If I discover the groom isnt related to Janis Joplin I'm going to be very disappointed.

TatianaLarina · 31/08/2019 21:37

Love the fact that it’s unusually demure slash Princess Anne.

I’m so over tight strapless Kardashian look.

RedForShort · 31/08/2019 21:39

Looks much nicer in this picture imo

Revotling!

  1. She’s done that much shit to her face that she looks horrendous! unnecessarily
  1. Dress is plain and meh
  1. Not my cup of tea
nononever · 31/08/2019 21:47

It looks like a 70s dress. It would totally make sense if it was her mum's dress.

It isn't her mum's dress, it's a custom made Chloe.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 31/08/2019 21:48

Why would it be her mum's dress?

It's not, it's Chloe.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 31/08/2019 21:49

Oh sorry, didn't see the posting above.

It actually looks like my mum's wedding dress. And yes she did get married in the 70s!!

AbandonHopeDarr3n · 31/08/2019 21:54

I'm in York at the moment and it's freezing here, (to me it is, coming from the tropics of... London Grin). She probably guessed it might not be warm here.

I can't decide about the dress. It looks great in some of the pictures but not so great in others. Overall I'm just not sure if it suits her very well. Maybe if she was tall and really willowy? Not a horror though and she never looks bad, as she is a very pretty woman.

I also think brides mostly look beautiful, as they're mostly very happy, radiant, confident etc.

daisychain01 · 31/08/2019 21:56

The photos on the Hello website do the dress more justice than your's, @honeylou42. It has beautiful flowers embroidered on the bodice and her veil is lovely.

Their blue VW camper was a nice touch!

Princess Beatrice has lost a lot of weight, she looked very slim and I quite liked her bottle green outfit.

MitziK · 31/08/2019 21:58

Katy Perry's outfit looks like the one my mother wore when my brother got married in 1986. It was bought from the plus sized selection in the freeman's catalogue purely because it was the only thing that would go on somebody who was 5 foot tall and size 24. So she automatically looked like she was wearing somebody else's clothes as they drowned her height and still wouldn't do up round the middle.

The only elements that are missing are the cauliflower perm, American Tan tights and a permanent scowl.

The bride's dress looks like she missed out on the final fittings and it's made from thick curtaining (or they nicked some vestments from the back room of the Minster), as it appears to be monstrously heavy.

I'm definitely in favour of higher necklines and covering arms, but not to that extent and not so poorly tailored.

Stoic123 · 31/08/2019 21:59

Like the dress, except the collar, but fitting could have been better. Loved the bridesmaids’ look- very retro.

FatherFintanFay · 31/08/2019 22:00

Why do people think it was too hot or muggy to wear a long sleeved dress? It was 18°C in York today with a stiff breeze. I was in town today but had no idea this was going on. Might have gone for a nosy if I'd realised. Fwiw, I like the dress but I do think it looked a size too big around the top. But that seems to be the fashion - just look at how many people have been wearing that spotty Zara thing.

Jesaminecollins · 31/08/2019 22:00

I liked Ellie's dress - it was plain and understated - she wears unusual dresses all the time in her music vids so this made a nice change.

This song is about her and Caspar - it tells how much she loves him

Catquest1 · 31/08/2019 22:00

My stand out outfit was Tracy Emin's.

I dont get invited to many weddings anymore but i am resolving the next one i do I am going say "sod it im wearing my boots!" Grin

PapaShango · 31/08/2019 22:01

Sparklingbrook
I’m sure that’s Scarlett from xfactor and she’s from a traveller family. Those dresses are part of their tradition

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 31/08/2019 22:04

I'm staggered by her guest list! I didn't realise she was so famous. I thought she'd had her 15 minutes of fame tbh.

SirVixofVixHall · 31/08/2019 22:05

I really like it.

Sparklingbrook · 31/08/2019 22:05

Oh right PapaShango, I am not up to date with X Factor at all, and I thought it was Gemma Collins at first. Then I saw it was a 'Scarlett' and thought maybe Scarlett Moffatt.

I do not know my z list celebrities at all well. Grin

Tanfastic · 31/08/2019 22:06

Not my cup of tea. I like long sleeves on wedding dresses but not this style. I thought the bridesmaids looked terrible, liked they'd just got out of bed and scraped their hair back in ponies and forgot to take off their nighties. I get the type of look/theme she's going for but I personally didn't like it.

NoTheresa · 31/08/2019 22:08

Tbf to Ellie, it is much more becoming than the ubiquitous and ghastly strapless dress accompanied by fake tan. I actually don’t mind it but I really do not like her

Al2O3 · 31/08/2019 22:11

The most popular word it seems is 'but'. It looks lovely...but...

Well I make that 11 unqualified positive posts out of 197 @honeylou42
You are in a respectful minority.

CarpeVitam · 31/08/2019 22:13

My first thought was it's a tad frumpy but her wedding, her choice 🤷‍♀️

And regardless....she looked beautiful! 😀
