Hollywood wax

Lau247 · 14/08/2019 21:26

Hi

So I got my first Hollywood wax today and I am very disappointed.. I was under the impression they remove everything as in even them annoying hairs inside that are hard to shave and around the bum

She asked if I wanted the under bit done too and I said yes..

I didn’t say anything at the time as I’m not one to complain and didn’t realise how bad it was till I got home but she hasn’t got rid of the hair around the bum sorry for the info lol or the little annoying hairs on the inside. My friend said her waxer literally gets rid of everywhere and gets her to get in position so she can get in awkward Spots.

She didn’t get me to move in any positions other than when she did the bum and I was on my front.

The top bit the triangle is the only way I can describe it is stubbly and feels like it does when I shave it!

Is this normal ? I assumed it would have no hair left and be smooth all over I’m very disappointed to say the least

You are the bravest person I've ever encountered.

Did it hurt?

How can I become you?

I'm sorry your disappointed, go back with a printed definition of what a Hollywood wax is, then show her the left over hair and ask if she would leave her own foof half done?

cokezerothehero · 14/08/2019 21:33

I get everything off. There is not one hair on me. My waxing lady is the best person in the world

If you're in Belfast I can point you to her - £30 for full leg and Hollywood

PurpleWithRed · 14/08/2019 21:43

Worth flying to Belfast for.

Mine also does a proper job. Mortifying the first time but soo soooo smooth and we just chat through it now.

It smarts a bit but is all over very quickly.

funkylittleboatrace · 14/08/2019 21:52

That is annoying as a therapist who does one of these a day, you should really ring up the salon a good one would be offering to sort out the unwaxed bits!.

FizzyPink · 14/08/2019 21:57

I’ve had hundreds of Hollywood waxes and every single one of them has taken all the hair off. The place I go to now even has a poster with diagrams so you know exactly what you’re getting.
How much did you pay OP? And whereabouts are you?

FizzyPink · 14/08/2019 21:58

If you’re in London I can recommend one of the luxury wax bars. They even play Friends on a tv for you to watch so no awkward conversations either!

lpchill · 14/08/2019 21:58

Yea it should be all of the hair off including the bum area.

I have had this a couple of times before and changed waxers as it seemed a bit obvious they don't know what they are doing as they should be also getting the inside bit you talked about.

Sometimes it can be a struggle for them if you have a bit too much hair but a good waxed will trim it down to the correct length and then start waxing.

I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience but welcome to (mostly) hairless gang!

CoffeeRunner · 14/08/2019 21:59

Mine removes all the hair too. And gets me to lift my legs in various positions to achieve that!

funkylittleboatrace · 14/08/2019 22:00

I do have clients that actually decline the bum area wax which I find odd, but hey it's not my bum hole.

Lau247 · 14/08/2019 22:27

@PoppingOneOutIn2020 I nearly bottled it tbh lol I took two pain killers half hour before as recommended by others.. the lip part really hurt yeah but i thought it was going to be way worse than it was.

@cokezerothehero unfortunately very far from Belfast I am in east London 😟

@funkylittleboatrace I thought of ringing up but I feel a bit embarrassed it’d actually pretty awful the amount of hair that is left .

@Turnedouttoes I don’t know if because it was my first one she didn’t really bother.. she was a young girl and she said she’d been doing them for ages.. I paid £25 and I’m in the east London area. that salon sounds good we’re abouts in London is it ?

@lpchill
I don’t think the hair was too long it defiantly wasn’t long enough to trim anyway I felt she did it very quickly especially the bum area just once on each side and said I was done I was thinking hmm okay. She didn’t even attempt the inside bits and I can’t believe how stubbly the public area feels !!

@CoffeeRunner no lifting of the legs at all literally just had legs open then once on my front for the bum.

Thinking should I go to a different salon and get them to do the left over bits but then I don’t want to pay full price for that. Just feel a bit emanrassed going back to the same salon as I should have said something there and then

Not sure if this is allowed OP but luxurywaxbar.co.uk/
There’s a couple in London, probably more expensive than what you paid but the best salon I’ve ever been to and I’ve tried a lot of them!

Redspider1 · 14/08/2019 22:31

Probably just didn’t fancy get intimidated with your bum hole tbh. Would you wax hers?Grin

Girasole02 · 14/08/2019 22:31

My waxer removes everything.

Benjispruce · 14/08/2019 22:32

Intimate not intimidated . On second thoughts....Hmm

Redspider1 · 14/08/2019 22:33

Yeah I meant intimate. I don’t go that far. You’re very brave. Hurts like hell.

Lau247 · 14/08/2019 22:36

@Turnedouttoes thanks just had a quick look not even much more than what I paid tbh and probably worth it if they do a good job .. quite far for me though as seems to only be based in west London.

@benjispruce no I wouldn’t but I’m not working in a salon doing Hollywood’s

Lau247 · 14/08/2019 22:39

Also I got this done at a spa too there are loads of eyebrow/ waxing shops in east London and I thought a spa would be a better choice than one of them little shops ! Obviously was wrong

OP posts:
Nonotmenori · 14/08/2019 22:42

Yes Op this has happened to me. She wasn't ripping the hairs out the correct way. And never used the lamp to see what she was doing I just changed to anther girl who's done a better job, but still not perfect.

dementedma · 14/08/2019 22:42

The inside bit?????

Jeez, I find an eyebrow wax is in my personal space. I can’t imagine...

Lau247 · 14/08/2019 22:43

@Nonotmenori annoying isn’t it ! Mine did use a lamp but she didn’t seem to really be looking at it properly or taking her time. Won’t be going back there that’s all I know!

Nonotmenori · 14/08/2019 22:45

I'm in south London and still looking for a decent waxer. If you're near Finsbury park I can highly recommend my ex beauty lady who was amazing! Shame I moved 😭

Lau247 · 14/08/2019 22:49

@Nonotmenori not near Finsbury Park unfortunately I’m in east London.. guess my search will continue

CTRL · 14/08/2019 22:49

I’m a specialist Hollywood waxer and I can say honestly sounds like it wasn’t done right.

When I’m doing my clients I get them in different positions so I can get ALL the hairs.

housewifeoflittleitaly · 14/08/2019 22:49

Coke I am in Belfast please let me know. I’d be very grateful!

RedCowboyBoots · 14/08/2019 22:50

Crikey, well done! I thought the upper thighs were painful...
