have them adjusted again but I don't think it's that. I think my body hates me. I also have ( apparently) an unusually small face and bridge so am really limited in what I can have. It's hard not being able to get out anywhere as I can just about get to local optician and back in my hour window but I can never get to a town with a different one ( I used to be very fond of Boots optician who would order in). I've worn glasses since age 6 and am now 61 and this is a new issue!

Ellapaella · 13/09/2019 11:05

@neveradullmoment99 intrigued to know what a flavoured tee is?

Sooverthemill · 13/09/2019 11:07

ella tea?

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 12:04

@Ellapaella It is organic lemon verbena. The writing looks Turkish or Greek on the packet. Actually just looking closer and its said it comes from the region of Lake Trichonis in Greece.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 12:05

It is whole leaf loose herbal tea!

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 12:06

No idea how to use it!!! Do you just shove it in a cup then drain it?

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2019 12:09

Thanks @Sooverthemill. I have been a bit allergic to frames where the nose bit has been. I can be allergic to nickel but its been covered in plastic. I haven't been so bad with it atm. Strange though and annoying for you.

Ive got my prescription so will have a browse.

justilou1 · 13/09/2019 12:26

@Sooverthemill- I have stupidly sensitive ears and have found that painting the posts of my earrings with clear nail polish makes them wearable. Do you think it’s worth trying that on your glasses?

Ellapaella · 13/09/2019 13:29

Sounds delicious never - I did think you probably meant tea not tee but I was intrigued! A lemon verbena smelling tee shirt would be lovely Smile

twosoups1972 · 13/09/2019 13:31

I have also had a Hush parcel delivered today, nothing exciting just a skirt I was changing the size for. Agree it took ages to arrive!

@mumtoadancer wow that sounds great, your dd is on the road to professionalism! What type of dance does she want to do eventually? Thank you so much for the info on Birmingham, dd will be very happy about that.
