It's awful and looks too big on her!

hotcrossbun4321 · 02/09/2019 19:27

I wasn't keen on the dress initially from that pic, but I saw another pic of her in the big church and it worked. It looked more suited to the venue than something very modern. It did look as though it needed to be fitted better though. I think the hairstyle is throwing it off a bit too

SoupDragon · 02/09/2019 19:39

Presumably she loved it which is all that matters really.

DateLoaf · 02/09/2019 19:41

I googled just now to try to find a pic of the veil and found a Vogue article where Ellie G talks about the multiple outfits she will wear on the day. I guess this is just celebrity reality but there is something not very nice about a bride namechecking right down to what beauty brands etc they will wear. www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/article/ellie-goulding-wedding-day

Disfordarkchocolate · 02/09/2019 19:47

Now I've seen some clear pictures I think it's beautiful. Wonderful workmanship and it fitted the grandeur of the setting.

Bumbags · 02/09/2019 19:58

I thought it was an odd choice for an August wedding.

Hated the bridesmaid dresses too.

Sparklingbrook · 02/09/2019 20:15

I think maybe the beginning of August it may have been a bit too much but it was the 31st, it had rained all morning and was very windy. I bet the Minster is chilly on the inside too.

autumndreaming · 02/09/2019 20:15

I think the dress itself is beautiful. Fabulous material and detail, and the way it falls is stunning. I like it better without the veil though

Watch3000 · 02/09/2019 20:16

She looks incredible!

Brideof2020 · 02/09/2019 20:24

Not for me im afraid. But then again she may not like my choice of dress Grin each to their own.

She looked nice in the dress, but it is an odd choice of wedding dress. I actually thought it was a kind of 'overcoat' over her dress, which would be removed once inside the church and this was to make sure she was only photographed by the magazine covering the wedding.

I thought the bridesmaids looked a bit odd too !!

TheCraicDealer · 02/09/2019 21:17

Second dress for the reception- much more my bag, although maybe wouldn't have gone quite so far with the thigh split!

What was with the hair? She had beachy waves and the bridesmaids all had scraped back ponytails.

I'm a bridesmaid next summer and if the bride makes me wear my hair in a low ponytail like I've got a hangover and am off down wetherspoons I won't be happy!!

TiredyMcTired · 02/09/2019 21:56

Well, I thought that she looked fabulous, and the dress suited her. The details were so pretty. Fabulous to see a dress that doesn’t have half the brides baps on show.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 02/09/2019 22:09

I didn't like the dress - it looks too heavy for a summer wedding and, to me, as though 'Joyce down the road ran it up from a pattern in My Weekly. ' It didn't fit well. Might have looked better with sheer sleeves and a different neckline - I thought the ruff loooked uncomfortable.

ElloBrian · 02/09/2019 22:14

It’s genuinely appalling.

applesandacorns · 02/09/2019 22:22

I think I'm in the minority here, but I absolutely adore it. She looks ethereal.

ItIsWhatItIsInnit · 02/09/2019 22:31

@DateLoaf, wow she's really name-dropping there. How the hell did she have time for so many outfit changes - I barely had time to wee at my wedding!

Sparklingbrook · 02/09/2019 22:33

I think it's fine that she said what designers and make up she used, people may be interested in that if they read Vogue.

MonkeysaurusRex · 02/09/2019 22:55

I really liked it. I wouldn't choose it for myself as it wouldn't suit me at all but on her I think it looks lovely. Love the Victorian style and makes a change from the usual run of the mill dresses you see. Demure and classy and very appropriate for the venue.

Damsel · 02/09/2019 23:38

Surprised anyone even noticed her dress when all you could see were her LIPS.

Such a bad job. Going to read that Vogue article now to see if she names the clinic so I know where not to go! (Not that I’ll be getting mine done anytime soon 😏)

Rache49 · 03/09/2019 00:15

I loved it. Very original and will be timeless on the photos. At least the Archbishop didn't have to worry about where to look.!!

M3lon · 03/09/2019 00:18

sparkling thanks for that! TBH I can't really look away from the cake...I mean its a hell of a cake!

Rache49 · 03/09/2019 00:21

TiredyMcTired. You are so right about the Brides Baps. Some brides have acres of flesh on show and don't start me on those dresses that look like she forgot the dress and came in the underwear!! I feel sorry for Vicars and Celebrants who don't know where to look!!

Jesaminecollins · 03/09/2019 02:33

I was just reading this and thinking how many times have I heard this before - some celebrity claims to have found the love of their lives and then a few years later they decide to divorce. Sorry if I sound a bit negative but I don't know many people who are happily married to love of their lives.
