Registry office wedding . Just us .wasnt going to bother with a wedding dress , just a new outfit but saw this online for 42 quid and fell in love . Arrived today , it’s resllyptetty , it fits , but it isn’t white as it looked . In fairness it’s described as antique vintage lace . I should return it shouldn’t i ?

I have been on Mumsnet for more years than I would like to admit but never before posted, however, I wanted to say congratulations and you look fabulous in that dress just as it is. Have a great day.

FenellaMaxwell · 15/08/2019 18:26

I LOVE IT! I would wear it with these www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/harriet-clogs-gold-metallic/sty-a0413-gld and a crown of really bright fresh flowers.

It’s gorgeous on you.

Personally I wouldn’t alter the length. I think it’s 70s Victoriana and is supposed to look long? Fix the trim on the sleeve and off you go.

Lucked · 15/08/2019 19:48

I like it and it is a great fit. M&S also have lace up ankle boots in off white

CircleCircleUnderOver · 15/08/2019 19:55

Clogs and crown is genius.

Have a lovely day!

PalmersGreen · 15/08/2019 21:01

It’s perfect. WEAR THE DRESS!

S1naidSucks · 15/08/2019 21:08

I love those boots Barbara and Lucked. I think they have a victorian feel that matches that dress beautifully.

Congratulations OP. I hope you have an amazing day.

MidnightMystery · 15/08/2019 22:03

It's beautiful !!!

Verite1 · 16/08/2019 08:33

Oh that is beautiful. And what a bargain!
Def don’t shorten it.

Tentomidnight · 16/08/2019 12:14

I love the gold clogs with it.

Giggorata · 16/08/2019 12:28

It is gorgeous, just as it is. Much nicer than white. And it looks great on you. You should certainly have a special dress on your special day, even if you've lived together for a million years.
Congratulations 🍾

QuaterMiss · 16/08/2019 12:40

Really sorry but I’m re-imagining your wedding outfit in my own image.

Too gorgeous ...

You’d only need a gold-embroidered ivory cloak to finish. Or a bomber jacket. That would be rather fine.

Annasgirl · 16/08/2019 12:42

OP I really love the dress. Wear it and have a fab day - wow, what a bargain for £42.

I wouldn't shorten it either - and I say that as a 5' 2' woman.

Kanga83 · 16/08/2019 12:42

I love it. I had a antique champagne lace for mine, quite similar to yours and I loved it. I paired it with a cream and gold feather hair band, some light gold kitten heel sandals and a posy of small wild flowers. I still love it 10 years on mid all the white fluffy wedding dresses we encountered at weddings that year. I've had it dyed to a darker champagne and it's my special dress.

thefootofourstairs · 16/08/2019 14:52

Sounds lovely kanga83 imagine away Quatermiss Grin I have a biker jacket , no bomber though .

stucknoue · 16/08/2019 15:48

Looks great

FenellaMaxwell · 16/08/2019 18:02

I have the Boden clogs and the are soooooo
Comfy!

emerencemaybehopeful · 17/08/2019 09:18

Ankle boots.

But for some reason I keep thinking blue suede would be nice.

dudsville · 17/08/2019 09:22

You've chosen such a beautiful dress op!

pinacollama · 17/08/2019 09:24

It’s so pretty!

MoltonSilver · 17/08/2019 09:33

It's very nice but tbh I'm not crazy about the colour. If it was the right shade for you, you'd know. You wouldn't need to be talked into it.
