It's in The Guardian today.
Does that mean it's too late to get one?

Yes. It’s naff now. Literally everywhere

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 11/08/2019 21:40

Figured.

Why would anyone want one? It’s a shapeless sack. I don’t get it. Confused

LemonAddict · 11/08/2019 21:59

I got it last week fully expecting it to look shit but I’d heard all the hype and they had it online in my size and I wanted to at least try it on.

I bloody love it. It needs a belt though.

Legomadx2 · 11/08/2019 22:00

People love wearing it but no-one actually looks good in it.

It just feels amazing (acc to my friends who wear it but tbh don't look that great in it!)

I think if you're ten feet tall and a beanpole maybe, but it looks like a maternity dress to me

DramaAlpaca · 11/08/2019 22:01

It's shapeless, a bit see-through & in a nasty fabric. It went back.

TheFlis12345 · 11/08/2019 22:01

I don’t get the hype about this dress. They say it suits everyone but I have seen dozens of women of all shapes and sizes in it and very few looked great.

Blueemeraldagain · 11/08/2019 22:01

I wouldn’t bother. I have yet to see anyone in real life look anything above average in it. Different heights, sizes, body shapes: some look ok, some look like they are wearing a nightie or a potato sack.

RogueV · 11/08/2019 22:02

Yikes it’s awful

Whitney168 · 11/08/2019 22:03

That article shows women of all shapes and sizes wearing it, and it’s similarly unflattering on all of them. I think the theory that it feels so comfortable that no one cares what it looks like must be right.

Spinnaret · 11/08/2019 22:07

That photo of four women wearing it. It flatters none of them. What is this trend for sack dresses at the moment? It's like everyone has gone Amish! Confused

Binglebong · 11/08/2019 22:10

I don't like it. So it must be good!

GooodMythicalMorning · 11/08/2019 22:14

Yuck!

mamaoffourdc · 11/08/2019 22:15

I love mine

mizu · 11/08/2019 22:16

Lemonaddict did you size down? Not sure whether to go for M or S. Am 5 ft 7" and about 10 stone I think.

IdaBWells · 11/08/2019 22:17

Definitely don't understand the hype but then noone could accuse me of being "fashion-forward".

mizu · 11/08/2019 22:20

*lemonaddict did you size down? I'm torn between getting M or S. I'm 5ft 7" and about 10 stone.

LemonAddict · 11/08/2019 22:29

mizu I got XS, I’m 5ft 3, size 8 and tbh it could do with being a little smaller which is why I need the belt, I wouldn’t wear it without a belt.

It really does feel amazing and comfortable to wear. My DH is not known for sugaring the pill when giving his opinion while I’m deciding whether to keep or return clothes and he was like “yeah, it looks ok”. (I’d also ordered another white dress id seen on another S&B thread and his response to that one was “fucking hell that’s hideous”).

ilovecherries · 11/08/2019 22:30

mizu, I’m 5’7 and 11 stone, and I wear a medium. It’s a lot less common than the bloody Next linen shift dresses that everyone on MN seems to love. I’ve had mine since Easter, worn it loads, it washes well. I saw it a few times in a London last week, but haven’t seen it anywhere else except Instagram in the last 4 months. Can’t understand all the frothing about it. It’s a loose, comfy summer dress, probably seen better, def seen worse. It’s nice.

Pomegranatemolasses · 11/08/2019 22:34

I absolutely do not get the hype. And I agree with a pp, that photo in the Guardian flatters no one!

Skyejuly · 11/08/2019 22:40

I'd look hideous in that.

Neolara · 11/08/2019 22:41

All the women in that photo look awful. It looks like a sack. It's so unflattering. Just no.

AgnesNaismith · 11/08/2019 22:43

I love mine and now I can’t wear it because every time I go out I see 10 people wearing it Angry

I can’t, can I???

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 11/08/2019 22:44

I have one and have only worn it once because I was so self conscious 😂
It was very very comfy to wear though and think it looked pretty good...I did have it shortened though

Mayborn · 11/08/2019 22:46

It’s everywhere. I don’t buy anything from Zara and even I have noticed it, I usually see at least two on my way from station to office.
